Two-time winners: pair find medallion, again, ending Treasure Hunt
Primary tabs

Two veteran treasure hunters — and finders — found the St. Paul Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt medallion about an hour ago in Lilydale Regional Park in St. Paul.
Jake Ingebrigtson, 30, and Rob Brass, 31, co-finders of the puck in 2007, turned up the prize on the eleventh day of the hunt at about 1 p.m. in the park alongside the west bank of the Mississippi River.
Details are sketchy about where the medallion was hidden, but it was the same one Ingebrigtson and Brass found in Hidden Falls park three hunts ago, Ingebrigtson said. Part of its wrapping included words that are also etched on the Pulitzer Prize medals — "honoris" and "causa."
Ingebrigtson, when reached by cell phone at about 1:15 p.m., said he wasn't

going to be coming to the Pioneer Press headquarters for a few hours. His plan included stopping in Minneapolis to show the medallion to coworkers and then stopping off for a beer.
He did nearly the same in 2007, taking the puck to his St. Paul apartment building and inviting friends over to check it out before heading to the newspaper.
A press conference to announce the winners is slated for 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Pioneer Press.
