I call my addiction Medallion Fever. It rises to a fevered pitch every year about this time and then settles down - but doesn't go away - the remainder of the year.
I met a lot of people for the first time last night and it was awsome putting a face to the name :-) And honestly I thought some people were the wrong sex until I met them but I won't mention who....lol

I was there for awhile last night before the 6th clue came out. Here is all the knowledge I can give you about McMurray field...
1) Streets that border it - Jessamine, Lexington, Como, Beulah sp? 2) What's nearby - to the west The Park and Rec office, Animal Humane society - to the northwest - woods and a walking path through to Como. Also a deadend on Como. to the North you have a swimming pool, tennis courts across Como ave. To the East you have a busy street with houses on it. To the Southeast you have a RR Bridge underpass. To the South you have a long stretch with the RR tracks. 3) Signs in the park - Field Use by Permit only, a sign that shows which way to park and rec office, the McMurray Fields park sign, a sign that says no loitering in your car or parking lot, for visitor use only, and a couple of others 4) Park composition. Entire east end is dedicated to broomball ice, maybe 4-6 rinks. In summer this area is baseball fields. The middle and east end of park are fairly flat, no trees really to speak of. The west end of the park is a sledding hill encompassing entire SW, W, and NW sides of park, along with built-in benches for sitting. This area of the park is soccer fields (west) and baseball fields (middle). 5) Snow cover 1-3 inches. All footprints in park have turned to ice, and there are pockets of ice 2-3 feet in diameter under the snow everywhere. 6) What's visible - Space needle 7) Don't bother wasting your time around garbage cans, soccer nets and backstops, they have all be examined.

Hey Randy. A diamond in the rough. Diamonds are formed from compressed coal. There's a fire pit in Phalen that was donated by the east side LIONS club, that would have charcoal in it. A group of lions is a pride (carnival hunter's pride, clue #3). Also, in clue #2 "have no fear". Fearless is another term for lionhearted. See where I'm going? You can see antenna from Phalen, lots of other stuff too...

Hello everyone. Glad I finally decided to join the club! Merriam looks good today. Lots of people out there and spoke with some of them and rev. some new ideas... Merriam has both the iv tower and the space needle in view. There is a re. center there a couple of good hills to slide down and a few baseball field. Also a school (with a flag of course) and several other good qualities. A friend of mines lives over by Battle Creek and said there is a lot of people over there as well... Mixed thoughts still

Lisa's mommy - I like that they are extending this hunt. There have been too many short hunts recently - so I'm keeping an open mind and not crossing Como off my list. Of course that list is about 50 parks long - but Como isn't near the bottom.
...I can't wait till the next clue... Did I mention I would turn into a noodle If the clue sucks like the last?

Frosti...I am with you to some degree...a little deep in my opinion...at least in years past , I have dug so deep and tried to get multiple clues from each clue...when all along their have been minor clues in A SAID clue that would either indicate side of town park equipment etc.....any I am going to run for a bit

I just got back from Indian Mounds park. At least a dozen searchers and the film crew again. Down the hill (and away from the woods) is a huge patch of cockleburs and tall wildflowers (in the rough). I till like Merriam more, but had to search that rough area.
Also; Diamond in the rough = Coal Could it be in a can of SKOAL? (prolly not, tobacco is NON-PC)
Tonite's clue will be the A-bomb of clues, so the 9-5 crowd can have a shot over the weekend.

I know last night was your first time down there waiting for the paper, and meeting people from the Cooler Crew. And I think you had a good time. You also met up with people to dig with, which makes it more fun later on in the hunt, and also for future hunts.

I think last nights clue was telling us that they planned for minimal snow cover and being very vague to prolong the hunt. I also know from past experience that the clues that means the least to us when first read, usually have something to do with what it's hidden in.

I think it's at Hillcrest. Here's why: In clue #2, it says "trek up and down every hill." So what is that? Cresting hills -- you go up and over them.
I've not actually been over there, but it's not too far from Highland. There's a rec center there, and also a theater. "We're game to PLAY" Also Fairview Ave runs along one side (I think) which could work in to #4 "be fair!"
Take your wreck to the park n rec I'm not entirely sure about, but the park is on Ford Parkway, so it could have something to do with that, and they do have off street parking at the rec center. There are baseball 'diamonds' there too, which might work with today's clue. That's my opinion
