And yes - all are welcome. No one but Pioneer Planet owns this board and as long as one follows the rules laid out by that organization, everyone is welcome...

And I don't care if you lurk, participate, not participate, share ideas or keep your best noodlings to yourself. Some folks aren't comfortable sharing or doing anything but lurk - and those folks are just as much a crew member as any of us.

You're welcome. This place should be welcoming to anyone who hunts little blue pucks in the snow or coal or whatever.

After all, aren't we all sharing the same obsession?

What if another era would refer to street cars? The renovated street car station at Como is all done and looking spiffy.

Here's another noodle for ya. What if this jewel in the rough referred to a jewel CASE! That would be a street clue for Duluth and Case.

Not too much of a stretch...but then anything fits everywhere.

the simple take on the clues... same as most but thought I needed to throw em out there, personnaly i think the clues are meant to mean one thing only this way it drags out into next week, due to the lack of the white stuff.

1. st. paul and maybe a fire pit 2. in something knitted or a park with hills 3. slidding hill or near the missisippi 4. broadcast towers can be seen 5. park with a rec center 6. park with baseball diamond

at anyrate there's the simplified one clue approach

Not to needlessly pimp Phalen, but the rec center that is under construction could be considered a diamond in the rough (Note: It looks like a beauty). Also, there are ballparks that overlap into the construction zone. A baseball diamond that is in the rough remodeling zone? Lastly, there are ice rinks, and one is build on the outfield of a phalen rec baseball diamond.

If you think of the echo clues - if that's what they are, Como would have to come to mind.

I dont know for sure, I just noticed it yesterday. Maybe try reading them backwards....... Latest clue first........First Clue last.........I hope it is in a larger park, if anybody thought there were alot of people at PP lastnight wait till tonight!!!!!!! also what would the PP be thinkin if 200 or 300 cars came storming up to a tiny park and getting torn to bits. I think it needs to be in a park that can handle large # of people. BC sounds cool but I suggest you scout in Daylight so you know where the boundries for Maplewood are..

My friend Golddigger is in complete denial about Como and won't go there to dig with me, if you ask me you can make pretty much all the clues fit.

Just Me Man - 12:03pm Jan 25, 2002 CST (#21539 of 25013) Mark Reply

Anne Mcmurray fields all have backstops but no bases. Alot of that park is set up with ice rinks. I stopped there last night and I couldnt fathom it!!!!!! Thats almost directly where it was last year! (give or take 3 feet)!!!!!1

The general park area would fit the carnival hunter clue with the carnival rides....and the hunter's pride if that means lion.

Here is an excerpt from the Pioneer Press story earlier this year....Maybe it helps? Was thinking of "wreck".

These changes were brought about as the city christens a sparkling new impound lot on Como Avenue, closing the previous lot on Barge Channel Road. The new lot is across the street from the fairgrounds entrance, reports WCCO-TV.

Thanks, Terry. I have been floating McMurray for a while. That's where I dug last year before moving over to West Picnic Grounds. I have to admit that I can make the clues fit--but I am famous for making them fit when I wish to.
