though, my take on 'in and on the air' is Van Dyke street - Dick VanDyke was on
the air and the other street is Hazel Street and a Hazeltree is in the
air?!?!?!?!? So do I need to goto bed or what?

Hi! I'm logged back on -- Dave, why are you so set on Mounds? The reason I'm
leaning toward ruling out Mounds is - no parking lot, and I don't recall a rec
center there??? however, park on the street or in the lot, could mean getting
towed to a lot for parking in no parking zones or snow emergency route....

aka Dickaroo, Terry, Ali and Larza too.....
Greetings,
The clues seem to fit Mounds Park, and it was there in 1987, so the park is
not (or was not) taboo. 1987 was the only year it was hidden in Mounds Park.
In this "politically correct" age, though, I wonder if they would risk the
possible political fallout of hiding it on "sacred ground"...
When the thousands of people (not to mention Mini Donut van) arrive, it might
be hard to protect the Mounds.
I tend to lean away from Mounds Park, although I've been wrong before. In
fact I've been wrong for 46 consecutive years. Hmmm... I haven't been totally
wrong for 46 years (except the year I spent two days hunting in Dakota County..
but I swear.. that park in Dakota County fit the clues too a tee).
Anyway, I kind like Hillcrest Rec Center in Highland Park and Highland Park
near the golf course.
Tonights clue will surely be a help.
Good luck everyone!!!!

I'll be within 15 yards every year
You people are funny!!!
Here is my take (and I've been at park very nearly first last four years).
Park n' Rec. If you go to Como Park, and then find the fields on the south
end of the park, you will see a sign that says which direction is to the Park
and Rec permit office (main office). Park office is on Jessamine
This park (McDowell fields or something like that, left it in my truck :)) is
just north of Gabes. It is technically part of Como. Along the south end of the
park is Jessamine (read MINE) Get it, MINE, jewels, diamonds, etc.
Also, a sledding hill encompasses the fields on the entire western ring,
which funnny, consist of a bunch of ballfields.
Oh, you say you want something in and on the air. How about Perry Como, the
singer??? On the Como street sign, which oddly borders the North end of the
fields. There are two parking lots, street parking is totally legal, and plenty
o' space for tots to play (there is also a pool within 100 yds). There are your
street references.
I am still noodling the word "wreck". I'm sure there was a train wreck on the
RR tracks that are just south of the fields at some point, but haven't really
looked into this.
The only reason I tell you all this is that this part of Como is sooooo big
that I could only cover about 1/1000th of the park a night. This is where you
will find me tomorrow night wearing a blue/yellow columbia jacket poking around
in the snow with a broomball stick and maybe a rake.
The problem I found there tonight is all the footprints have turned to ice,
making it hard to penetrate
Sorry so long, good luck
