Some say it can't be at Mounds because of a bad year in the past. As far as I know there has never been an official statement made about Mounds being off limits. It was mentioned in the past about it not being in Maplewood ever again, but not Mounds. I would assume most of us would kick ass on any idiot who tried climbing the fences to the burial mounds anyway.

I think i understand this..... the clue writer is just telling you that it in st. paul...and it just so happens that B.C is half in st.paul. and since half of B.C is in st paul and the other half is in maplewood that makes it clue #4 (FAIR)!!!!!!!!! Joky, I'm trying to learn from my betters (one o'which is here rite now... :D) and do as they say. One big thing Terry's taught me is if it all doesn't fit, ittiz not the rite park.

And to not make too much o'stuff. This part I'm still having trouble with and keep doing it!

That is what can get us in to trouble. I have noticed in the past that not all the lines will match the park. You have to pick and choose which ones are the right ones.

TREASURE HUNT EVENING EVENT INFORMATION:

The Pioneer Press and Cub Foods will host three special events for participants in the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt who gather at the newspaper’s downtown St. Paul headquarters to await publication of clues:

“Vulcan Night” – Saturday, Jan. 26: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt heats up with a visit from the Winter Carnival Vulcans. The hunt’s presenting sponsor – Cub Foods – and Hormel, also a Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt sponsor, will participate. KOOL 108 and the station’s KOOL KAT mascot will help host the event and prize drawings.

“Tropical Night” – Sunday, Jan. 27: Colorful leis and Hawaiian shirts will brighten the night in time for an appearance by the Winter Carnival Royal Family. The WLOL party van will pull up to help host the event and prize giveaways.

“Movie Night” – Tuesday, Jan. 29: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt goes Hollywood with Marcus Theatres and K102. Treasure hunters can watch movie trailers, munch popcorn and win theater tickets, posters and other prizes. K102 will sponsor an appearance by the Rodeo Renegades danceline and a drawing for rodeo tickets.

Time: All events will be held from 11 p.m. until midnight. Events will take place, as scheduled, unless the medallion has been found. Call the Treasure Hunt Hot Line for the current status of the hunt at (651) 228-5547.

Hi all. Any guess as to how they hid it when there wasn't much snow. I think this will be a key factor. I can't think where it could be in merrium if its there except in a snow bank. They same would hold true for other parks except in tall grasses in an undeveloped part of the park. What do you all think??

Jokysu - In my opinion - and lord knows I'm no expert - but all the clues will fit the park. It's just that our interpretation of the clues needs to fit those of the writer/hider.

That always leaves words like far and fair and woods and near, water and all like that open to what you think far, fair, woods, near, water, etc. is meaning to the clue writer.

2K2, we stand around in the cold, BS, talk clues/The Hunt, get to know each udder, discuss stratigies, parks, etc.

Then they let us in MomPress and we file in and buy papers. We hang around inside, noodling, then go outside and noodle some more.

Some go home and slog here, some go out to hunt/dig, some go eat, some go get drunk.

Terry - all clues will fit, but not necessarily every line I wouldn't think. At least from my limited experience with this hunt. Some lines look important, but it was the other lines that mattered.

skunk, it's supposed to be a blue translucent chunk of plastic. probably 2 inches in diameter, maybe an inch thick, with the seal of the treasure hunt on it. other than that, i can think of only a handful of people in here who have actually seen it up close.

for skunk man: when it was at mounds, the park wasn't identified effectively until the 9th clue. como last year was identified in the 6th clue in 97 it was identified on the 4th clue. i'll say clue 5 identified como in 90 since its the only place with a torpedo monument. just thought you might like to know for your own noodling.
