Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Mandy,

The janitor's very busy tonight. I'm checking out until the 'hazmat' team comes in.

It was an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow polka dot bikini...

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Who's on first.

Thanks Ian.

It is not going to be at Newell Park again......it was just there two years ago.....too soon. It is not at Como either.....it was there last year. As far as the fairgrounds goes, it is considered "private property", so it won't be there either. I agree with what is out on University Avenue near the U of M St. Paul campus. I was at BC and MP tonight, and it just doesn't seem right for some reason. Too easy. Although, it hasn't been at Phalen for a looooooong time, but it certainly won't be on a golf fairway (not after what happened to the Phalen course the last time it was there). Tomorrow's clue should be a good one!!

Look for something in and on the air means in=airplanes(another border) on= the song on the air.

trip= crosby was a huge druggie drunk.

  • ***

I looked at all the locations of the Medallion and compaired it to the list of parks at the St. Paul Parks web site. Crosby Farm is the only park that has not been the location yet since 1952.

Also, I stand by my earlier suggestion that it is very evident that we have a different writer this year. Potentially a gen-xer whom is more prone to writing clues with pop culture references that the traditional 'st. paul quirkyisms' or historical refferences of the past. Given all that...I think we are more likely to have a NEW location this year. Us Gen x-ers are very fond of the new and untried things.

Crosby Farm is my guess, but we'll wait for tonight's clue to confirm.

I've been looking most of my life.

The issue about Mounds is that there are burial mounds for some Native people. There once were roads that went around those and some folks just couldn't be civil and leave the burial grounds be. There was a bit of a raucous about it...not only about the hunt but the use of the park in general. Now the roads around the mounds have been taken away and there are fences to discourage anyone from climbing on them.

If anyone today would see anyone climbing within those fenced areas, I'm sure they would say something to the idiots mighty darn quick!

PP has all kinds of promotional stuff starting this saturday night to monday night I think the next several clues will be bogus..ie look for a park with lots of grass

look for a park with lots of sky over it

look for a park that has a road by it etc

Obscure is much more fun - at least this early on. I have my tried and true simple explanations for stuff...and then the wild and wooly ones for fun. I believe the truth lies between.

You probably could see KSTP if you can see it past the downtown area.

There was at least one big tower out south from the park that I noticed.

Theory 2-Newell A) A nearby radio tower B) "Fair",Fairview ave C) "I'm game", baseball fields D) Staying away from trees and trecking on hills= one half of the park has a lot of trees, and the other side has a sledding hill The only problem I see is that Newell seems like the last place they would put it now, but they may try to mislead us
