Just a different thought on this last clue... "Hey, hey, you say" Could this be a reference to the "Sey Hey Kid", Willie Mays? Or maybe just a reference to a ball park with tip and fair referring to a foul tip in baseball and fair referring to a fair ball? Don't know if anyone has said this yet, but in and on the air, could that be a radio or T.V. tower. It's in the air and transmits signals on the air. What about Tower Hill Park? It has the witch-cap looking top. There's a radio station up there (in air on air). Near the University (work the brain). There's woods. The Fairgrounds are up the road.

we thought about the fairgrounds too right where you though of actually by where all the tv and radio stands are and on and in the air could be the sky ride but then some one said that the fair is privatly owned and heres something else the last time they hid it in the fair it was back in 67
didn't look for the radio tower when i was out at hf...didn't get a lot of time to look actually...what i thought was in and on the air were the balls that hang on the wires to warn airplanes...i agree that 'on the air' works well for a radio or tv station, but that doesn't help to really narrow down parks...

the first snow slide i remember, scud was on cedar street downhill from the capitol. i remember buses having to be redirected around it before i discovered i could get to the u faster and pay less money in the process in my car.

St. Paul and Flacon Heights are two completely different cities, The medallion is on public ground in ST PAUL! Doesn't get more clear than that
no, falcon heights is a city in itself in the county of ramsey. which means that it qualifies as eligible for the sake of the rules. but. it is not st. paul. now as i said last nite, i could dig out all the legal mumbo-jumbo and point out why under the rules there are certain areas of the fairgrounds that are public even though they are privately owned, but last time i did that someone asked where i got my law degree from. and i just can't have that association with me :)

I'm back too. Merriam is a possibility. It is small, but not as small as St. Anthony or Desnoyer. Merriam at least has a hill. The thing that bothers me about all the small parks near KSTP is that with such little snow cover it will be found quickly if the clues get narrow soon.
LL, that just rules out zone 4 of Phalen. There's been talk of being able to see a tower of some sort from the north end of the lake. Also, the whole east side of the lake is park, but not shown in The Guide
Well, Ares, perhaps we should clear that up then, because in light of current events, if we haven't eliminated the capitol with any of the clues, we should all be seriously considering it.

it's real easy, steve. phalen is entirely run by st paul parks and rec. even the part that's in maplewood. so technically the maplewood half is fair game for the hunt. if they really wanted to trick us...

Focus your hunting on the Maplewood portion of the park...good idea.

Not to be to technical, Phalen is in St. Paul, however the Maplewood border is near. I use to work for St. Paul Parks.
the difference there, steve, is that battle creek is not a st. paul park. it's a county park (the signs say whose parks and rec dept. run them), which by virtue of the wording of clue 1 may well exclude it.
Guide-you are so smart. Of course. Everyone, quick, go to the Maplewood side of Phalen, where the trees are. All the clues fit perfectly there. That is where the camera crews are. They know where it is. I'll see ya all there!!

Just did some scouting....Crosby;feels like a bad movie down there..not too many peeps. Hidden Falls;bring your kevlar vest...a few peeps...no one digging or looking...Battle Creek zone 3; Ghost town...Phalen; this could be it...at least a few more peeps looking...Highland Park; by far the most activity here...20 or sp peeps...I almost got hit by the frisbee of death tho, maybe thats relative to " have no fear"!!
