The only thing is Homer and Dumas didn't write in English. Someone else

Highland has a lot of stuff that seems so logical, but it never turns out
that way. If it is in Highland, which probably is not true, it is probably on
the disc course and they will make references to the hole names. I know all of
them and some of you may too. Until I hear something in that manner, I will not
lean toward Highland.

I think far from the woods means far from a wooded area, but when you're
talking about golf clubs, you have irons and woods so there's a slight chance
it's a tricky reference to being far from a golf course instead of far from
trees. Just a guess though.

BC is very large, but not all of it is in St Paul city limits ... guess it's
worth taking 5 mins. to scrutinize the map and know where they are running the
ski games within the park relative to other possible park locations where the

The Pioneer Press and Cub Foods will host three special events for
participants in the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt who gather at the newspaper’s
downtown St. Paul headquarters to await publication of clues:
“Vulcan Night” – Saturday, Jan. 26: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt heats up
with a visit from the Winter Carnival Vulcans. The hunt’s presenting sponsor –
Cub Foods – and Hormel, also a Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt sponsor, will
participate. KOOL 108 and the station’s KOOL KAT mascot will help host the event
and prize drawings.
“Tropical Night” – Sunday, Jan. 27: Colorful leis and Hawaiian shirts will
brighten the night in time for an appearance by the Winter Carnival Royal
Family. The WLOL party van will pull up to help host the event and prize
giveaways.
“Movie Night” – Tuesday, Jan. 29: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt goes
Hollywood with Marcus Theatres and K102. Treasure hunters can watch movie
trailers, munch popcorn and win theater tickets, posters and other prizes. K102
will sponsor an appearance by the Rodeo Renegades danceline and a drawing for
rodeo tickets.
Time: All events will be held from 11 p.m. until midnight. Events will take
place, as scheduled, unless the medallion has been found. Call the Treasure Hunt

A small park is a possibility, but they would certainly have to keep people
guessing as to which one. Since there wasn't any snow earlier in the year, I

My concern with Marydale is that so much of that park is water...and with the
thinner ice this year, it might have been ruled out for safety purposes - but
only the hider knows for sure.

Allison, I would agree that the clues would have to be pretty vague to drag
things out for a smaller park. And I'm guessing that the writer had no idea if
there'd be snow or not when the clues were written. I think with a new clue
writer, we are all going to be cursing as things get dragged out to the last
days. In my estimation, these clues have been very vague to date and I think it
will continue that way.

In case anybodies interested there is an interesting collection of articles
from the pioneer press called 'visiting around St Paul Parks' by George Nason
the former city park superintendent written in 1932. It has a history of most of
the parks there old names, who donated them, etc. not as useful as I hope but
fun reading. It is at the MN history center.

Actually I'm guessing a short hunt with a new cluewriter. I suspect they will
underestimate us and give too much info. Plus the lack of snow will make hunting

Because if it was North of 694 Snail lake park has miles of walking and
biking paths all over. Snail Lake is also the name of the elementary school.
