I think Maureen is taking notes on her "I found the Winter Carnival Medallion and all I got was this t-shirt and $5,000" t-shirt. And people from the PP may read the posts, if in retrospect. While we try to get into the mind of the clue writer, perhaps the clue writer can get into our minds? He or she can look at what we post and figure out how better to stump us. He or she can also get more ideas of places to hide the medallion, how to hide it, etc.

Did some driving around town tonight (well, it wasn't *exactly* scoping...). It's too early to be cruising, but I find I can't help it. If it's only a few blocks out of the way to view a park again, and remember the details, what the heck. Of course, usually once you've gotten through THAT park and you're on the other side of it, you're that much closer to another one to drive past.

I have called and BEGGED them to come tow an idiot who never moved their car here during a snow emergency. They would park just far enough down so that as the plow pulled around, we'd end up with the mess in front of our place.

They never towed the guy and he never got tagged.

One year we just went out and shoveled all the plow leavings so he was blocked in good.

Thankfully that idiot moved on. Hope he's not in any of your neighborhoods.

terry, it's not only your responsibility to ensure that your street gets properly plowed, its your right . so, if anything like this ever happens in your neighborhood, feel free to hook it up behind your suv or a neighbors and tow it yourself. i wouldn't hesitate to, and given that its a snow emergency, no one else would either. and i'd venture to say that if the owner saw you doing it and called the police they wouldn't do a whole lot about it either. but that's just me.

my other, more brilliant idea is to abandon towing altogether. the plows are powerful enough to push at least a few cars out of the way at a time. just drop 'em off in a completely different location.

I doubt they would go to Como, Newell, or Conway again. I also severly doubt they would use Rice Park or Mears with all the lights in them. Possibly Kellogg too. I don't think they had all those lights there the last time it was there.

Well Allison I Know Como is out of it.......Harriet Island is still under Construction, Can't be Indian Mounds because the gates were closed for good last year. I still have this hunch its either Hidden Falls or my worst fear of all and the most likely choice......Phalen :(

I'm pretty sure the construction at Harriet Island is done, or at least done enough. I wouldn't rule that out. I do think Mounds is unlikely. Still not sure about Phalen. Highland Park is about due again though.

I liked Hidden Falls at first...but then it occured to me that they wouldn't do the same thing done in recent past. The year it was at Conway, Newell was the prime suspect deep into the hunt, then the next year...it was at Newell. Now last year Hidden Falls was a prime target into the hunt, I find it hard to believe they would use the same tactic so close to each other.

They have this stage they are building with this thing hanging between two towers. It probably looks like something that is under construction, but that's actually how it's supposed to look!

I don't think Hidden Falls was much a prime suspect last year as Newell was the Conway year. During the Conway hunt one of the early clues said "as well as the new" or something and everyone went to Newell. But I checked out Hidden Falls last year around clue 5 or 6 and didn't see much activity there.

It's never been at Linwood, but it would be quite interesting if they did put it there since that's where I hid my treasure in the my Mock hunt last year. If so, there would be at least a few people familair enough with it that they'd probably spot it right away. Would also be interesting to do a direct clue comparison. Let me see if I can get my clues from last year...

I think what it was, was the year it was hidden under an overpass, it was the one where 35E crosses Victoria, which is just down the hill from Linwood and visible from it, which led to my first clue...
