Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

I don't care why they do it. I hope they do make money at it. Then they're less likely to discontiue it if something goes wrong or some new bean-counter comes in trying to cut costs. So I highly doubt it would have lasted this long if it wasn't a profitable thing.

Sure has been disappointing though. I love St. Paul's history, it's such a cool City.

Your take's entirely bucks. That's not entirely MomPress's take. Granted, I will give you they want to break even... BUT....

Oh, my jaded Allison...

As long as MomPress can break even or even only go in the hole a titch, there is NO WAY this Hunt will stop.

This is St. Paul. This is MN. We're talking the history and lives and webbed (as in intwined) of the city.

Green, I know my earlier post may have appeared negative. I want you to know that that was not my intention, I simply noticed that you are a tad bit more, fired up tonight than most nites. Calling you the matriarch was not intended to be a negative thing. I apologize if you construed it as such.

The hunt has tradition, the hunt has a passion. I think Trent and Jackie weren't looking to make money off this, but to capture this passion, the excitement. And it will help capture some tradition. I don't know that people who were in it for the commercialism would be out in the freezing cold at midnight to work at watching people dig.

WHAT A FRIGGIN PIPE DREAM on sumbuddy's part!

I've seen Jackie in tears over the stories of "I really need to find this; I've no money." I've listened to both her and Trent voice their awe, "Wish we could have been looking since we were kids..."

I've sat with them as they've edited tape... "You know, a Cooler Head's just gotta find it this/next year!"

Check out our website! www.coolercrew.com!!!! Join the Cooler Crew for the Torchlight Parade, Saturday, February 2nd, 6:00 start time!! Staging at 10th and Cedar St. Stay tuned for further details!

Good Morning!

I just have to step in here and say something about all the dissension rising here.

Everyone's opinion has value.

Everyone. Young, old, in-between.

Everyone has the right to voice those opinions about the hunt and the Winter Carnival that it is a part of. That's what this forum is about.

If you believe you have knowledge beyond what someone is saying, share the knowledge and let's knock off the chastising.

No one wants to come in here and share the fun of the hunt with a bunch of know-it-alls who just tear down what someone else shares.

The hunt went on long...very long before this forum was even a twinkling in someone's eye. It's been a fun tool the past few years. Let's not ruin it.

Everyone who participates here is a member of the cooler crew. This is not an exclusive club.

Every single member of this crew should be treated with respect whether one agrees with something that is said or not. If you don't agree, state why, again share your knowledge, agree to disagree all the while being respectful and if one can't muster being respectful because someone said something you can't be respectful about, ignore it!

I do understand the passion felt here. Passion needs to be tempered though with some sort of common sense, courtesy and respect or that passion will drive others away.

That is NOT what the PP had in mind when they provided this forum...at least that's my humble opinion.

This hunt has been a part of my life from early on when I would talk about clues with my Mother who went out and hunted during the night with her friend. There has never been a hunt from the time I was a little kid that I missed participating in one way or another.

I participated in this forum at least a couple years before most of you found this place. I have found it a fun way to share ideas. I'd hate for it to become some place where people wouldn't feel comfortable sharing opinions.

Remember...the same thing seen by several eyewitnesses is seen from different perspectives. Does that make one right and the other wrong? No! It's a matter of perspective and perception.

Now...I'll get off my soapbox and get to work.

Good morning, everyone. Pulled out my medallion binder last night to look things over and start to refresh my "thinking hat". Boy, a year sure does go by fast. The PP hiders are going to have to be clever this year. I really don't think we'll have an inch of snow on the ground even with prospects of snow in the forecast.

I am a little sad at the thought that I'm going to miss out of this initiation that goes on. I am a firm believer that one must see to actually understand the ritual. My suggestion is that Scribe goes first as "example" of how the process is done. Any others on that idea?
