Yeah, guess she isn't. LL, my name comes from Scooby Doo. After a lot of episodes, the captured villain a lot of times would say something like "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!" So I altered a bit to fit the hunt, and voila! Bye bye Scribe, have fun!

"I'd be there, but I have to ask the hubby/wife to watch the kids." "I couldn't find a babysitter so am stuck here." "The kids were getting cold so we had to come back."

Devils Den is the key to your success. you find devils den, you find the most prized possesion...the biggest most entity of all time, the medallion!

hell, i need some thoughts.

1998- the cooler crew begins. hidden at chair-o-key. 1999- PP is aware of the many posts for all to view, and try to throw us off w/ conway...a new park. 2000- PP tries to throw us off again, so newell (a small 10 acre park) is their answer. it was an obvious mistake ending after 7 clues. 2001- PP throws us off again. puts medallion in the biggest park in st. paul (450 acres) como is tough, but still found in 9 clues. it was only 4 years since last there.

2002- HOW WILL THE PP THROW US OFF??

The game has definately changed in the last few years.

new park? small park?

...bottom line: it has to be a park w/ LOTS of PARKING!

thoughts???????????????????????????????????????

battle creek, huh?

wanna raise hell on the city of maplewood? dont like the 1/2 st. paul and 1/2 maplewood scenario there....however, it is definately a possiblilty this year.

is it safe to say harriet island is out? there is a lot of steel and construction going on there right now.

HIDDEN FALLS may top my list! that plcae is huge...other thoughts??

2.)Definitely Ramsey County

Lesson two:

9 times out of 10 you are not smarter than everybody else.If all of St.Paul has decended on a particular park chances are good they are right and you are wrong.

well, some people on here have some crazy thoughts every year. No, it wont ever be at the same park 2 years in a row, nor will it be at indian mounds or mears, irvine. i believe capitol mall is out, and langford in 1991 was a one time deal.

however....

merriam is a 17 acre park that could be a possiblility as a new park. marydale is 25+ acres and it has been there b4.

lots of possibilities.

but let's not just throw out names of parks with no statement to follow that makes you consider it. to say "Phalen!" or "I think its at Highland" is pointless w/o backup or personal thoughts to lead you to a conclusion.

thats right...

Good Evening!

Keep an open mind folks! There are no rules for hiding the thing...other than it be on public land. It won't be on a golf course and unless the PP wants a big lawsuit, it won't be in Maplewood. After that it's a crap shoot. It could very well be in the same park two years in a row, it could be at Phalen, it could be a Mounds, it could be at a rec center.

She found the earmuffs. She wanted to keep them. I had her look around at all the office buildings around the Capital Mall and I gave her the mothering story that someone probably dropped them going to or from work and she should put them back. That was like 3 or 4 clues into the hunt. Later when we heard that it was found in one of the ears of those earmuffs, she swore she'd never hunt again if when you find it, your mother makes you put them back.

I dont know if I have a favorite previous hunt. Cherokee was fun because it was near my old stomping grounds, and that is my first time really getting into the hunt. Conway was fun, being there for so long, digging and digging, seeing everyone out there digging up the ice rinks the night before it was found. Newell was the worst, because I missed out on it some, and it was found so quickly. Last year was really fun because I got to know a lot more people better. The friendships made would probably make it the best.

She's putting it back? Boy will she be kicking herself! Since we're going to be here longer, care to go get us some coffee?"

I don't even think there were spotters out there yet. We were about the only group out there at that point. Very early in the hunt and the snow was about an inch of fluff...easily kicked through...no digging necessary.

I suspect that if Steve wants to sell more of those guides, he'll have them at the pre-dig gig. He has in the past. He'll usually autograph them for the buyer as well.

Okay here's my rant:

I'm testing a dance on tuesday.I went to Roseville for a late night public skate.I don't mind skating with the public it's not a problem...and it's cheap practice ice.So I get there and I'm the only one that shows up for public skate tonight, great! I get the rink to myself! Oh NO! The kids that work there come out with sticks and pucks. Now I have made deals with hockey players before,I get 1/2 the rink and they get 1/2 and as long as the pucks and sticks stay on their side I'm fine......but not tonight! I was dodging pucks all over the place! By rights this was public skating,no pucks and sticks allowed and I payed my money....these kids WORKED there....so instead of kicking their butts or their cars...I left after I TRIED to practice for 45 minutes........

There I'm fine now.

Hey Scribe hows it going? I was talking to you before. The nice thing about the hunt this year is that there is no snow on the ground. Meaning they will hide it inside of something. If I can recall the last two times there was no snow they hid it in clay with grass ontop of it. Hmmmmmmm. Im lookin at the 15 day forecast and no snow in sight. Phalen or Hidden Falls/Crosby maybe Harriet Island but its under some reconstruction.
