I was watching a bit of James Bond last night, and it got me thinking. If
they can make all sorts of cool gadgets for Bond, think of the great tools they
could come up with for the medallion hunt.

I'm still here. You can prepare in various ways. Make sure you have all your
digging tools. Get out the warm clothing. Let work know about any vacation time
you'll use. Get food for eating out while digging, or easy stuff for kids or
spouses to prepare while you're out. Make sure your lights or lanterns have
batteries or enough fuel. Get your button. Eat your vitamins. Say your
prayers....

Good evening all. I have just come to the concluson I HAVE to win this thing
this year. Do you have any idea how expensive hockey equipment is??? Holy Carp!
I just went out to price it today. This is my sons first year so he only has
skates, shin guards, elbow pads and helmet. All of which is provided by Ramsey
County Park and Re. Alexander does have his own skates, but they didn't cost me
much, actually he got those for free from the Disney on Ice cast when he skated
with them.

Good evening all. Just taking a short break from work, well actually long
break after reading all the posts from today. My eyes are now dried out after
reading the screen so much. Some great laughs though.
How is everyone this evening?
I don't have much time to talk, because I have so much work to finish before
Monday, but I have been thinking about the cooler all day. Just needed to feed
the addiction.

Terry - Only working Saturday because of a huge project at work due in March.
Working lots of overtime with no more pay. It is horrible. I will sure take off
the time to make it to the pre-dig gig. Just mentioned it to my husband today.
Just need to find the babysitter, but I bet grandma would help out. She used to
do the hunting. Now she does the sittin' while grandpa and I hunt.

Jokysu, I used to have that kind of work...lots of hours and no pay over the
40 hours. I got my life back about 2 years ago. I now work a 40 hour week...any
over is paid time and a half...and I couldn't be happier. I understand what
you're saying.
My Mom used to do the hunting too...back in the 50's and 60's. Now she just
helps noodle clues and used to take care of the kids. (My kids are now adults.)
Jokysu - 08:58pm Jan 5, 2002 CST (#1065

TMK - you could charge enough to make up for not finding the medallion. You
could probably even make more, and you would be inside staying warm. I think
that would work.

Joky- If you have skates for them, then give them something of their height
that is sturdy which they can push around. Like maybe a little chair. Something
that they can balance on, hang on to with their hands. And just have them out
with you if you're skating. The more they are out, the better they will get.

I thought not just any fool could find it. What
kind of lie is that?
Jokysu- a plastic chair to have them support themselves is always good. at
that age the key is staying up. once they get comfortable on skates, they will
be able to "push" the chair by walking on skates. go from there.

Jokysu - 09:02pm Jan 5, 2002 CST (#1071

TMK - my little guy has $20 dollar skates and a $50 dollar helmet. I quickly
learned that hockey wasn't cheap. There is a rink across from our house, so we
could skate everyday. He loves being on the rink with boots, but not with
skates. He could stay out all day on his boots, but in skates he says he "gets
cold" even though we have been out of the warming house only 30 seconds.
He walks great in skates in the warming house, and can stand alone on the
ice, but won't move his feet on the ice. Suggestions?

TLD - generous in the summer when its warm. However when digging in very cold
MN, don't take to being too generous. If I am freezing and digging out there,
then all who share in the "cold cash" should be freezing and digging with me. Or
maybe just out there holding the flashlight. hehehe :)

TLD - I'm sorry to hear that. I had a little boy that I took care of for
about a year. He was just about impossible to take anywhere because he would
take off, turn a corner, talk to anyone or go with anyone without warning. It
was the only time I ever used a kiddy leash...but I know it was what kept him
safe when we were out and about.
Jokysu - 09:20pm Jan 5, 2002 CST (#1098

What is up with my english. Can't even spell cries correctly. Must be getting
tired.
As for the leashes, I think there are some good times to use them. You just
need to keep the slack a little closer so that you don't get the kids caught on
people or things. My son likes the independence he has when he has on his
harness. He is allowed to do many things without me having to hold his hand. We
have stoped many a tantrums with it. No more having to hold him back from things
just because he needs to be close.
Jokysu - 09:21pm Jan 5, 2002 CST (#1099
