I've been in and around COMO pretty much all day, and here's my 2 cents (and that may be slightly overvalued).
I think it is near Como, but not in Como. There's been no mention of a park, we've been told to be bold (possibly hidden somewhere new this year), and that it is going to be a tough hunt. Get away from the herd(large herd currently at Como)Como may also refer to Como Ave. rather than park.

Exactly what I have been saying for some time now.....not on base, means off base in military terms, there are other military references - so it is probably near a park, perhaps Como, but not IN the park. Glad I am not the only one that realizes this possibility! whew!

I was at the firepit too, and while the medallion hasn't been found yet, it was still a good time. I don't have a car either, so I know how it is, sure I can always take an MTC, but at Midnite you may get to the park (or may not) but how would you get back? I used to drive, but don't anymore....anyway, one could always get some sleep now, and wake up at midnite to do the digging, therefore you'd still be alert for work and school. I don't think I will get out there tonight myself.

Hello All..... Tried to watch the superbowl but I cant get my mind of this damn hunt... so I decided to skip watching it.
J - I will check back later when it gets near clue time to see if anyone is going out. Until then, I am staying put.
I have slogged on and off all day too. I did come to one possible link - the gates at Hamline and Midway were put up by the WPA in 1937. This was a FDR organization (man of mettle) and it dealt with the depression.

Thanks all....I don't think I will be going out tonight after this clue. I still wonder whether Como is the right place or not...I still think Phalen has a shot, but no one will no until the next clue (or until it is found). I can't imagine digging in a large park like Como. I looked around at the Capitol Mall and couldn't figure out how anyone would start digging unless there was a very specific clue. Now if things shift to looking down here (downtown) then we may see you. I suppose one could always call a cab if they got real desperate and like me, don't have a car.

How is everyone this evening? How many were out hunting today?
I thought I would just do a drive by at Como, but I got the urge dig, so I spent some time out there with my dad and tried to figure out where the next clue might point us. Lots of people digging in lots of places. It was really funny to see where others thought it might be.

Well of course there is Wheelock Pkwy which runs into (links to) Phalen Drive where the entrance of the park is I see there is a Clear Ave in the park, but traveling the old way and riding around could just mean by a bike/pedestrian path, and it looks like there is one of those near the entrance. and the Gillette Hosp Bldg has been restore to be the MN Humanitiees Commission and I believe there is a Memory Hall there? I could be mistaken.

Leah- The firepits are down the hill from the playground. Shouldn't be too hard to find. From the rides, walk towards the trolley, going past it. You'll see the playground. Go past it, and down the hill are the firepits. We'll be ieither there or up near the parking lot
