It's going to be funny when the park is finally pinpointed - it's going to be decended upon like a locust plague!!
WW, I went through the Guide checking every street that touches every park, and Desoto was the one that made any sense as any form of transportation, at least as far as I could tell.
How would that tie in, SueBee????
drove by Newell today around 11 on my way somewhere else - maybe one car in the parking lot, no people that I could see
nevermind not enough sleep
I'd choke if it were at Newell again
nevermind not enough sleep
Not quite sure yet, Green. I just kinda like the inference
Rite now, all I know for sure, and I'm not even sure o'that!!! LOL!!! Izz that the silly thing IS somewhere in the universe!
The medallion is totally at highland. The busiest street is snelling, the man of mettle is snelling. It all points to highland. Everything is so clear.
Green, even us old people think there's a bit of "throwing us off" going on around here.....
You know Allison, you could have made your mode of transportation an "Edsel" and then you could come to HF with me LOL
hmm, thats a daughting task. i was about to do, then i saw how daughting it was. so thats good at least. but theirs what about vintage aircraft? famious trains? people who made the street car? old roads that were changed? its just too broad to suddenly say AA
well I think I'm going to PP tonight- but going to hunt immediately after _ anyone interested in me calling in the clue??
capital mall, and AA are on map we're gonna go check them out, is anybody gonna be out there in the next couple hours
If you want to keep digging at Como Brandon, that's fine with me.
Diggin'... But we're to steer clear o'clear!!!
we might be posting it, i got a buddy that stood in line last night and we were the first to post
As i was saying, the busiest street is university, and lots of space is the universe, and that all points to Iris, it has got to be at iris. I am going there right away.
huge JOE comin'
where is iris
SueBee>> I know!!! I would probably end up calling the PP and swearing alot!!
JOE MAMA
That is it, the medallion is at COMO--PERRY COMO RULES
My gut instinct is that they would put it at Highland for the 50th anniversary, but can't match all the clues...Ford, Peace, open space
Is there really an Edsel street in HF? I didn't see it. Looked like "Elsie St" to me.
not actually though :)
Iris my eye! Its in Hidden Falls......just ask the amish.
Like i was saying, i still feel it is in the Valley--Right next to the REC Center...Meet me at the VALLEY
It could still be at Highland I guess.
Methinks DiggingAnimal is trying to throw people off a bit now.
My guess is Newell....I don't know why, but it is. I think they have a vendetta or something and they want us to suffer.
Like "think of traveling the old way again" as in our trips to Newell every damn day last year!
And "circular thinking" to be Wheeler street or the year '00 to "link" us to a park. Maybe link this years clues to last year's.
Just this wierd feeling in me i guess.
I liked HF until the play thing. There's not a playground down there.
The medallion is surely at MARYDALE, all the clues fit..it is so perfect!!
circular fits, out of view fits, depression fits, riding around fits....
I'm jumping on the NEWELL bandwagon also, it has got to be there, with the circular thinking and all..EVERYONE TO NEWELL
Tbones, there may be some. But the adults don't do it - generally.
Maybe it just takes being around here awhile and getting the feel for things. And being confident in one's take of the clues. Speaking only for myself, I can generally tell when I'm being fed a line. But I've been going thru this for four years.
I just ignore those I think are trying to throw me off. Bringing them to task only gives them what they want: attention. Let them do their damndest. I know what I know, I know what I don't know, and I go with my best abilities on figuring out the clues.
And most often times, I'm in The Frog Pond! LOL!!!
Digginganimal- do you have multiple personalities??? You keep saying a diff place just about everytime you post:)
I'm with you sue, frustrating.
Sup Ya'll. I havent been in here since about 4:45, and dont really feel like going back and reading 800 posts. So can someone fill me in...is everyone still stuck in basically the same parks as before?
Let me just say I hate my computer at times. Leah, I was going to ask, what parks do you live by? And is your daughter coming with you tonight?
hey digginganimal what is next on your list of parks that all the clues fit perfectly
Me & my nephew the Undertaker where digging at Como and we watch a fellow treasure hunter collaspe in the snow. The paramedics came and took her away. Thankfully she seem to be standing when the medics got there. All the excitment and digging must have caused her to faint or have a seisure. Also someone in the park suggested that clue 5 about the man of steel could mean a Knight in shining armor. The guy was going to head to battle creek park because McKnight Ave goes by there. Any thoughts on this theory?
was saying that earlier with newell, esepcailly with the word "duel" and how they repeated things allot
As i have just proven, none of us have any clue. I have thought my brains out and i guess i will wait till the next clue. It will either talk about Arlington, cotton, Waterfalls, or Bing Crosby
Green, I would like to go to visit Ma Press. Where is she exactly?
Kids- I live in the Midway area- and no she's probably not coming, she still getting over a week long flu!! Are U going out tonight?
Sue, this might be way off but you could play at HF with a boat in JUNE!
Step! That was WONDERFUL noodling about Newell!
I've not even considered Newell because, well... It was there last year. But you sure do give good thoughts on why it COULD be again this year!!!
I think I'm too tired and too confused to consider another park... But I can't wait to find out more about Newell!!!
Hey lets all admit we don't know where the things is or we would have it.
was down their last night, since i was computer ridding for a while
Well, its really cool to see that I can come in here, and ask a question addressed to ANYONE and still get no response.
OK Green...I have other thoughts.
Night Digger:
I link Knight to having a relation to Harding High School. The only park very close though is Eastview, which does not fit the last two clues. The Battle Creek neighborhod, where I live, could fit, but so could every other major park in St Paul. If I was to say, the part of Battle Creek containing the caves down by Highway 61 would fit the best, but some stretches need to be assumed.
Oh crap, ya know what? Como looks better all the time. Todays clue - open space (fields at Como), off base (ball fields at Como), victorious one (Victoria street runs along the east side of Como park) riding around (caroussel at Como). I just don't like the too obscure thoughts on the man of steel/mettle thing
I don't feel like digging, but I'm thinking of heading out anyway and going somewhere. Maybe I'll go see who's digging where.
Allison, do you know the address o'Mom Press? I just know how to get there.
Ittiz on the street that ends at Kellogg Park - with the red Salavating Army pot o'lites.
Leah: I live near HP and HF. I hope she gets soon well. I had the flu last week, and it is definitely not fun. And not fun having to take care of those with it either. I would like to go out, and will likely go to PP if I can figure out where it is exaactly.
I like the east-west clue. That eliminated Brazil and Vancouver off of my list.
Kellogg & 5th
green, 345 cedar between 4th and 5th
Hey all - we are thinking of going down to get the paper and then going out again tonight.
I'm not going to admit I don't know where it is. But that's what I don't like about this whole thing. Even if you figure out the park on clue #1, you're still not lkely to find it because you don't know where in the park to look exactly. It typically takes hundreds of people a couple of days of digging before any of them will find it.
Whats up with yall? i m in here every day talkin and givin my insight into stuff, and yet, when i come in here and talk, i get ignored?? It would lead a clown to believe that people around here dont like new comers.
so is anyone going to go to any parks tonight?
Kids do you need a diggin Partner by chance?
PP= 345 Cedar Ave.
Violen J - nothing terrible new Allison still thinks AA, many think Como, no real consensus
Leelabell- were you the one that was wearing a blue coat at AA 2-day?
that was my hubby - I was wearing red coat.
Thanks Sue.
OH LOL I seen you to then.
green ittiz 345 cedar street
Leah: Possibly. I haven't really done any digging today. Done scouting, and will likely continue to unless I feel really good about tonight's clue. I suppose I'll see you at the PP tonight with everyone else here practically :)
chill Violent J, it's not personal. Some get caught up in conversations and it's not real time. Just listen for a bit and you'll catch up pretty quick.
Allison Wonderland: I mimic your thoughts EXACTLY about digging so far this year. I don't feel like doing it, but I feel like I should go somewhere. In past years, I at least felt like I had a reason to be in a certain park. Nothing's working for me this year. All I'm thinking is "big park." I should be a lot closer after seven clues.
DD - you going to get the clue?
I gotta to'un fro for a bit. Gotta get suited up again to brave the cold...
Bock in a bit!
Did you go back there Crazy after 4?
anybody going elsewhere? other than Ma Press? like Como? Are there lots of diggers out there? Has anyone been to AA lately?
AW-- exactly! I always go to the park positive i'm gonna find it... then when I get there, i'm like "welp, that was fun, now timw to leave"...
AW - you going out after clue time?
Allison- I just drove by after I tried to find somebody @ como. I still didnt see very many people
Ya'll keep a look out for the clowns tonight. If the clue is any good. We finna be out there at whatever park it points to, diggin EVERYTHING up. And up until now (possibly) We ourselves have been harder to spot than the Medallion itself.
It seems like they are almost teasing us with these clues...
Like in clue #1 Last year at Newell our fate was most cruel,
Unfortunately the game ended too soon
Come now and prepare for a much tougher duel,
Keep on your toes or you'll hunt until June
East and west can simply mean the east and west sides of the park...playground, b-ball courts, tetherball on the west.....and just a baseball field on the east...."stay off base"
The man of mettle could simply be Pierce Butler again...."look for his name AROUND OUR DEAL"
Another noodle about "off base" could be:
The prize is at a place with lots of space
Where riding around can be fun
But you'll have to move off base
If you hope to be the victorious one
Actually that's not quite what I was thinking Greg. I know what park its in, I just don't feel like looking for it right now. Too cold and too dark. I was just thinking I feel like getting out of the house.
And its not in a big park.
Stepp - I like your theory, but I just can't or won't believe it. If it is there, you get to claim dibs on calling the park.
Allison- So your ruling out AA?
Hey Gang: In my younger years i grew up around this park, it had a merry go round three ball fields hockey rink.... i used to ride around the strrets that surround this park.... thar was fun ( ridding around can be fun ) Berwood sounds good to me... every body to berwood.... north on 35e off at co.rd E right behind wal mart. the damn thing has never been hidden that far noth to me and berwood is what seperates east and west side of berwood ave...
don't do this to me, dan. you're starting to convince me it's in newell.
Adios for now- if you see me in my pink coat tonight- say hola
crazyfortreasure50....are you Melissa's mom?
good point Stepp. Any digging going on tonight? Anyone going to AA?
DR. thats in Vadnais heights or something like that
Hey Gang: In my younger years i grew up around this park, it had a merry go round three ball fields hockey rink.... i used to ride around the strrets that surround this park.... thar was fun ( ridding around can be fun ) Berwood sounds good to me... every body to berwood.... north on 35e off at co.rd E right behind wal mart. the damn thing has never been hidden that far noth to me and berwood is what seperates east and west side of berwood ave...
I might dig after the clue if its not too cold. I'd be more willing to go out somewhere afterwards and just discuss it. I suppose I can come back here and do that though.
forgive me if someone has made this observation already, but wouldn't AA be a perfect choice to revealed in clue 12--as in twelve steps.
yea its in vadnais what off it? its the perfect spot for it!
Where's Arudnel Street?
"Around Our Deal."
yea its in vadnais what off it? its the perfect spot for it!
Hope to see you later Leah :)
Well you all Ill be thinking about you guys around 11:30 but Im off to the club now. You guys have fun=) good luck
yea its in vadnais what off it? its the perfect spot for it!
yea its in vadnais what off it? its the perfect spot for it!
No, I'm ruling out everything BUT AA.
We are going to go somewhere. Scribe wants to go to that ball field. AA also looks good. I also kinda like MLK/Rondo. I supposed we should go to the paper and figure out what everyone else is going (we hate Country music too).
Sorry, y'all. I'm late on this AA thought. Arlington/Arkwright?
Dave, is this your pick, or are you hiding your thoughts?
Ares - In my humble opinion, these clues are just too vague to mean anything else.
Leelabell, you don't know where you guys are goin? I am not going to go down to the paper. As soon as Prymzsphere gets home, we are gonna try out Mc Murray, I think... would like to know where everyone is going to be.... :)
AA is my pick and yes, its Arlington Arkwright
step, and that's why the only thing's i've used to move snow thus far have been my car tires and my shoes.
A/A thought is a bunch of crap..that's my opinion. This is what I my thought..take a park where it would never be found logically..then negate that and make it a park that it will always be found..therfore all other parks are the negative of the negative..making it that the only park that it isn't in is the negated one..which of course is A/A..it you don't to find it funny..oh well.
Where's Arundel Street?
HAY, Greg!
Jordenn - will see you down there, I guess
i'm lookin' i'm lookin' green.
Joe Shuma--Huh?
Yeah...you lost me too joe!
it's 3 blocks east of dale, green.
ahh, im thinking irvine or newell at moment, though havent ruled out any other park in the world. green, any thoughts bout todays clue and battlecreek?
Thanks, Ares!
Winger-testify for Irvine, if you will please.
no prob.
WW, I've given up on BC.
Hey Allison This is Rob memeber me from last year as TheRock4927? Anyways i see this AA thing your talkin about im just curious how big is that park?
hi we wear at come mo2 hr
Have we all forgotten that they didn't include "park" in any of the clues. For all we know, it couldbe on the side of the road along a park er somethin...
Im also wondering what you got out of todays clue, what roads are by this AA park.
Ares - you still thinking Como??
well, old and new shepard road for travel. big round gazeebo thingie, i forgot about the man irvine, so i cant discuss him. i havent got a chance to make a full case yet, just some thoughts, banks of river maybe too
Allison? Do you completely rule out battle creek hidden falls and Phalen? Even Como?
yuppers step, which is why i asked you to knock off your newell theory. you're starting to convince me :)
it says "beloved St. Paul", "wonderful town", "proper place", "our deal", "a place"
Winger--I also thought of the shepard road connection. You have put together more than I did, however. Something to think about, thanks. Woah! Rush album palinjoe!
Does anybody think that "Memory Lane" may refer to an "old" road along a freeway, such as Point Douglas Road (old US 61) or Old Hudson Road (old US 12)???
AA is about the same size as Conway, though about half of it is wooded (with clearings) I got "Desoto" from todays clue which borders AA on the east.
um you have to ride around the park due to the way the streets are. stay off base (maybe thier is no baseball field at park, thats why they say that). and theirs a play ground. or you can sled on the hill their too
I am sticking with Newell till the clues TELL me to go somewhere else!!
I had kind of an epiphany with the newell theories and can't go back now!
Hey, JOE you already said that.
evening e1... on the lines of fortune cookies... i got a fortune cookie the other day with dinner that read," HELP! I'm trapped in a cookie factory!!"
In my opinion, it is only a question of where in AA, not if.
Well..where is everyone thinking? I am in ca-hoots with Allison..and we feel that AA is the place.
Step>> same here... i am convinced!
What about Wheelock Parkway...does anyone make anything of that? i.e. Linking and circular thinking....
there are circular balls on the wires at Hidden Falls...
what about Churchill Ave. near Como?? That could be the sig. person...
Michelle - how did he convince you?
I am soooo frickin' confused I don't even care any more!! I'm for Newell!!
oh, and allison, resistance is not futile :)
Allison =
"DESOTO" is why you are so sure it's there??? How do the other clues fit?
Has anyone volunteered to get the clue tonight?
My hubby is also with AW at AA.
Who all is going to AA tonight???
Geepers....finally caught up, all that damn sloggin could do some real brain damage!
heres a nut for the squirrels to chase along the HF theory... steer, herd... what about elsie (the cow) street that runs into the park...lmao
DIGGINDUDE - NEWELL IT IS....IF ONLY US 2!!!
Huh? AW???
Step....I completely see your point. Have you been there since you've had this theory?
Allison - when we saw him earlier he said you were not yet convinced. My hubby and I will probably go again to AA at some point after the clue comes out.
YESS!!!
Pryzm - I am going to take a journey out there tomorrow afternoon and scope it out. I guess tonights clue will be a big one.
Does anybody think that "Memory Lane" may refer to an "old" road along a freeway, such as Point Douglas Road (old US 61) or Old Hudson Road (old US 12)???
Well let's see. If you go for the obvious, the man of steel is Superman and the man of mettle would be Clark Kent (who else would REALLY make sense there?) Clark St. also runs into the park. I'm thinking the circular thinking means think of balls, like softballs, basketballs, tennis balls, all of which you can play there. I think the east west is just a way of saying where in the park it is. Its a new park for the hunt, which makes sense with being bold. And there's a lot of open hilly space where you could go sledding.
I am following AW. He's been right the last two years! And before everyone else! So, technically, if he had more help, he could have won then--both times! So...I believe his theories about AW.
steer = drive??
Ares, I gotta leave...
brb-- im off to do some research!!
later green.
checkin out arundel?
Allison, I thought it was at Valley Rec Center? Now you're SURE it's in Arlington?
Give me a break.
Arlington is a horrible place in town. I wouldn't go there at night for any length of time :P
think AA fits as well as MLK with Kent street, as opposed to Clark street
Hey Matt, dont be afraid, if someone tries to punk on your ass at AA, all you gotta do is go BACK OFF NINJA! IM A JUGGALO!! and they run for tha hills...worx everytime.
Valley didn't fit the new clues that came out, but AA does. And yes, I'm sure its AA. And I live not too far from it.
No. I was waiting for you to tell me what you found. I gotta hit Mom Press.
AW has already been wrong.
I don't approve of the cooler anymore. It's turned into a bandwagon clique with people that merely respeculate their theories every day, changing them if they need to be changed (nobody reads the thousands of messages from YESTERDAY, so you really wouldn't know what this person said WAS the area of the medallion then).. of course, it's strewn with useless remarks and "hi hello" chats.
When it was in Conway and Cherokee 2 and 3 years ago, this place was a center of information, discussion, problem solving. Now it's "Hey I know where it is, go to my yahoo club to find out."
I don't approve.
hit her for me for writing such vague clues :)
AHHHHHH.....All these good ideas....I can't take this anymore!
I agree....tonight is gonna be the one that directs my shovel! Although...I'm still not fully convinced that it is a park.
Aha, the truth comes out! Thats why AW likes AA so much. He lives near it!
See thats the thing AW, if your positive that its there, and you live not too far away, why not go look there, you got an hour and a half. You gotta try and SYKE your mind out Ninja, cause the first place your gonna want it to be is right damn near your house.
I don't think they are actually talking about Superman here..it doesn't fit with what the whole clue is trying to say...
well, matt, if you don't approve of the cooler, nothing's saying you have to come in here. and i read every post that comes through here, even if it takes me 2 hours to get current in the morning.
Are you the same Matt who used to post a naked picture of himself as a logo?
Ok...boys...be nice! It's only a hunt! :)
I know before any of you write "so don't come in here then," that I will see this message. I use the Internet as a tool regardless of how rusty and dirty those tools become. I have full clearence to gripe about what I don't approve of.
Matt:
I agree.
Plus, when you make a comment with a new idea, nobody responds. Isn't this where you can get some different viewpoints on your ideas, and not have people just ignore any idea that is not directly from them??
Allison - I remember that!! LOL
No one needs to approve of anything. Plain and simple, if you (or anyone) don't like it here= leave. Period.
What Matt? Are you the clue writer???
I was out there twice already. Its cold and dark out there now and I don't really feel like digging through the snow in what is likely to be a futile effort, even if I do have the right park. I was one of the first people at Conway and that didn't help me.
Matt VJ You are correct sir AA is a waste of space hypodermic needles and all
AW: that was a bet and I lost between myself and another cooler member :) I can't argue with that. :P
Hell yeah, I hardly ever even post anything in here, becasue I just get ignored all the damn time. The only person that ever responded to me is dabrewguy, but I aint seen him 'round for a few days.
Hey, Matt, heres another useless quote for ya. if all your gonna do is sit there and diss us, and say were full of crap, why dont you just leave and try to find it by yerself? What? thats right? because you couldnt. You see, you came here, because of the same reason we all came here, because WE DONT KNOW WHERE ITS AT! and we try and put our heads together to find out if we can get anywhere closer. and thats why we came up with all these "useless parks". Ninja, Chill out. Dayam.....you got my makeup sweatin off.
Today I spent some time at AA, Phalen, Como, Newell, Highland and Iris. I will only return to AA, unless future clues are contradictory.
I was pretty sure about Valley, the clues did fit quite well until Clue 5, but you have to remember, new clues come out every day. Its stupid to keep saying the same thing if it doesn't work anymore. But now I'm completely sure about AA. If its not AA, then I'll just admit I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I don't think that will happen.
shaggy, during this time in the hunt, with the 200 (that's what, one every 15-20 seconds) or so posts that appear each hour, it's sometimes difficult to respond to each posting that shows up.
Cougar: I believe I remember you from before.
This place used to be filled with thoughtful, reserved, and open minded discussion. Since I started looking through the posts this year (I skim them now, rather than intently read and note what people are saying like years past), I have not endorsed this website to any of my fellow hunters. It's a poorly maintained machine now.
Jordenn: Plain and simple, this is something that I used to visit very frequently, and I don't like seeing it dissolve into someone's ring of friends. I don't want to abandon a malfunctioning machine. I want to fix it.
Like StepDogg said earlier...Memomory Lane and it being the same clue in which the med was found last year, do you think the 7th clue relates to this years hunt at all?? After all, a lot of people did think the clues would relate...
A pleasant scene and a turning machine Might help you court our treasure It's there somewhere in between If you can make the right measure
The thing you gotta understand about us clowns, is that behind all this makeup, and when we dont have shovels.....and axes....and whatever else in our hands, were just regular people like ya'll...and like Shaggy just said....yeah, I agree, its hard for a new Ninja to get along in here. Especially if we got new ideas.
don't know how to make it in seperate lines... oh well
Hi All....worked last night & worked today....missed all that great weather to go diggin!..(i was bummed!) Glad to see everyone is still as confused as I am!! And so glad it is still out there for me to find!
and I don't like seeing it dissolve into someone's ring of friends
matt, since the press has had the medallion hunt chat room, that's what this has become as people start to get to know other people not only by reputation on the board, but also out in the field, and i don't see that there's nothing wrong with this. which is why the "shoot the breeze" thread exists: mom p doesn't think so either.
Hey - It was ALOT more fun when everyone NOODLED *RIGHT OR WRONG* than arguing about the cooler!! Come on....we are all trying to do the same thing and that is find this stupid medallion. Geez, no wonder nobody from the cooler ever finds it. :)
Look ya'll this is useless. If your gonna punk out and leave, then do so. But check this. The rest of us that finna stay here, we gotta get along, til this whole thing is over. So lets do just that. Gimme a WOO WOO if you agree.
Matt, well this is a room full of cooler crew members so many of them do know each other and are friends. I, personally, am new here this year--though I have been searching for the medallion for 5-6 years. I just don't think there is anything for you to fix. You did not start this site, so you can not maintain or fix it. I suppose you would be welcome to start your own and then you could limit the 'chitchat' that goes on in there. Just an idea. I, on the other hand, don't mind what anyone is saying as long as they are not being an ass to someone--but then, I just ignore them or I leave... problem solved. Good luck to you during this hunt! :)
hi shag.....
WOO WOO Violent J....Take 'em to the "house of horrors" baby!!!
Jordenn - going to PP at 11:00?
Straight up SteppDawg
Violent J: I believe we're on somewhat the same side.
Of course I don't know where the goddamn medallion is. I would have picked it up. That's not an intelligent question to ask.
I have THEORIES, and I THEORIZE them. I don't say that I know where the medallion is hidden. I don't brag about being the first person to track down the location of the park, the color of the enclosure, or how many feet it is from the curb. That's ludicrous. Do you know how many people are much more experienced than those that brag about being there before anyone else? There are old-timers that have been doing this for more than 20 years. They're experts. They're quiet, they don't need to use a computer, and they've been where you're thinking. I see them, I talk to them, I respect them and what they think.
Saying every thing that seems logical at the time and then trying to take credit for it being right is silly. I looked at Valley Rec the same day AW did, and I thought it was a decent idea. I looked at Phalen, I thought it was a decent idea. I look at Como and Highland, I think they're decent ideas. I discount them when I have too many negative aspects noted. Phalen's gates were closed in the middle of the night. Valley rec center is full of kids all day. I need not go on. These cliques that I see appear because someone talks about what's on their mind is not a good thing. Everyone used to talk, everyone used to constructively argue and prove/disprove everyone else. I'm sad to see that not the case anymore.
I will go out and hunt when I see the clue, as I have every other time a clue has been released. I may not get out of the car, I may not leave the house. I may take my rakes and shovels and not leave until tomorrow at 2:00pm. This is where I liked to come and think and chitchat. I miss it.
DRINKS FOR ALL MY TREASURE BUDS? TELL 12:00
yeah!! there's nothin wrong w/ having a little fun while tryin to find the med, so why don't you just LAY OFF EVERYONE!!!
Hey Matt Are you going out tonight and if so where and why
DRINKS FOR ALL MY TREASURE BUDS? TELL 12:00
and now I have finished slogging through all the recent posts since around midnight and the new clue, since the last time we chated...boy there are alot of post...you really rock..or should i say noodle....
VErde..check your mail.
Matt>> this is a cooler discussion!! you don't have to take sides, we're all supposed to be on the same side.....against the MED!! lol so why don't we just all try to get along
Leelabell, no, I will not be down at PP @ 11:00. Prymzsphere works til 11:00 and I will just wait til she gets home....
then i went back through the out line to mark the date when I first started the cooler last year. i have been in the hhunt for years...but only second year in the cooler....
okay, you want my cell number - i can email it to you - you can call before you leave
what time does the paper come out tonight?
I am not trying fix anything, nor am I trying to mandate the activity of others. I just can't say that I'm proud of this anymore.
There used to be thousands of hits on this board with people that marveled about what they saw, but didn't talk, they weren't really ready to comment... I believe there were something like a 10:1 unique hit:post ratio during the Cherokee Park search. People called me on my cell phone out of the blue, we'd talk for an hour. People ICQ'd me out of the blue, we'd talk for an hour.
I would not be surprised to see this board being used much less for the reasons I've stated above. When I first came to the cooler, I was welcomed with open arms. Now people are too busy shooting out their thoughtless posts to even notice when someone says hello. Don't even question it, since I've talked about this there have been at least 2 people paying attention *right now* that have agreed with me.
I am upset by the fact that people harangue me and tell me to leave when all I am doing is indeed pointing out a proven shortcoming of this forum.
I aint got nothin but clown love for all the peeps up in here, it just gets kinda frustratin when I start feelin like I'm talkin to a wall.
Oh yeah, I've been in here for a few years under a ton of different names
GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! IAN!!!! you shouldn't have done that!!! thought it was a site relating the med!!!
Matt - I think you just have to take it or leave it. Good or bad, the board is evolving.
The one big difference I see this year is that folks don't slog much any more. If you don't slog, you keep posting the same stuff over and over. The folks who do slog, don't want to keep reading and posting the same stuff over and over, so they don't bother any longer.
