OK... I do know where that is!!! You are right!! IT IS HUGGGGEEEEEE!!!! So, were lots of people going there or have been there??
Jord, and let me tell you depressed in my mind has a dual meaning to me when I look at it I get depressed! Thats a lot of space and snow to dig up.............!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not at como. There are too many other events there. Are the fairgrounds within the Saint Paul city limits or are they in Falcon Heights?
hey u guys, another way to travel is by horse and buggy not just tains were used to haul things. just a thought
Yup and on the other side of the train tracks around McMurray is Coach Road..........
I have been to that Animal Shelter before and have seen it!! WOW!! I know what you mean about the dual meanings and being depressed! This is crazy, but I know that is what they are trying to do-- make it last. I am usually at the correct park by now, but I don't really know what to do this year and I don't feel like digging all over the city....
Chris the fairgrounds are private property now.
Jord, they better make it clearer to everybody in this next clue or we will never find it.!!!
BTW,there are no other 'lanes' bordering a place that fits........if any......
I agree! I am glad that I am on vacation this week so if I finally get a big brainstorm, I can run out to... whereever?!?!? LOL! Are you going out there later today/ tonight?
is there a park that was named for someone who had a lot of courage?? or a streetand when they say our deal, do they mean st paul pioneer press's deal or just the hunt in general????????
Your guess is as good as mine, Pennie!
Jord,I'm gonna get the kids lunch and then be out there around 2:30.....
Maybe I will meet you out there! I am coming from Fridley, so I may be a little after 2:30 or so...
Jord,I'll have a purple/blue columbia jacket with a white arm band.
Just took a drive - People diggin at Newell. I hate that park! :) - Jill
Saw the film crew at AA.
No one at Marydale
Good LORD!
::scribe bangs head on wall::
just looked up the word deal and one of the definitions is pretty interesting. noun: wood that is easy to saw/adjective:made of fir or pine. so maybe there is a plaque or memorial tha is made of wood with the person who has "plenty of mettle" name????!!!!!!!!!
Scribe, I have a green jacket and I am thinking of what I can wear that is white to mark as a coolerhead.... hmmmm... will have to think about that.... oh, and I am female though the name Jordenn is androgynous... LOLOL! :)
hey jord, none of my family members are willing to come out with me, can i hook up with u????
Sure Pennie!! The more the merrier!!!!! :)
am female too, in crystal what time and where ???
I will be at Mc Murray fields between 2:30 and 3:00. Still thinking of what white I can wear... if all else fails, I will wear a white baseball hat with Duluth's Women Hockey Bulldogs on it...
I THINK I GOT A JOEEEEEE!!!
I donthave any thing white except a black vikings hat with the words champions across the top in white puffy letters
what a joke!
how do i get there???????
lol Wish I had a bandana... guess my hat will have to do... so you will be wearing the CHAMPIONS hat then... hee hee... (sorry you have to do that ) LOLOLOL! :)
do you know how to get to como?
vaguely
live right of 100 so if i take 100 north to 694........
what way are you going to the cities? down 35 W?
694 to 35W?
The guide and I will be at the west picnic grounds in a half hour. We'll have some books on sale. Stop by and pick one up.
take 694 to snelling so.
At Como.
can either take 694 to 35w or 94to 35w the latter is closer to me
694 to snelling s to midway prwy left your there
This is the way I am gonna go... 694 to 35W south to 36 going east to Lexington south all the way through Como to Mc Murray fields....
will see you there jake
hey jord u have email???????
yup...u?
Just got back from Harriet. Did not find the medallion but, did find Mcdonalds. Drove down by the construction area where it has the Harriet Island brick entrance fenced in. It has a sign about an open space grant. Sounded good to me. We dug for a little bit. People coming and going, not staying too long. It sure is a big park, and tons of open area.
got it you can delete..
got it jordenn???
k i'm waiting, allt this technology i might as well make this a little easier lol
Does anyone think Phalen?
Annette... could be about any place as far as I know... LOL Many of us are going to Mc Murray between 2:30 and 3
Do they still sell the clues downtown at 11:00 PM?
yes westside will the clues come out between 11 and 1145pm down at the press
later! see some of you out there!
So any new ideas?
by the way cooler crew don't be afraid to say hi i will have on blue cat woman sunglasses. black rims with bule shades they might be green though because it is sunny out they change color se you!!!!!!!!
What I don't understand is where does the bank come in?
I haven't figured out the bank clue either. Which park are you thinking? Last night I started to rationalize Phalen.
where are the majority of people still looking?
Just wanted to say hi! I'm going back out again pretty soon. I've been out all morning looking all over creation for that darn little thing!
One idea that i had was that in the activitise portion of Como Park where the slide and the ice maze etc is at, the Army reserve has set up a kind of "base camp". So to go 'off base' might have a double meaning and not just off the base ball field.
I looked at McMurray yesterday and then again this morning. So maybe I'll see you guys there.
Happy Hunting
where are the majority of people still looking?
I don't know...this cooler has gotten rather slow - perhaps everyone is out looking. I think they are still looking at Como, I am thinking Phalen, someone just checked Harriet, and there are other thoughts as well.
where are the majority of people still looking?
Just got back from AA. Met AW there. It is a big park and hard to dig in, I really don't want it to be there. Scribe's suggestion regarding the south side of Como near the Humane Society makes sense. Como is so crowded, but that area is not.
Who knows! Today I've been to Swede Hollow, Iris. Vally and Newell. I like Valley, but the clues are so Vague! There are a fair number of people at Como, I think.
I get bugged everytime I post and want to refresh I am asked if I want to repost or something like that. Such a hassle. If you click on one of the numbers next to a name, like 20316, then it will refresh and you won't get that message.
I was afraid the medallion would have been found by now, but the clues to mean any of many parks. I found at "treasurehunt's" website pictures of the parks, and the one about the Gillette's Children's Hospital that used to be there, and they gave a guy's name on it that I thought could be the man of mettle. So that is one reason I am thinking Phalen.
I still believe its at Arlington Arkwright, and am a little surprised not everyone sees it now that they have named two streets. And I think all the clues fit if you take fairly simple explanations.
1- Be bold (a new park)
2- Nothing really
3- Circular thinking means nothing more than think of balls like softballs, tennis balls, basket balls, all of which can be played there.
4- This is referring to a part of the park. I have an idea I don't want to elaborate on just yet.
5- The most obvious reference for a man of steel is Superman, which would make you think of Clark Kent as another man with mettle (never actually does say the other man is real). Clark St. rund into AA on its southern end. And then its apparently buried in a box of Dove something, probably soap since that has the whitest box.
6- There's lots of space for sledding as the park is very hilly.
7- The old way of travelling is a Desoto and Desoto St. borders the park.
Plus consider there has been no mention of water or picnic facilities yet and this park has neither of those. All in all, this reminds me of where we were two years ago. A Saturday afternoon after a tricky clue that gave us a street name and first led people to Conway. Once there, the clues make sense if you take them at their most simplistic level, except for one clue. So you can keep digging at Como if you want, or you can get a head start on the right park. My own friends don't believe me and I don't have the stamina to dig much myself, so it doesn't matter to me. I have horrible luck anyway and will never stumble on the right spot.
The Bank Clue the only thing I can think of is a Bank is Visable, or the Bird can pin point whre the treasure is, and a bank, is what its hidden in. But I was at como yesterday, found a bird, and a bank deposit slip, with a hole bunch of magizines, but I had no luck there.
I have started a yahoo messenger chat room at "Treasure Hunt:1" for a more realtime chat
in a fine fettle means: state or condition of health, fitness, wholeness, spirit or form - is there a healthclub near one of the parks or public areas? Allison - are you the one that told me about clicking on the number to refresh so I didn't have to go back? Thanks to whoever it was.
I have told some people so it might have been me.
fet·tle (ftl) n.
Proper or sound condition. Mental or emotional state; spirits: was in fine fettle. Metallurgy. Loose sand or ore used to line the hearth of a reverberatory furnace in preparation for pouring molten metal.
Hey Allison - Does Clark Street run right into AA? - Jill
Clue 7 - traveling the old way could just mean on foot, riding around could be biking - so a biking/walking path might be the way to go. What the heck does "our deal" refer to?
Thanks Annette B. My hand was getting tired of dragging the bar down after clicking on new messages.
AW I'm wondering how accurate your Clark St interpretation is. It says look for his name "*around* our deal."
Yes, it runs right into its back end between Desoto and Arkwright. i drove down it last night.
I wondered that too, but around does also mean nearby.
Can somebody give me directions from ssp to Clark Street?
But then, why wouldn't they say "near our deal"?
I have a question - "around our deal" - does the PP have a stand at one of the parks for giveaways or other things for people when they go to one of the parks for Carnival activities? If they are selling t-shirts, handing out special edition papers at a certain park?
Annette, I'm pretty sure they don't. I think that might be a little too obvious even if they did. They *are* selling T-shirts for the hunt, however.:)
They can use whatever word they want, especially if it confuses people.
Take 52 to 94 west to 35E north to Maryland Ave. Turn right, go a few blocks to Arkwright, turn left, and the park will be on your right. You'll probably want to go all the way to Arlington.
Thank you for directions.
Allison- Were you at AA and wearing a black cowboy hat?
Its sort of looks like a cowboy hat, but its not a cowboy hat per se. I wouldn't want anyone thinking I liked country music or anything. But yes, that would have been me.
LOL did ya see a girl in a red hat that was me. One of your guys ya were with was wearing a blue jacket walked right passed me and another girl. who was that
Rumor has it, that somebody has been leaving Dove Soap bar boxes laying around these parks. I was digging at Como last night and some guy thought he found it; picked up the box and took off.....obviously it wasnt. My brother said he saw the same thing at Hidden Falls yesterday....but the person opened it right there...got mad...and chucked the bar of soap about 100 yards....pretty funny....
That was leelabel, but I it seemed everyone was so far away from where I was it was hard to remember details.
Allison- Are ya going to go back there at all? I think Im going to go to Como and Meet Jake.
Hey Dr; Are you sure the PP ain't setting is up, because they want to be harder. Last night at Como Park, I found a Tweetie Picture, a Bank Deposit Slip, and a bunch of Circulars, but no luck, are you sure that the PP is making this hunt more tough then it seams?
I think tonight will narrow it down a bit more. Hopefully......if not. I may just bring my own bar of dove soap to make myself feel better. hehe
Yes, I think I will try to do a bit more before sundown
Ok Allison- If I go back out there Ill be in a red hat=) Ill come and say hi. Hopefully ya dont bite LOL
Could be....but i also found a couple of used kleenexes....Dont know if that has anything to do with any clues or not....but it was pretty gross anyways......I think i scratched myself on one of them.
What about a Dove Ice Cream box? That is a nice size for a medallion to be in.
Yo - just checkin in to see wazzzzzup! There's a small park about 2 blocks south of Summit & Western (near the Commodore Hotel) has anyone talked about that park, Some of clues fit I think but I don't know the park very well but it has statues and stuff. All I know is it's public and pretty small...anyone know that area better than me?
what do the initials AA stand for? When is the soonest you can get the next clue?
The ice cream box would be a little big, and as many people pointed out, a lot easier to spot.
Its possable to be in a IceCream box in a trashcan, because it will be something which is just overlooked
I think a peacock is a pretty peaceful bird......ya think it could be hidden in a stuffed peacock or something?
Did ya ever thing about Arlington being the bird, because the Arlington Highschool's mascot is the Phenox, and the phenox is a bird
In a trash can? How could the PP prevent it from being emptied? They want the med. to stay where they put it.
No, I don't bite, despite the vampire rumors. Its looking like maybe 3:30 or 4 I'll be out there.
Okkies allison- Ill prolly be out there in a lil While. I dont even kno where to begin to look in that Place. Ill see ya there.
Its a public park, and its winter. What are the changes of a public park to empty its trashcans in winer, when the public schools don't even know how to
The clue does seem to state pretty clearly that its buried under the snow
I looked up dove in the dictionary the other day and it said a dove was a pigeon - yea right - then I got plenty of "doves" on my window sills! The Tweety bird, peacock, and phoenix are all good ideas - I think dove is almost too simplistic. Has anyone seen anything w/ an NBC peacock logo on it?
When i was a kid, i rode around on the back of my grandmas great dane. That was pretty fun. There is a humane society over at como....that could be what they are talking about.....maybe....i dont know...just noodlin'
Tom, with $10K on the line, they don't take that kind of chance. AW's right...
Doc, you'd better stop that before I bust my gut! (my tummy already hurts!)
But you have to think what is it burried in snow. I was on a theory yesterday at Como that that ballfeild off of Midway (By the mini golf)there were threww pine trees, and that it was hidden in that wooden area. There was the postbox with the eagle accorss the street, and those three pine trees are able to make the eyes,, and nose of the smile face. It was a clue of Circular thinking, and a smile on the face, but the smile part didn't turn out to be. My point is, the object its hidden on could be in deep snow, because it warned us to stay on our toes.
I am going to Ask Jeeves! Maybe he knows.
Tom, yes, but we're saying not in a trash can...ya see?
Alrighty.......Gotta go! Im headin' to Como to look for that peacock!
good luck everyone!
Allison- Did ya see hoe much snow was there? LOL OH man
Yes snow everywhere. Will take a while to dig.
Well Im going to go now. Im going to Run out to Como to meet Jake ing for the first time. And then Ill be out at AA Im the Chicky in the red hat=)
How does the madelian acutally looklike?
Bank could just refer to snowbank - like not in the middle of a field, but in a bank of snow. or the bank of a river, pond, lake; a steep slope
WAIT A MIN... errghI'm starting to get feelings I was just by the madallian yesterday........... Todays clue came to me with something else I found along with the Tweetie, Circulars, and bank deposit / receipt
or a bank an refure to what it is in, lets say a delux box, and the bird can tell us where to look
What happens if its actually hidden at the Pioneer Press because they were to lazy too go out, and hide it this year?
If they did not go out and hide it, then they owe all of us $10,000.00$
I thought of it being hidden around there because of the deploy clue, and I wish they would deploy that horn this yr when it is found. Circular thinking could narrow the feel w/i a block if the streets around it matched up right.
To escape the herd find a peaceful bird/Somewhere deep in the snow/Our treasure is boxed inside the word/And that's what you need to know
lots of space doesn't have to mean it is a big park, it could refer to an exibit or museum to do w/ space, an airport, etc.
Are there any planateriums here in St Paul besides the one at Coo Elem.?
Como Elem has a planetarium? I started thinking also of the box w/ the bird on it - is there a shipping service - UPS, US Mail, FedEx, etc that has a bird name on it as well? It could be in a shipping box. Airmail, etc
Remember that they refer to a peaceful bird. Not birds of prey.
:-)
Someone mentioned LARGE dove boxes. Can't you buy single dove bars?
Ok, the clue is...peaceful bird, etc...then it says it's boxed in the word. Why am I defending this anyway?! Don't you guys pretty much pick apart anything that you find? And they use the same med. every year...somebody asked how big it was and it's about the siz of a Skoal canister.
Ok, well I'm heading back to AA before the sun goes down. Dout I'll find it. Not because it isn't there, but because I'm just not lucky in that way. But you have to at least feel like you tried.
Even a single dove bar box would be kind of big for this thing. Trust me- I've held it! Admittedly, they could stuff the thing with other material to keep it snug, but I will bet that it's in a dove soap box.
what is AA?
AA=Arlington Arkwright
peacock could be a peaceful bird (as is a piece of the birds name is in peaceful)...oh well - stretching here........
Hey AW i checked out AA, and actually i kind of liked it.
thanks, thx 1138. When can we get the next clue?
Clue comes out between 11:00 and 11:45 at the PP, or midnight online
http://www2.twincities.com/wintercarnival/
Did you notice that on Mississippi St. (about 2 blocks west) is a building for the Minnesota Historical Society. The only part I don't like about the park is all the fencing...It is like they don't want anyone there.. The parking though, if it is there is great for a hunt
Its somewhere downtown around rice park or the cathedral.
I only live a few blocks from the PP, but have never volunteer to go get the clue as I don't have a cell phone to call someone from there. But it is supposed to be out at 11 pm on 345 Cedar.
hey all what about Cherokee park ! its due to be there
Just an FYI: The clue has been notoriously late coming out this year.
BUT they have stuff going on tonight in the lobby so it's a good time even if you have to wait.
What I don't like about it is the woods, especially at night, yet I can't see it not being there. Tonight's clue should further confirm it. Anyway, off I go.
Allison, you gonna be at the PP tonight?
Good luck Allison - like you say - you just gotta finally go look, with what your gut is tellin ya
PalinaJOE!
No I won't be at the PP tonight. Not going anywhere near country music.
I should be heading out to Phalen w/ what my gut is telling me.
I still think it's at the showcase park. The clues are too overwhelming. But I could be wrong.
Awh, come on! We can line dance maybe?
What makes you think of showcase--by the way, where is that?
where is AA?
Como
AA is on the corner of Arlington and Arkwright, on the east side of 35
Oh, is that Arlington Rec center? the one by the library?
Nevermind, it screws up the browser!
I believe I have put it all together. I am going out in a couple hours.
Even if a person kept on the dove theme, Isn't there a book or something called Lonesome Dove, and then I always liked Prince's Purple Rain album's When Dove's Cry. So we need to think "out of the box" to think what the box may be.
I don't like como, i drove by there and it was a zoo--literally. From all the action, the zoo itself, and the diggers I really don't think it is there. If anywhere near como i like the McMurray fields across the street (i guess it is a part of como).
Vio--I am not sure if a rec center is there--at least i didn't see one there today, but the park really reminds me of Conway where it was 2 years ago.
HI KIM ARE YOU HERE
Someone meantioned Rice. They have a post on the Washington St. side in many languages that says MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH and across the street on the Landmark Center is a banner that says "Health-East Kings Court".
Annette, maybe you should focus on the *where* and just pick apart everything you find. I certainly am not saying that I would chuck a dove ice cream box if I saw it because I thought it was in a soap box. Besides, others are reporting decoys anyway...
I'm gonna make this one quick, but think about this. What happens if the circular thinking actually means that all the clues are opposite from what they mean?????
No, it is not at rice, it can't be. The people making the sculptures would be pissed if 3,000 people with shovels and icepicks started surrounding them, plus the park is very small when you subtract the room for the statues.
THX, it helped me though thanx bro.
I just came back from checking out Phalen, Como, Arlington, and Marydale. The only one that I did like was Como. Phalen didn't strike me with any of the clues but a few. Arlington - I liked all the streets, Marydale - not much again. Como - one has to remember they aren't going to place the med anywhere the winter carnival activities are being held. It will be away from that area. Am checking out a few ideas and will let you know if I find anything. CaCoMe, are you out there yet?
Tom, it wouldn't suprise me in the least.
Besides, Rice is all closed up for renovations. The sculptures are all in a tiny corner of what isn't closed.
What are the main points, clue references with AA??
REg- I can tell you a few. All the streets around the area are like flower streets. Desota street an old street car was named that there is a clark street that runs to it
kas - yeah - gotta figure out the park 1st, but just saying with anyone that has a hunch of where they think it might be, to think of a few items it could be in. Phalen as Wheelock Pkway (Circular thinking and linking)that runs into the entrance of the park on Phalen Drive, then there is a bike/walking path (riding, travel old way). The have a basketball court (keep on your toes), a playground, Clear Ave.
The AA clues are: Desoto street--a car traveling the old way Clark street--think superman=man of steel, Clark Kent=man of mettle Off base--a few of baseball fields
its Desoto not Desota
To me it looked as though it would fit if you stretched clues more than taking them easy, and for what they say.
Crazy, where do the flowers fit in? With the clues, I mean.
I dunno they say something about 6 in a clue I think. The 6th month is June thats when most flowers are blooming and stuff. I dunno
yeah - I liked Rice a couple of days ago until last nite when I saw the carvers, don't you just LOVE going crazy like this? It's almost a relief (after a day of dissapointment) when someone finds it. I don't actually get out too much to look, but perhaps I will tomorrow. That is why I originally took the June clue and thought of weddings(and rice throwing), but Rice I believe we can safely rule out.
howdy...cluemaster you here?
Annette B. Do i know you? Any new additions lately?
hey, Crazy, I think yer putting too much into it with June and the flowers thing.
I don't see any June or other remote flower reference. Nice factoid, though. :)
Good afternoon everyone! So far...confusion has set in and I'm getting close to having a mental breakdown. Yep, it's a great day!
Crazy, sorry, but way too deep!!
Annette, could it be AROUND rice park?
yeah, it says "or you'll hunt until June"
Im not the only one that is doing that. I seen alison up there he said the same thing
weim, not sure - I was at McGovern's for the 1st time w/ the Cooler Crew. Glad I went. Were you there?
the wedding thing would make more sense, and with the duel, stretching but there are 2 areas where wedding photos are done in como. One by the froggie, and one on the hill by cons.
Missed that one! Thanks VJ! When you read them so many time, you start to gloss over them.
Reg, theres also those gates over by the fountain, near the lake.
nope wasn't there i'm a long long long ways away
work with an annette b.
a few of my buds are at McMurrays...has anyone been there?
I'm still disappointed because of no one really knowing that they definitely have a park/place. I saw people digging at every park I went to today. Como had the most diggers. I have to say that I like Como because of Winston Churchill, east and west, Wheelock, Lexington, ...
I can't see where it would be AROUND Rice (except there is that tiny park called Cleveland Cirle nearby), around Rice you have the Ordway, Landmark, Qwest, the St. Paul Hotel all around it. The other reason I originally went out to look was that the 50th Anniv of the Korean War Memorial will be made there by Travis Smith which is a Gold medal winner of the Culinary Art Olympics and 2 members of his team to make an ice sculpture. So you have deploy, gold, circular thinking, and the old bank building will be a new park that is now parking - but it is just too messed up w/the fence and the ice sculptures.
What about---the Capital---Wall Street is around there..." the busiest street" reference???
Digger, are you one of the people that just drives by to see if anyone is there, or do you actually get out to "feel" the park?
J I actually got out at AA when i went, i did only drive by McMurray at Como though, thought it was insane, and left. Why?
I dont know, just wondering. Because when me and Shaggy 2 Dope go lookin at specific parks, we actually get out. and then we start noticing people that will drive by and circle the park a few times..just to see who is there. and then later on we catch what is probably those same people, in here saying that they were "at that park" at that same time that we were, and they start saying that the park doesnt fit anything and they shoot down everyone's response about that park. the one that they just drove by.
In the 1st couple of clues I thought of the Capitol Mall - deploy, the gold horses on top (heh - that is not bad - place w/ lots of space, riding around (on horse), move off base - much military stuff, victorious, the duel seemed to make sense for me there. oh well - I may actually try that later.
Violent J, I guess I know why you picked your name. Yes, I do get out quite a bit and I DO rely on my gut feeling but one also has to place the clues with the gut feeling. When it was at Cherokee, my husband and I were there on the 4th clue when no one else was. When it was at Newell last year, my husband was there on the 5th clue. When it was at Conrad, we were there on the 5th clue. Does that give you the idea that I get involved in the hunt and not just sit at my computer and read people's thoughts. I totally enjoy the hunt and I'm definitely not scared to get my hands dirty or my hoe (tool of trade).
I have a few problems with AA. First of all, it is about 80% woods. That makes me think that it is not there. Second, there is a ton of fencing, like so much it looks like they want to keep you out. Not just metal fencing but the orange hazard stuff too. Also, the park was quiet, almost too quiet, and it is hard for me to believe that i am the only one in St. Paul with a hunch to check it out because there were only 2 of us in the whole park, me and some other guy. It does sort of feel like conway though, so it is possible?
Annette..I'm at the point where I'm not doubting anything! When I get off of work...that will be a stop of mine for sure!
Digger. Yeah, cool. No, the reason I picked my name is not because im Violent....although, that has yet to be proven otherwise. No, I picked it, so i can show my support of the Wicked Clowns. As did my homie Shaggy 2 Dope who is elsewhere as we speak. Probably putting on his clown makeup, for when we go out lookin later on.
does anyone know where i can get a map of AA on the net????
When do you get off work? pryz - perhaps I will see you later tonight a hunting
Donna, someone just posted a map link a few 10 posts ago.
they took that map down cause it supposedly messed up the broswer
thank you digger
Unfortnately, at 11:00pm...It's going to be a very LONG night!
what's AA
Well, Como i still looks the best, and the busiest street I believe is Lexington, the busiest street in the park, which didn't use to go where it does, it cut through down by the pavilion and parking area years ago.
ugh - well at least you will have another clue at that time!! Think positive - pryz. Also Wall St is in Lowertown as well, nearby Mears park, and the Farmers Market.
I also feel that AA has a lot of woods and at the same, I feel it is too small. However, everyone thought Conrad was too small and PP proved them wrong. The fencing around AA only made me feel the circular thinking was mentioning the fence "if the med is there". I was at the park early morning. I also couldn't see anything in the skyline/tree areas that I could spot as a reference. I might have been too low. Good sledding hill is there. I should say I'm only mentioning the things I saw.
Arlington Arkwright
Hi all! Just got back from diggin. What a great day. The air was so clean and crisp. The sun was shining. I'm just trying to make myself feel better cause I didn't find anything....LOL
However it can refer to the street cars that if I can recall correctly, were taken from Bandana square and moved somewhere in the park, but it's a vague memory
The only clue i cant fit at Phalen is the last one-any ideas?
Perhaps, Annette That 10 G will help greatly with tuition! (WISHING HARD)!
The capitol still fits as well though, so who knows anyway.
Goo, what were you getting for the man of mettle at phalen?
ConWAY, it's never been at conRAD.
Yeah, and the lexington reference, i believe Rice is way busier than lexington, and university is probably worse than that.
Gov Johnson (Johnson pkwy)
Sorry, Conway - Conrad, cousin's name is Conrad. Sorry for him.
Goo - Memory Lane fits because of Memory Hall - I don't know - I got that off of pict#104 online - the sign about Gillette's Children's Hosp - and that people wanted to tear it down or something, but I think there is a Memory Hall, and the Hosp was transformed into the MN Humanities Commission. And I took off that sign that the man of mettle perhaps was Michael Dowling.
Ok..see, me n Shaggy were talkin bout the rec center, and we came up with "Robin Hood"....i dont know what sense that makes, but lemme try n explain. See..he was known for his "Sherwood Forest" or whatever, and two of the cross streets that are right by the rec center, are Sherwood and Forest.
how do i look at a past post
I just have a sneaky suspition it is downtown--- SOEWHERE!?!?!?!
Digging, I was referring to the park, LExington is the busiest street in the park itself, not city. Victoria St, goes with the victorious, Did you want E como or W como st?? Churchill man of mettle. Deploy/ destroy- torpedo. Circular, I can't say, it'd give it away. Como fits better than anywhere, and it would be their smartest place to put it, cuz after 3 straight years of hearing Como will always be too busy, if they did, no one would believe it is there like a lot of people in here.
I ran upon an accident this afternoon at Como. Got the sudden feeling of a busy street. It was right before Maryland. No one was hurt thankfully.
Lee&J.,Penni and Jord,We'll hook up after the clue tonight?
My prediction is the next clue will refer to animals,or 'field' in some way..........hopefully narrow it down some!
I get FDR as the man of mettle at Phalen
Yeah, and some guy was hit by a car, while biking, the other day out there somewhere too, i saw that on the news yesterday.
While at Como, I also spotted a sign that stated "No treasure digging". Had to laugh when I say it.
treasure, where is the sign located?
Bottom line everyone - be careful, and be happy, otherwize the 10G ain't worth it. I hate to hear of accidents and all.
you talkin to me?
Treasure Digger, although that was at the Carnival sight.....wonder why the OTHER Carnival sites don't have such a sign???:)
I completely agree Annette!
The sign was right down from the giant slide at the top of the hill. Donna, in your address bar, it should list a # at the end of the line. Change the number to a less # and it will bring your post back. You can also select the previous message button at the top of the message board.
Hello all, I just got back from B.C. Alot of people in Zone 1 not to many diggers when walking threw the park very few people. Went to Phalen to see the same not many people. Where is everyone looking or are we just saving our energy?
