...is happy that Art Bell is back.

The capitol is an old stockyard? I did not know that.

Hi all-

I was out today by myself and tonight with hubby. We went to Allison's park and it looked good. We also went to my park (Iris) and many of the clues fit, but is a bit more of a stretch than Allison's park.

Earlier today I went to West Minnihaha and I have removed that from the list. I am wondering about Hidden Falls - but it is a park and not a rec center.

There were a few people out an about but no real action.

Fourth Annual (GASP! Has it been THAT long ALREADY?!) Pre-Dig Gig, Sat, Jan 19, 2002 - McGoverns! BE THERE!!!

My Take On The Clues:

#1 This park has been the place for many gold medals, and is within the city limits of St. Paul. Many duels or contests have taken place in this park (and continue to), as well as many dualities concern it - only one of which was that you had to "keep on your toes."

#2 Stay off private ground and don't mess with any statues or golf courses.

#3 Circular thinking/linking refers to bicyles. This is part of one of the dualities.

#4 East and west is another duality of the park, but which is correct? Playing referrs to playing fields in the park.

Otay, otay! I'll got bock to The Frog Pond. I didn't find Bee while we were there, and it hasn't Been dug out. Which is kind'a weird...

I was told there is an old stockyard close by the capital, not sure where. My resource knows quite a bit about the area. He's live here all his 64 years and he would steer me wrong.

Regg man--agreed. I can't help but feel they have told us already. Beth--they hid in a diaper one year, so I don't think a check box is out of the question. In terms of hiding objects, I agree it will be smaller because the snow depth is low. If it is in something fairly big, it would have to be something that may exist as "litter" like a Mcdonalds box, or something people would find icky like a diaper. I think a check box would be tough to hide in this snow depth, would not hold up to melting due to being made of paper, and because it would be tough to bury, would stand out as not belonging in a park.

Not only are there round tables, each table is encircled by seats, each of which is also a circle, and the tables are arranged in a circle, and if you standing there, thinking circularly, the playground area, where you might be smiling, is out of view.

Heres my take on the clues so far, in one of the clues it said something about being out of sight, well why not Hidden, as in hidden falls, which is by the airport, which if i believe connects st paul and minneapolis together. Which brings me to clue 3 where it says Circular.....Linking. Well if you take the C in the first line and cirlcle it down to the bottom its spells city as in Linking cities.

dave, britannica didn't say when they bloom, but here's something i freely stole from them "Irises are either bulbous or rhizomatous (with thick, creeping underground stems) and have six petallike floral segments, the more erect inner ones called standards and the usually drooping outer ones called falls." hmm. six. there's been quite a bit of speculation about that number here before.

out of view may also be a reference to this as the colored portion of eyes are called irises. can you tell i'm stretching here?

valley is right by a school, and school gets out in June, the same time you'd supposedly be getting done huntin. kind of a stretch, but I think its a stretch to use June as a clue at all. But for other stretches, you can see the gold statues of the capitol, the 1st bank sign, and there is lots of fencing (duels). There are much better reasons for valley than that though.

GoldenBoy - 10:17pm Jan 24, 2001 CST (#14472 of 28288) Mark Reply

Allison - I think this year we won't be diggin snow. Because of the references to "keep on your toes" (#1) and treasure that "lies out of view". This would make sense since we had so much snow so early in the season. My advice - leave the shovel at home.

See the pioneer press is so dumb sometimes. They made a mistake with that clue, they forgot to capitalize Linking, that the biggest part of the clue. It spells CITY. And Hidden (out of sight) Falls connects minneapolis and st.paul (east & west)

Mainly I picked Valley because of the East West thing. If you look at the addresses in St. Paul, the dividing line where the east addresses become west addresses goes right through Valley, so the park is both east AND west. And there is a playground there. And I mentioned the circular tables earlier (with the circular seats, and all the tables arranged in a circle) which are located down a slope. So if one assumes from clue #4 that you want to be on the side where you can play (because that would make you smile) then it fits with clue #3, because if you are standing among the tables, down that slope, the treasure would be out of view.

Also I like it because its not a park, its a rec center. And the fact that the clues have been so vague or even nonexistant so far indicate to me that its a smaller park that won't need as many clues. Plus, its an obscure place that has never been used which fits with the idea of it supposedly being a tougher hunt, and you might have to be bold to think its there (or maybe you have to be bold to dig amongst the kiddies?) Plus there's a bunch of words that are possibly significant, all of which could be applied here.

If a duck walks into a bar and a pheasant runs in, who will get served a drink first? It just depends how busy the bartender is silly.

Hello Everyone, This is TheRock4927 from last year, aka Rob. Hows everyone doin? Wow i see Allison is back for another year as well as GoldenBoy wow and Downtown Dave. Welcome back to another season. What does everyone else think about my theory?
