and a street with both east and west names run through the location
playing tells us there is a play ground there. put a smile on your face??? minniHAHA maybe
TAKE A DRUG TEST
OUT
it's snowing out!?!?!
SNIFF
Me and my associate Shaggy 2 Dope just got back from checkin out Palace, what do you ninjas think about that place?
Personlly, I think all that "crap" about Palace makes no sense, and is a bunch of "crap", but then again I am "crap face" lol.
Hey, Ninja, why you gotta be that way huh? im just in here trying to get some insight to what you people think is up? why you gotta hate like that?
"Why u gotta hate like that?" yeah, uh-huh, now I see why they wear clown makeup "NUFF SED" lol.
Really now? AND WHY DONT YOU TELL US ALL why "exactly" it is that "they" wear clown makeup?
How should I know? im not the one in here hiding under that un-original name am i? NO! I didnt think so! Now why dont you go back to your little toy box and play with your G.I. Joes or whatever it is you children do this time of the night.
Un-Original? DAYAM!! that hurt! yeah, right. You see, i picked this name because I like ICP, I believe in the power of the dark carnival, and I believe that they will bring me and my homies the path on which we will follow a small line of peoples, who have each, in their own forthcomings done, what so many people, yet so few people have been able to accomplish....finding the medallion. And when that is all said and done and YOU ALL have witnessed the power of the gathering of the juggalos IN FULL FORCE, only then will we sit back and laugh at you....just you, "the one with the crap on your face"......Now until later my friends and evidentlly, my "crap faced" foe, I'm out, like peewees wang at the movies.
Yeah, whatever, look, i didnt mean anything by any of that, really. I was just joking around man. lol. i like that line, LOL!! "im out like peewees wang at the movies" LOL!! GREAT!!
You still there V.J.?
Is anyone still here?
Okay then, lol, i guess im out too...lol, "like peewees wang at the movies" LOL!
I'm always here. I just choose when I want to stick my head up.
Last one up as usual - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz
This is gonna sound crazy but a little birdie tells me the medallion is at phalen by the play ground stuffed inside of a potatoe. please dont ask me how or why.
My "circular thinking" has me going back to the "part oF OUR test" with reference to "one proper place" (almighty ice CASTLE) hmmmmm
Maybe I do need some sleep :)
think its in a playground,in the middle.
is anyone thinking about swede hollow?
anyone think mabey not a park this year.clue#1 st. paul is the place, clue#2 wonderful town. they are telling us its in st. paul. clue 1 tells me if you are in a park your sol.
actually ace, i thought swede hollow was a possibility after today's depression clue (in a rare turn of events, ares doesn't stay up last night to catch the clean-up clue, scary, but i'm actually awake this morning). i'm still trying to fit the other clues to it, with not a whole lotta success.
Estaban!!!! Where are you? Where can I get to you????
Somebody cabbaged on to my book last nite!!!! I NEED another one...
Anyone have Palace in mind?
Birdie I have Palace in mind every year- since I was 3
I went over there last night- and I don't know some clues - or words fit
Here's my 2 cents, it's gonna be in a big park.
off the subject, but is anyone else having trouble getting into hotmail? I can't get into ANY microsoft site. Msn.com, microsoft.com, hotmail.com, etc. Anyone else having this happen to them?
Is there any evidence leading away from "Western Park," blocks off the capitol mall?
Ace -
Sweede Hollow is a 24:1 shot in our pool. One person picked it last week.
so where is everyone talking about today?
First two clues are useless. Year in and year out, the first two clues are irrevelent.
Paul -
Actually, I think it is kind of interesting what the first clues don't say. Usually there is a reference to a park. Not a specific park, but the medallion is hidden within a park. All these clues have said is NOT ON PRIVATE GROUND, and a reference to PLAYING. Maybe Dunning Field, East/West 94.
What do you guys think?
went to dunning 3 times not too much seems match- I wish it would I justlive across the street
I remember at Conway the second clue said something about sledding, but not to get too near. That was significant. So usually there is something in the first or second clue, sometimes both. If there isn't anything, then either you're not reading it right or its in a small park where there isn't much to say about it, which still tells you something.
Lea
I haven't gotten the nerve to go out yet, but thanks for the heads up on Dunning.
Allison
I agree that you cannot discredit the first two clues, I think that this year is going to be completely unconventional. They want to make it impossible, espically after the debocial at Newell last year. Always looking for another meaning.
Hey Derick, if you're still around: I can't get into msn either.
Is anyone considering Hidden Falls?
Honestly, I think as long as they have me on this side of the clues, they'll never have another long hunt again. Hopefully they'll realize soon that the only way to have the hunt last more than 7 days is to make me the clue writer! Unless I'm grossly misinterpreting the clues, I think I have a good idea where it is. I'm not going to announce it just yet here until I've had a chance to go back tonight and check it out. Although I did go into detail on it in my Yahoo club if you're a member of that.
Then again, I suppose I could make the clues fit any park if I really wanted to, hehe.
Hey Dave, you meet with Trent and Jackie from the documentary yet? I was gonna go yesterday, but I slept from 1pm-4am, so I didn't even have a chance to. I'll be going today though.
I'll tell you my second choice though. Iris Park. The streets around it are East Lynnehurst and West Lynnehurst. There's no playground, but some of the tables do have checkerboards built into them for playing. Some of the tables there are round, and on an elevated part of the park. If the treasure was hidden by the wall, it would be out of view of those tables. Its never been there before, so one might be bold to look there. There is a lot of private property very close by. Also one might argue that an iris, the part of the eye, is circular. Its a small park, which in theory would make it harder to guess, plus would explain why they waste clues and two not saying a whole lot (because there isn't a lot to say).
So if its not where I think it is, this is the place I would head to next at this point.
DerickDavis...
THANK YOU!!! I have been trying to get into my Hotmail account since yesterday and I can't do it... I thought it was a problem with me!
(offtopic) Hey Ms Sharky, last night you said you were coming in from NJ...where in NJ?
Ms Sharky: It really angers me that I can't get into my hotmail! MSN Messenger still works, and it's telling me I have 7 messages! I was expecting something very important too! I too thought it was just me. I wonder if somebody finally bombed Microsoft? :)
Me Dave? Yes I met with them yesterday at the Conservatory and we shot some stuff. I took the cofounder of my singles club with me (who I met through the treasure hunt) and she had a lot of fun doing it too. Then I went over to Patrick McGovern's where they filmed some other people, but it was pretty noisy there. I may go back there tonight, though I wonder if they'll be there or if they'll be following people digging.
Yes, you Dave
"First of all, thanks so much to everyone for coming out to Como Conservatory and McGovern's yesterday. It was great finally meeting and talking to everyone. We already have some great footage, and we're incredibly excited.
We want to apologize to anyone who we didn't have time to talk to. It's very challenging trying to talk to everyone, but before this hunt is over, we will make time to talk to everyone. Just please be patient with us.
Today (Wednesday) we are focusing on shooting people outside in parks either noodling or digging. We will be at Como Conservatory from 3:30 until 6 or possibly later. We are using the Conservatory as a "base," but we will more than likely be in the areas outside (by the frog pond, snow slide, etc.). We want to use the daylight to shoot more quickly.
We think we got enough footage of McGovern's last night, so we will NOT be at McGovern's tonight. Hopefully we will be out in parks "following" people.
Please leave us messages on our voice mail (612.676.2147) or call us on our cell (917.748.2963) and let us know which park you will be in and when. Leave any cell phone number or pager number where you can be reached.
Once again, thanks so much.
Jackie and Trent"
Please note change in filming schedule!!!
Outside filming at The Conservatory from 3:00 until 6:00 PM or so, and...
NO filming at McGovern's tonight.
Thanks!!!
Ok everyone, i'm going to experiment with the html thing, please bear with me. I will most likely delete right away.
Allison, no filming at McGovern's tonight.

Microsoft technicians have been struggling since early Wednesday morning to return service to the company's main websites: Microsoft.com, MSN.com, MSNBC.com, WindowsMedia.com, Encarta.com and Carpoint.com.
The company's U.S. websites appear to be the victim of a problem with DNS routing, the database that translates the names of URLs to the actual number addresses of the servers where the Web pages are stored.
Derek, I have 15 messages and more comingin everyminute at HOTMAIL!!! I, too, am irked! On top of that, my spacebarhas given up working. I don'tknow whathappened withitbetween lastnightandthis mornig butitis REALLY annoying! I'm leaving NJ in a few hours togetbackto St. Paul forthehunt. Does anybody knowofacomputerplacethatfixes Toshibalaptops? I'd be everso grateful!
MS Sharky,
Try the Geek Squad in Minneapolis.
MF
Has anyone been thinking about St. Paul proper? It is the 50th year after all so they may want it downtown or near the Press office. Just a thought.
Thanks MF, I shall dothat... Luckily, the computeris still inder warranty.
Does everybody think themedallion is in a park? Why not shakethings up forthe 50th anniversary andhide itsomewhere new, BOLD, and exciting? Justlikethefactthatitis a treasure chestor? insteadoftheusualmedallion.
Good morning everyone!!!
I AM SOOOOOOOOOO TIIIIIIIRRREEEEED! You people just want to wear me out before we even start diggin! ALLISON IT WON"T WORK YOU EVIL VILLIAN!:)
East and west..........hmmmmmmmmm,well that crosses Winnepeg off my list.........and Antarctica.
Ah, there's Scribe, you saucy pirate wench!
Helloooo?
You're all diggin behind my back aren't you?
Ay me matey,Allison! Me that be!
Ok, just to see what everyone else thinks. I'm thinking about being the good samaritan this year for the fellow hunters. By this, I mean that I'm thinking about providing hot apple cider and/or hot cocoa from the back of my Explorer. Possibly coffee at night! Also, some food with carbs to keep us going? I want to offer it free, but I wont complain if some people give me some money in return. What does everyone think? If you like the idea, give me an idea of what to have. If you know of any problems I may encounter, let me know
Actually a grill out would be fun, and one way to keep warm. You know we vampires don't have a lot of body heat, hehe.
Derrick,I don't care what park you end up at but I'll be there if you are that generous! I'll contribute if you can think of anything!:)
Of course that's assuming I don't find it tonight, though I probably won't.
"EAST" = "EAST" River Road by Hidden Falls
Vampires don't grill! What the heck kind of freaky vampire are you???
I thought they like their meat raw!
"EAST" = "EAST" River Road by Hidden Falls
morning all, i'm really stuck on this part, only one is the proper place, IF THIS CHOICE...? it's both east and west so what choice is there to make ?
WEST=WEST,California.
nah, scribe, they just like the blood.
cheetah. i had though of hidden for that reason (among others, out of view comes to mind), that and i forgot that west river road is across the river from st. paul, and i don't even know if it comes this far south. silly me.
I'll be running to Sam's Club or something later to get some stuff. Any ideas would be great. I'm choosing stuff with alot of carbs! If any of you run races, or have any athletic bone in your body, you will know how important carbs are!
DD, I think youre site's down
leaves could be what it's in, they have done it before ?
Another idea, but it wont be free! Hand Warmers? Those little hand warmer things? Sound good?
Those are great Derrick! I have made a habit of asking for those in my stocking at Christmas! Get and sell em!
High carbs? Well the only thing I can think of is those fruit bars oooooooooooorrrrrrrrr COOKIES!!!!:)
Granola Bars are always good
Is there an Our Town arguement for Hidden?
If my site is ever down, just keep on trying to refresh. Freeservers always throws these little fits for some reason. Otherwise wait 10-15 minutes, and then go back to it.
Sue,I threw that "our Town" stuff out there to be funny, personally I think thats over analyzing.:)
gatorade.
Well, I don't think it is a "make or break", but it has merit
Ok, if you see me, i'll be a tall blond carrying a green canvas bag. Or, you can look for my truck (1991 Black 2d Ford Explorer) Be careful around my truck if i'm not there! My alarm is really sensitive. I'll have the hand warmers and granola bars on me and in my truck. As far as the hot apple cider, that will be in the truck. I will also have other things. If you want some apple cider and i'm "in the field", dont hesitate to ask me to open my truck. In case all of you didn't notice, I spend more time helping out (website for example) than actually hunting! If you have anymore ideas of what to carry, leave a message on my message board, since I hardly ever slog.
Most likey be a tall blonde? do you adjust in height and hair color?
No really Sue,trust me,it was a joke! I'm not saying that the reference in the clue isn't pertaining to our town,I am,but I think they mean just St.Paul proper. If they had a hidden meaning to make you think about it further they would have mentioned theatre or play in the same couple of clues........take it from someone who has spent years over analyzing this!
Most likey be a tall blonde? do you adjust in height and hair color?
Anyone thinking Cherokee?
OOPS! I was thinking two things at once. I fixed it
Is OUT OF VIEW just to obviouse for Hidden, and LEAVES for Falls??
Cherokee entred my mind for some reasom with todays clue. But I doubt they would put it there again so soon. But I have been wrong once before or was that twice?
depressed = deepREST = COMA = COMO???
personally, sue, i think it would be too obvious, at least this early in the hunt if they want it to last longer. i'm leaning towards leaves just being a word. now depressed, on the other hand. there's something in that one. i just can't put my finger on what it is. hmm. choose the wrong path (east/west), and you'll end up in depression/gorge/river valley of some sort?
I agrre with Ares,Sue,they do have a pattern of revealing info year after year.
Sometimes I wonder if the obvious is just obvious because we actually put it together??? Just pondering...
Hello Everyone:
Just a thought. Mounds park is small, runs only east and west (I believe) along Hwy 94, has a few statues and monuments, and a very large depression or drop off to the train tracks that run along Shepard Road. The park is also located very close to the eastern border of St. Paul before going into Woodbury. Is located on top of the hill so you can see the Capital building etc. I have not seen anyone bring this park up Any thoughts?
Mounds is problematic because of the Indian burial spots.
This is true...
Frostbite, personally I think there are not enough clues that fit Mounds, and the big one to me is that they are really stressing inner St. Paul more and have not said park.
Derrick, thank you!!! We will see you out there!
Hooray...I can now post...(I have been watching you all for some time now) ...interesting how all this noodling works. I call this pure FUN!
Thanks everyone for your thoughts...I think I will return to Como
Hooray...I can now post...(I have been watching you all for some time now) ...interesting how all this noodling works. I call this pure FUN!
Welcome Strike!
Hooray...I can now post...(I have been watching you all for some time now) ...interesting how all this noodling works. I call this pure FUN!
Scribe, what are your top picks today?
Sue,THX and I are hounding over steve's book.........I think there are a few possibilities and they are all rec centers. Allison, Iris you gotta be kiddin me! Evil EYE= Iris.
Hillcrest is plausible..........
I believe I have a strong candidate
You gonna share Paul or you gonna be sneaky?
Hillcrest: Standing from a top of a hill, you can see the Highland Park Bank, directly below the hill is a playground. Hill faces west.
Possible circular clue is a clock on the Highland Park Bank.
Como or Phalen!
Or seen from the Hill is St. Leo's Church, which is circular shaped.
This is what we were thinking too Paul,Also there is a circular domed park building.........It is the most western rec center of St.Paul I think.
what do ya think?
right
I still have Newell in my top 3, a large rec center, 2 skating rinks, it is hilly, the park runs east and west, I do not know Hillcrest is promising, however.
We used to call that Dead Man's Hill...there was a murder back when I was a kid...hmmm
Riv,have fun and re-read your tagline again!:)
of course, I'm usually wrong on these sort of things, only twice have I been in the right park on searching for this thing. Cherokee Park, and out by the Capitol.
Really Sue?? I don't remeber that. What happened?
of course, I'm usually wrong on these sort of things, only twice have I been in the right park on searching for this thing. Cherokee Park, and out by the Capitol.
LOL, i guess
A Lawyer paid to have his wife killed...The Thompson murder...they lived up on Hillcrest. She was in the bathtub and ran around naked and bloody.
Paul, relax, usually you end up digging up the wrong park because you jump the gun.In the end we all end up at the same place and have equal chance of finding the thing. The first person to figure the park just gets to dig up the most ground for the rest of us and doesn't usually find it!
I have been getting pretty good at this over the past few years..this year I am leaning toward a very unique twist in the hunt...wanna hear it?
Up lifting story
Just trying to brighten your day...
Thats awful!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think they'll use that in the clues! Yucky!!!!
Up lifting story
Shoot Strike!
Up lifting story
LOL! Frostbite!
Lets hear it strikitrich
Up lifting story
Has anyone thought that East and West could refer to 7th st. W7th does go past highland
Frostbite,you just gotta be different don't you!LOL!
Up lifting story
The reference to circular thinking first made me think of Columbus Circle near the Capitol.A wild stab at best, but the clues thus far don't actually say the treasure's in a park this time-just public land.
The other clues don't really fit that location, except today's reference to depression could mean downhill on the Capitol approach. No bank nearby that I know of.
Hillcrest and the Highland Park area sound promising.
Not shoot...in other words...lets hear the twist, sorry no bad feelings...I am ignorant. what is LOL?
ok...what if it is not in a PARK! what about a PARK-ing lot? At a st. paul ice rink - on a CIRCLE street? In Energy PARK!
DAVID!! I didn't know you digged!LOL!
The medallion is hidden in the corpse of a dead pirate ballerina, killed in a fencing accident---got it--back to work
LOL = lots of luck
Good catch...Excel Energy Center? Probably too much traffic to hide it well there.
Thanks strikitrich...
History here says that your probably wrong although if your not you can rub it in all you want Strike!
They have only done such a thing once or twice that I recall 62,58,59and 69.
That was a different time, where there weren't as many lawsuits and problems politically with the hiding and finding.
LOL=Laugh Out Loud!
I asked the same question when I first came here too!LOL!
Clue #1 mentions the word duel which makes me think of fencing, which could mean near a fence.
"Keep on your toes'could suggest figure skating on a rink which is circular.I don't know how many folks can actually skate on their toes, but these clues can be convoluted.
The first 4 clues are convoluted.
Downtown Dave I think you you've finally figured it out!
Took you long enough!:)
Clue 1 = "toes" clue 3 = "figure" clue 4 = "play" ice skating and hockey.....and they have NOT said PARK they said beloved St. Paul
David,(now there's lots of Daves!!!!) I think you are right on your take, skating though I still have a hard time with but I have been wrong before!!
Has anyone come to a conclusion that it might be near the Pioneer Press
This is what I'm saying strike!!
The first 4 clues are convoluted.
How 'bout this...when I read the clue #4 to the little one, she kept thinking I was saying Plane, not playing...Hillcrest is right under a flight path...hmmm, from the mouth of Babes...
yesterday I went to Oscar Johnson ice arean on decourcy CIRCLE..in Energy PARK....and there is a huge PARK-ing lot and alot of chain link fence behind the open area???
Could be eclipse I'm not ready to rule anything out totally yet.Except that it is in St.Paul and it may or may not be a park.It is not a street or that narrow but public land, probably with a huge expanse of un dug up snow!!!
I'm already being sucked into the hunt once again ... in spite of the fact that I'm stuck in Northfield and have too much homework to do. Maybe my stats prof will give me extra credit if I can statistically prove the medallion is in a particular park. Too bad I have no solid ideas yet.
I don't have time for this! (But I just can't stay away.)
SCRIBE:Yes-I've been looking for that bit of plastic for more years than I care to admit.Last time I got close was at Conway Park on the East Side.
By that time the place was a zoo.
Oscar, a bunch of bolonga, I think you are on to something strikit!
In doing some reseach I have reached the following conclusions:
These numbers are based on the last 10 hunts.
Fats
Kid,your mom just called an said get back to studying!!!LOLOLOL!:)
Hey MF, does that make my chances of finding it 0?
SueButt,
yes
Fats
I'm still going on my hunch that it's not actually in but could be near a park. One time they hid it by the side of a highway.
We all have the same chance,Sue! We will all know the right place in a clue or two!
kid minneapolis talk to Fats, they can help you with the stats! LOL
Scribe, my thinking is that circular is refering to a newspaper or a newspaper place (private ground) etc... to far fetched
Is anybody still thinking Palace. Why/not?
David, they haven't done that in a long time,I think because of liability issues and neighbors, lawsuits etc.....too much risk nowadays.....I could be wrong have been before.....but I really don't think so!
Good job Fats
Strike, the parking lot is not big at Oscar Johnson Arena, and there is also cars that park there every day. It is NOT there. I guarantee you that.
Hey Cluemaster! Nice jacket last night! I got to see you but not talk to you!
Strike, the parking lot is not big at Oscar Johnson Arena, and there is also cars that park there every day. It is NOT there. I guarantee you that.
oh well...i thought it might work?
Hey All..have to go know...talk to ya later!
Happy domestic duties Sue!!
has anybody been out to dig lately?
Clue #3-"to the treasure that lies out of view".This after "circular thinking is ONE way of thinking.Maybe there's a circle and a square, and the treasure's out of view from the circle, but not the square.
For some reason, the treasure isn't in plain sight.
T. I went to Palace yesterday......some things fit too many that didn't........especially bothered me that Landmark brewery can be seen clearly from there but not 1st Bank sign...
My top 3 bury list still has a MN Wild hockey puck on it due to the treasure that lies out of view and the circular thinking (round puck)
I gotta go! Talk at you all later!
Scribe - Thanks - you @ conservatory later today?
Nah Clue! I have some things in real life to get done so we have time to hunt later this week! I'll see you soon I'm sure!:)
But this IS real life!! :) - See ya later
Jake and I checked out a park last night that I like a lot. At the time we were there it seemed iffy, but after we got back, the fact that I couldn't see the circular items actually convinced me more since the clue does imply the treasure is out of view when near the circles.
By the way Jake, if you read this, I feel really stupid. I thought that was my paper you were holding when you got out of the car. I didn't mean to steal it from you!
OK, I've crunched the numbers, and I can say with 93% certainty that the medallion is in McQuillan Park. Stats don't lie.
(This calculation has a 99.73% margin of error)
why do you think it's there? They never specified if it was in a park....
AW - Like your site and thoughts. Thanks for the reply. I think I'll put a shovel in at the 1st one just to say I did in case it turns out right. Did you see the volleyball poles? See ya at the Goves later
Hey Diggers -
Quick Question: Does anyone know of Rec Centers on the Eastern part of St. Paul (besides Conway). I know Hillcrest, and Groveland have been brought up, and these are plausible Western sites. But I am trying to nail down the Eastern ones now.
Prosperity has a Rec Center.
Yes, I did see those volleyball poles. They were even on the map in the guide. I was thinking of looking around there too. I don't think its on the playground, because I'm sure that if it was, the kids would have found it by now, knowing how kids are.
Hazel park is a rec center on the east side
Here is my dark horse pick:
El Rio Vista recreation Center 179 East Robie, St. Paul
Clue 1 = Loacted in St. Paul. I believe you can see downtown from the rec center.
Clue 2 = General clue, no great meaning
Clue 3 = Circular thinking: Rink, balls, etc. Possible reference to what it is hidden in.
Clue 4 = East and West: On east street but next to West St. Paul. Depressed: Depression era, President Roosevelt, Roosevelt Elem. is next to rec center.
Thoughts?
Fats
AW - Does it seem like a dig is plausable or will I get kicked out by some substitute teacher?
THX Kid and MNCheetah
Rec Centers:
AW - I feel that the next clue will have a 'cool C' to do with it for some reason. - Good job on the rec list. WOW! Fast!
I'm wondering that myself. It seems to fit all the clues perfectly, but its hard to imagine being able to dig there freely. Maybe that's why we need to be bold?
MF
Great dark horse. Comming from the west side, I always try to plug El Rio as the site, this year it kind of works.
AW - BIG THX
For what Snowball? Something on my site?
AW -
I had asked for Rec Centers (#13518), I thought this was in response. Either way, Thanks.
AW- Have you looked at any small rec center/parks?
Oh that! hehe, I forgot who even asked, but yes it was in response to that. If I had my Guide book here, I probably could have even told you which side each was on. But alas, I left it at home, not being entirely awake this morning.
Indeed I have Leah, almost exclusively at this point.
I know you never tell where"yet" but could at least tell me if any around Midway area, Summit area, of west end area?
AW -
In the same boat. Late on the horse this year, and just unearthed my copy last night. Up late looking, and not with it when I flew out the door this morning. Tonight is the last scouting night for me, starting to dig tomorrow. LOL
Everyone's still all over the place. I'm gonna rule out the small parks this year.
Here is a question for you - How many think the hunt will be done by next Wednesday, the 31st?
As some of you know, I teach community college and someone needs a sub that day. I am not sure if I should pick it up or not.
Allison, I just posted something curious on your site regarding your top pick. Let me know what you think.
I am off to scout soon. See you all later.
Big step Steve, but if anyone can make the decision, i guess it is you.
Leah, no I don't think its around any of those areas, except for Iris might be considered Midway. Otherwise you can check my Yahoo site and I have more information on there. I think I'll wait until at elast tomorrow and one more clue before I start advertising on here.
In fact..I rule out the small parks every year. Nothing smaller than Conway or Langford.
If I'm right leelabel, I'm sure it will be found this weekend. No more long hunts for the PP until they make me the clue writer! hehe
Newell was smaller than Conway.
Hair splitting.
I missed when Hidden Falls was ruled out. On the West side but East River road runs by it. Banks of the beside water type and US Bank. Not much for playing is it though. Hmm possible erasing of the drawing board.
Elsea...I like Hidden Falls. "Playing" is an insignificant word in this stanza.
TTHG - Thx for signing my book last night. I'll soil myself if your prediction is correct.
plus no mention of water yet, but good noodeling
You have a good point over there leelabel. Steve (Mr. Guide) says its a rec center. Not sure if that is its real classification, but I'm sure its still public ground. But I wonder if they would let people wander around there during the day with the kids around?
I personally like the omission of H2O, Park, paths etc. words
CM..ditto. Give it a look in that spot in the next day or two. I 'spect I'll get out late tomorrow night.
A few comments before I go out - someone earlier suggested near the ice rink on Energy Park and Snelling. I used to work at Merrill Corporation. I can tell you that it is not there. Merrill uses that lot during the day and has an agreement with the city regarding its use.
Allison, if we are both right about it being in a small park - it will definately be over this weekend. Maybe I should take those hours.
Finally, I used to live in Prospect Park in Mpls. I lived in an apartment right on the St. Paul side of the river. In fact, St. Paul was about 3 feet from my door. The entire parkway along the river (I think called Mississippi River Blvd) is all city owned "park" land. I am not sure if the clues match, but it is a thought.
Allison, I am going to drive over there this afternoon. I will report back later. Bye all
The argument against Hidden Falls:
Hidden Falls is a park, and they have not said its in a park.
Hidden Falls is a large park. If it were a large park, they would have put more effort I think into narrowing down the park already so that later clues could be used to tell where in the park.
No mention of water yet.
No playing in any obvious way in the park (how could that word be insignificant?)
No clear circular reference.
TTHG - well I've got BOTH editions of the book and 3 years practice. If I am not even getting 'close' maybe I shouldn't try. LOL. Hidden also has a circular drive area by all those parking lots.
well I think it will end up being in a small park/rec center this year- and that's all I got to say about that!
Allison..don't let Leelabel take that drive.
