Hey, Ms Sharky, where in NJ?
Palace is smaller than Conway. That would be really crowded.
East and West are part of our test Though only one is the proper place If this choice leaves you depressed Playing might put a smile on your face
Hi Tiny. I met Electric D tonight.
does anyone have the new clue.?
Thank you DD!
I doubt I'll be at McGovern's tomorrow....just a little hard with 3 little ones, and being under the weather. I felt bad leaving them this evening (the oldest has it bad). But I'll be out digging - and for sure there will be the ReHash Bash on the 4th.
Thank you DD
thanks dd now i can sleep
Downtown Dave, you rock my world! Thank you!
thanks downtown dave you the man!!!
Hooray, DD! Thanks!
thanks downtown dave you the man!!!
East and West = High and Low = Highland
Thanks, DD! Now I have something to noodle for a couple hours!
Saved you all 8 minutes--paper not realeased until 11:45 pm
thanks DD
dd is the man
Hopefully it is actually published correctly tonight....
I wish I could format by line!
E&HM, I understand fully. Please save one for "Gregor". Good hunting!
well I'm still confused
DD, I was able to do it by hitting the return bar twice.
If you ask me...Phalen is the only BIG park left in the hunt
Thanks Dave!!! The playing could mean playground. East or West means you can rule out any park in the middle of town. Test could mean near a school.
Just some thoughts.
playing = playground in park?
Teddy, Why not Highland, Battle Creek or Como?
East and west are part of our test
Though only one is the proper place
If this choice leaves you depressed
Playing might put a smile on your face
would depressed lead toward Swede Hollow? nothing else has pointed that direction.
Thankyou
Now when I go to West MinneHaHa to look I will have to smile. Just a guess.
ohhh thanks rush
East and West: Como and Highland are neither, battle creek is south
Doesn't high and low = north and south?
or playing at como
Well guys, 4:30 comes early...got to get under the blankets for tonight. If the kids aren't sick tomorrow, I must return to work. Goodnight and SCMD's! (Sweet Cooler Medallion Dreams)
If anyone is thinking Phalen still the only thing that comes to my mind is east eastshoredrive is maplewood side west is st paul just a thaught
Not a problem DD, thanks for posting it.
East and West could be a nearby freeway as well. Depressed...Playing puts smile on face a playground in a depression in the ground, or lower ground than the park.
KEEP REACHING !!! Use some old fashioned.......
maureen, that is a great noodle. you can see the gold cross on top of St. Agnes! The our town reference to Wilder works too (Wilder foundation nearby). This has got potential.
Maureen...ooh yeh, your on.
Think big Maureen.
the incorrect choice, would have a playground...?
Well, at least the on-line and paper versions match tonight...
Hi,
how about Highland - it is about as far West as you can get in St. Paul, and since most of the park is down near the river, the depression part of the clue would fit. Don't remember if there is a playground or not..
Eastview Playground? East Shore Drive (Phalen?). Estabrook (Como)?
Erik..not Highland..but close.
Nothing for sure yet, I am out for the night. May cooler heads prevail.
Sorry, I meant Hidden Falls..
Leaves...Falls? Out of View...Hidden
I was just about to go, but SueButt, excellent noodling, that has some good potential.
I think this is so funny.....it is obvious where it is..and everyone keeps stumbling over their own feet...lol
Where do East Mississippi and West Mississippi Blvd meet? In St. Paul?
What were the war references that were previously noodled?? Just a thought about Fort Snelling being across river from hidden.
#27, If it is so obvious, why don't you simply enlighten the rest of us?
Hey TreasureHunter'sGuide, I snuck a peek at pic #103, sorta on the same level as west minnehaha..
where do u think it is????
#27...I know what you said earlier for a park and I believe your right
West Minnehaha has lots of potential since one side road is called grotto (depression). Can we make any of the other clues fit?
then you all would go there and then i could find it and win the 10k
east and west...94?
West Minnehaha. Mini = shrinking
Any lurkers with good thoughts??
proper place= all proper names are capitalizied (East) just a thought
#27...do you have an MSN Instant Messenger? I have some questions I'd like to ask you...maybe some speculation also
Does anyone know if there is a county road I near any of the mentioned parks? Clue 3 could be reverencing that...
I may have to start digging tomorrow! Thanks for the helping me think big Steve!
=)
Birdie: West Minne...right up our alley
Dbt cnty rd I would be in st. paul.
#27, you made compeling points for the sixth month (I will respect your wish), but how does it tie into this clue?
that kicks ass brew man...you are on to somethin i think....
The east side of Phalen is in St. paul, the west is in maplewood. St. Paul is the proper place, oh and wouldn't the "Arcade" put a smile on your face?? May be too early for streets, doubt they'd refer, but then again think of Newell.
This I think is telling us it may be on the East Side of St. Paul
This might be too much of a stretch, but Hidden Falls could also be considered the East side of the Mississippi & the West side of St. Paul, hence the 'East AND West' in the clue.
I got directions backwards in post, st.paul west, maplewood east.
If I had to choose a park at this point, it would be more than likely Phalen Park. Look for an area that is 'fenced in' the med will be 'buried' in a snowbank wrapped in a TCF deposit envelope
With a lot of joy and mirth: King Boreas hid his treasure somewhere on Earth!
what makes you think a tcf deposit envelope?
Good night everyone. Sleep tight, and save your energy. Don't get in your car yet. Think PILLOW, PILLOW, PILLOW. See you in the park in a couple of days.
figured out tonights clue, theirs a hill at the park (west or east is the bottom of the hill), leaving you depressed (meaning the bottom), makes you smile. so what park has a hill going east and west, hmm, battle creek maybe, GREEN
Buenos Noche Amigos!!
WW you are so close yet so far..
bank accout part of a clue
East OR West, I think is the point being made?
I know that *linking clue refers to a fence for sure
am I reading too much into it?? proper place- PP --Phalen Park//
only East is capitalizied however and in my opinion that would more than likely be more 'proper'
East OR West, I think is the point being made?
pioneer press??? yes u are
Time for bed then, noodlin too much. Night all
what about the depression era? Who were the presidents at that time?
East OR West, I think is the point being made?
also what about where east and west meet? Oh what about arlington ave.? arlington cemetary is a depressing place right? and that run right into Phalen
all of you noodle to hard ..but if you put all of your thoughts together youll get warmer...
Some how the clue writer is throwing us all off by trying to arrange the first letters to deter us. I feel as though, the first letter of the last word of eack line may be more suitable to grasp at. or something along that line of thinking
East OR West, I think is the point being made?
think kitty might have a great insight on that
You would be depressed if you were "phalen" a test.
hey i think circular =wheels linking=lock= wheelock east fhalen west como wheelock runs into bolth parks!!
Good Evening!
Great seeing the crew at McGovern's tonight. Not such a great clue though. Pretty vague.
Drove around the Capital Mall on the way home and did see a couple of hunters out there.
I'm gonna sleep on this and hopefully find something in my sleep that will put this all together.
Goodnight and SCMDs!!!
Ya know....that makes sense.
I agree with the phalen deal Eastshore drive there also is frisbe street Arcade Just some thaughts
East OR West, I think is the point being made?
circular, i believe points to the 'holes' of a fence therefore, linking together. In all, look for a fence near the spot. And the later part of that clue, tells us it is in a bank envelope of some kind
what does everyone think about "phalen" a test?
the adress for phalen is 1000 E Wheelock pkwthat is the rec center
or in a box that held checks..
sounds to me if we are playing a game the courts are running east and west tennis, basketball ,ect
nighty night terri dream of getting rich
If no one like's my "Phalen" a test so you would be depressed clue just say so!
SO
kitty that's not bad, strecthing but not bad
Kitty I think it is a good idea I am still thinking that could be the park
Somehow this latest clue triggers us to the right park such as a name of someone or something. I say this in reference to a proper place. A name if you will
no no, phaelen is not divieded between maplewood and saint paul east west wise, its north and south. i like the thought on hidden falls though, and that whole park is a depression
also, very strongly believe though if water was at the park (ie lake, or river) it would of been mentioned by the 4th clue.
I'm out to look at Phalen. see ya!
winger not bad
kitty your phalen a test was done years ago it was a clue!! U must be phalen hahahah
Kitty dont waste your time.its not there..
I'm thinking no about phalen
think they all fell asleep...
guess so
and just when i was going to tell them all where it is...
Why you all not think phalen?
hey gang just thinking i see in the paper all the time east and west bridge games do u think their talking about them or im i loseing it LOL
It's time for "Buffy" (videotaped). See ya.
Bridge i mean kinda streaching it??
your right on the money MM
im here, just lost in thought. it seems the more clues that come out the more possible places i find
I'm still chillin...just digging through information
I'll bet we can go to any park in the city and match all the clues!!!
like what marley
not true MM but you are so warm to where it is you dont see it..
Are there any streets that are named Cemetary road?? It would be nice if there was one that went east and west... just a thought
what the hell does this mean not true MM but you are so warm to where it is you dont see it..
I finally got registered on this thing. This system is really hosed this year. Silly me, I forgot my password from last year. But I was able to keep my login basicly the same. Except with some explimation points.
if it was up my as* i would know where it is lol
I just got back into town. So I'm on later in the hunt than normal. Was vacationing in Florida. Nice 4 day weekend.
like como,hidden falls,battle creek,phalen,mounds,western,marydale,and w.minnehaha
what im saying is he cemented right where i think it is..
There is a cemetary road but it is St Paul park lol
think that it's at a park without statues and a GOLF course. so that means no phalen, no highland, no como
ya dig keep going....
look at the big parks without golf courses that are in st. paul
not convinced it doesnt have golf course or statues, just to leave them alone
hey a another thing that would be so bold to hide in the same park back to back!!never been done!!
what do you guys think about battle creek
well you should be because there is none of that where its at...
no battle creek...
big parks without are hidden falls, battle creek, and mounds: all on my list and cherokee which isnt. im not ruling out parks whithout.
do you really think they would get us to go out there 3 years in a row, the whole reason they put it a newell last year was because everone thought it was there the year of conway
I once went down this road in Woodbury and there was a sign that said dead end. When I got to the end of the road to turn around lo and behold there was a cemetry right there. :)
what??/
why there Ken a, why no battle creek
ken A your not from deanoyer are you??
well all the clues have SOMETHING in them lets start with one what do you get from it ?and ill tell you what i get..from it..
denoyer no...
what's that there ken
desnoyer?? 3 room school house?? beer drinker hell raisers
Clue 1 simply states the medallion has been hidden somewhere in Ramsey County. Then it tells you good luck in your quest. Thats it. period.
no more comments from the peanut gallery
brew man are you saying that it's in ramsey area and not just st. paul
ad infinitum.......GREEK
Greek -- sweet
At this stage of the game, the medallion is hidden in RAMSEY COUNTY somewhere. This includes the city of St. Paul
you're a GEEK
the clue says our beloved st. paul is the place of gold, -- meaning look in st. paul
why would they say st. paul if we already know that it's hidden in ramsey, it's there to narrow it down
well that also...
hey kenny u dum ass basterd suck my ass
LOL
so what are we down to here we got MM and ken a, is that about it, i'm out of here
sorry could not help it hahah sorry kenny
yes everyone else is at phalen...lol
LOL
I seem to doubt any one is looking very hard any where as of yet
how about clue#2?
hey, i was a lurker and digger last year. thought i'd talk this year.
have to hunt vicariously with ya. i'm outta the country til clue 15.
with some of the clues suggesting hidden falls i'm wondering about that loop that's really in crosby farm but links to hidden falls. it's about across from the fort and the 35e bridge is there.
please dont' find it until the 16th clue so i have a little time to dig.
WG - If it goes to 16 I'LL pay you the 10 G's
Hell, if it goes to 13 I'll cough it up for you.
I wanna think "for" refers to the number 4 and our wonderful town makes me think of the movie its a wonderful life bing CROSBY??
It's a Wonderful Life had Jimmy Stewert in it not Bing Crosby. Nice noodlin though
don't tell me that.
was so close last year. i had come up with newell, then found out about this board. everyone was saying the same thing. i spent a whole lotta time digging.
wonder what is the latest clue it has lasted til.
WG - Probably not past 12 clues since that's how many clues there are total.
Sorry bud - Your help is appreciated though
Jimmy Stewart I meant then I knew it was one of those people sorry
oh man. i'm out of it.
at least it's summer here.
It's gone till the end on a few occasions - Has always been found though
Tell me who actually would rip open a diaper and look inside???
WG - I guess you found your shinny medallion up in the sky.
What's the temp there?
i'm going to go cry in my beer. i won't get to dig.
i'll just have to enjoy the hunt through everyone here.
good luck diggin' everyone.
if i have something smart to say (not very often) i'll pipe up. other wise back to lurking.
temp here is about 22....course that's C.
i'm in nz right now.
I'd rip open a steamy piece of runny dog crap if I seen it. I've heard too many would of- could of - should of stories not to. Besides what else you got going on. If I find a Coke can I'm excited.
Then again I'm married :)
WG - New Zealand?
How long does it take to get here from North Zambia?
yupper. just got back from aukland. in wellington now. been down under for the winter (working)
ohhh. New Zealand. Why didn't you say so?
I thought it was summer there this time of year. At least fall time
it is summer 22 c = about 70 farenheit
kinda windy tho...it always is
human - :) I guess I didn't think of where else he could be. North Zaire?
Wow, what a lot of slogging, though I don't see much of anything convincing. I wonder if I can get the PP to make me the clue writer by threatening to tell everyone where it is this year and have the hunt end in 7 days again? At least I'm somewhat confident about where I think it is.
ha...you've all been noodling too long.
can you do something about the weather there in the next couple weeks?
You foreigners and your confusing ways ;)
i've still got the mn accent tho. 3 months doesn't get rid of that.
everyone thinks i'm from canada
WG - You're close enough to Canada. We just make more money is all.
Care to share Mr. A? I agree with the low level sloggin tonight.
Whew! - A lot to read but little to process
exchange rates are a beautiful thing. :-)
haven't seen a lot of talk about one park. looks like it's still up in the air.
wonder if we're reading too much into these first clues given that pp probably wants to drag this out longer than last year.
I like to sit and noodle as much as the rest but i wonder if maybe they haven't even given us the park yet.
Iris park has a west lynhurst ave and an east lynhurst ave
Nice one Daddy
Well, I did promise to not spill the beans again this year, though I did post my theory on my club if you're a member of that. Basically though keep in mind that Clue #4 says East AND West, not OR. So perhaps the answer is a place where you have both, and there is such a park, and after having been there tonight, it seems to fit all the rest of the clues pretty well too, and I don't think you even need to stretch them to do so.
Well Ken A, I think we all know what the a stands fore in your name, so why didn't you just add the rest?? Something tells me that PIE has a new identity ken!!!
Still fits too many parks at this time for me, have some parks more favored than others, but just can't determine.
how do you guys check for new messages? my refresh is really slow. i keep hitting previous, then recent...loading the two pages is faster than refreshing the one.
Weim, go to the last post and click the left posting number in blue
xcellent. thanks.
A...don't tell anyone where it is. i need it to go to clue 16...lol
now i know the error of my ways
East River road at hidden falls which is on west side of st. paul
and west 7th street crosses it
Well anyway, I'm pretty sleepy and have to get up at 6:30AM. Then may go hunting tomorrow after work.
allison then we all should hang it up,it should be in your pocket..
good luck A. i just read your idea...seems likely.
won't be any competition for ya tho.
it's 9:30 here. i gotta do some work before i crash.
i'll see you all later.
A - I thought I seen your brain working OT before I left you guys tonight. Hope your on to something. SCD's
Nice meeting you
See ya WG from NZ
Well there's always the chance you'll beat me to it since I won't be out until tomorrow night. Plus I hate digging. Mostly I just like to claim credit for being the first one to figure it out. :)
cm...adios mate. i'm just gonna draft some docs...
i'll check in in a little while. maybe i'll have something smart to say.
good luck
AW - Nothing wrong with that either. Especially if you beat Green at it :)
Geez, just think I come in here and express ALL my thoughts and ideas with everyone. I feel cheated. :)
talk is cheep takes money to buy booze
With 20 years and 50 pounds later, I don't dig as much as I used to either. Oh well, it stimulates the brain anyway
You have a point MM - Time to open another beer
been doing this a long time and i love it. use to sit by the press with tv in truck and wait for the next clue. when it got down to the nitty gritty they would just throw the pappers out on the street what a mad house!!! it was great!!!!!!
Good night to all, my bed is the proper place for me
SCD's Big Daddy - I just missed you tonight. I heard you had past years CC buttons to sell.
I remember too MM. Could get that way again.
gee i wish all the cell phones & computers but the hunt will surive
Survive at a different level is all. Other than the final 2 or 3 clues, I don't see a cell or lap top helping too much.
Looking back on many hunts I see the locusts go from one end of the park to the other depending on what the flavor (clue) of the day is. When it's all said and done, it's right in the middle of all those spots. Best advise is (and I know you didn't ask) is to find open snow and dig. Don't follow the puck like the Peewee's do in hockey if you know what I mean.
Kitty are you there?
yes I am here!
If you are there, ake a look at allisons site and let me know if you think it is a good idea.
I think that Allison is on the same track as we are. I know he went tonight. I feel even better about it now!
Heh, lots of ideas. I've seen Como's parkway with an E and a W... I also like the Wheelock address of Phalen, though.
Also, there's an ampitheater at Como, right? Playing might put a smile on your face may be referring to the theatrical kind. A limb, but a feasible one.
-Matt
Why isn't my .HTML working?
where is the w como parkway?
malachi crunch, I am so ready!!!!!!!
yeah!!!!
matt are you still there?
Hey I was at Phalen tonight and saw a east side poetry thing and it mention that something was to the west of it. Another poetry thing I think.
I guess I am the only one still up, gonna have a smoke and go to bed and dream of the medallion!
Oh bye the way there is also a lake called round lake at Phalen, but it's in Maplewood
Hello?! I would still like to noodle over my last smoke. Is anybody out there?
can't get enough huh,
I've been looking back at what has been said since 12:30, not too much here I guess it is a hard hunt this year!
I'm sure not up.
Any ideas?
Yeah, I guess it is. Done with my smoke, talk to you tomorrow
check back in about a week.
Bye.
I'm sure I'll have some ideas in a week myself.
The parkways divide around the lake, I believe, sorry for the delay.
are you talking about Phalen lake?
kitty have you seen my cat??
You can find almost anything on the internet, but your hidding cat ain't one of 'em
look under pussy
wheelock runs into como& phalen
GOOD NITE ALL WORK THE LATE SHIFT SEE YA HERE LATER
#4 tells us a school is located near the medallion
