hide& ....nothing I do work for 3m
Question to ponder...some response would be appreciated...
Could set your own pace and/or opposites attract refer to a path marked for both walking/running and bicycles????
Let us all verbally noodle this.
Logan -- I spent like 4-5 DAYS in that god forsaken park!!! I hate it!!!
I SAY MAYBE MAC
ya know, they haven't mentioned any trees yet, and there are a damn lot of trees at newell.
no
Could be MacGrove
Right on mac man! I like the sound of that.
Mac -- I like it alot!
so where are you thinking MacGrove
OOH DO THEY HAVE A NEWELL PARK IN COLORADO?
No bike/walking paths at Newell
why
It was just a hunch....that path, along with viable answers to the other clues still exist at ......
INDIAN MOUNDS PARK
what about the anagram...we have to have gotten one by now....astute=statue is pretty obvious...but any others??
king marley is going to jamaica
Why rule out Phalen? That park has paths, so does Como.
Did you go to PP in tropical attire?
You know what....i don't know if people know this or not,
but bow hunters and archers do practice at Phalen...if you go around "round
lake" there are archery stands back there.
"Well trained eye" "hunters" "attack"
ya man
I'd rule out parks with other events planned at them...too much havoc
could the right track mean that the park is to the right of the train tracks?
good bye
BYE KING
It's at Oxford!!
Good night Hunters....rest easy, it wont be found for days...
OXFORD? WHERES THAT NEVER HERD OF IT!!
I went down there in tropical attire...kind of a farce...need not be present to win drawing...no tropical attire required...got picked for a hula hoop contest with one other guy winner gets a ticket...I think htey put lead in mine.
Doggy...that archery is clever...where is that in relation to the other clues at phalen.
Lexington - Between Uni and Selby
Between Marshall and Selby...why there logan...what are your thoughts?
So you didn't win MacGrove?
I don't have any- this is making me crazy

LEXINGTON AND UNI DONT INTERSECT
stepdog, the oppisite of foul and cloudy clear.
It's on Lex between Uni and Selby
Well Mac...it's kind of like a little cubby area tucked in
the back of Phalen....there is however a little covered canopy and grills (if my
memory serves me right) And if you look north you can see a couple towers.....
Not sure if I won the drawing...will know tomorrow!
DOGG YOU TALKIN MY LINGO MY MAN
yes they do. it's across the street from central high.
LOGEN THANX:) WE WILL CHECK IT OUT
Maybe it's at Dunning
UNI and LEX do Cross...White Castle is on the corner...
DOGG you are thinking exactly EXACTLY LIKE ME
Rust -- you know the area I'm talkin' about?
I would rule Dunning out...School Property!
BUT WHAT IS AT DUNNING THERE IS NOTHING THERE!!
What School Central or Concordia?
just a question...how is the opposite of foul=clear?????
NAH
HEEL YEAH DAWG
Foul water, clear water
OPP OF CLOUDY IS CLEAR
Good Night to all...we shall see you, if only in verse, tomorrow! If anyone has any great ideas...please feel free to share them to my e-mail.
P.S.--Nice to meet you MedallionFreak!
PEACE OUT MAC
I like the fact the in Phalen you can see atower to the north and if your on high ground in the park you can see 2 towers

Damn right New Daddy! That's why it says "a tower or two SHOULD come into view"...they make a point to look for towers, but you may not see TWO!!!
Well... I think Phalen yust got blown outta the water... (sigh).
what do you mean green??
Phalen- Schmalen
green---noodle, noodle?
ms. green.
GREEN NICE TO MEET U FINELY GET TO SAY HI
logan=thick skulled?
Step, Clear Avenue izz what I was talking about. If you use your Word
Theusarus, "clear" comes up as an antonym for "foul." Cloudy being the opposite
of clear speaks for ittself.
But *eye* don't see how #6 in any way has anything to do with Phalen.
Logan= tired and frustrated
I donno Green it still could be anywhere... Many parks still fit , how was your digging??
GREEN GET YOUR FREAKIN MAPBOOK OUT CLEAR ave RUNS INTO THE DRINK BRO
Green why so secretive about CLEAR earlier?
Oh green .... no it does. scroll back and look for orange typing...i had a pretty decent idea for #6.
Hi, all!
Was CONVINCED Phalen until #6 came out. I've been slogging for almost two
hours!
My digging wasn't very profitable, tho I *did* find a genuine purple Vikings
ear warmer! LOL!!!
Kind'a fitting, don't you think! :>
dogg has the NOODLE whipin!!
Actually I think fair is a better oppisit for both cloudy and foul.. what about mood???
was it in a depression?
Oh I'm on FIRE tonight baby....no sleep for the StepDogg tonight!
GET RID of DeKnee GREEN!
PIE - 01:35am Jan 28, 2000 CST (#5454 of 5454)
BIG ol BRONCO JANE COMIN to Ya With 2 FOUR of a
KINDS!!
If it's in SWEDE HOLLOW that means the QUEENS rule, NOT DeKnee!!!
6 hints to well trained eye= archery N shore dr ALL the way up
Step, I read it - tho really, I can't remember it now... Something about
archery????
I don't buy it, Step. *If* Clear Avenue was pinpointing things, I'm thinking
The Med would have been in the west side o'Phalen, where there are no gates.
I've still not searched for info, like "Munger" and "Wheelock", but I'm
willing to bet you a TON o'money, I was wrong, wrong, wrong. I've wasted lots
o'time in Phalen.
I *told* you was bad at this! LOL! Sad thing izz, I'm not really reading
into/stretching the clues.
Oh, well. I can't get any worse at this, only better! :>
JOE!!!
green not pinpointing anything BUT the RIGHT park
Green -- don't lose hope and start listening to these Newell fanatics. I did that last year and got SCREWED.
#6 fits Swede Hollow and Iris.
daddy opp/mood = DOOM LOL
Anybody got any ideas about "stays on the attack"
Step, I can proudly say I was NEVER in Newell last year!
No offense, but I never bought that. That screwy story o'the tree in the
shape of a "4" just cracked me up!
green swede, and IRIS have 1 thing in common neither have BOTH Pavilion and Picnic grills (clue 4)
I'm out- talk to you later- BYE
IGREEN,,,RIS??? WERE IS IRIS?
Green...the thing that REALLY got me was the 9 5 and somewhere a 4....you can see the KS-95 tower from there and on the radio they are 94.5 (now i don't know if it really was the ks 95 tower!!!)
stay on the attack= dont give up on PHALEN ....MOST people forget the NORTH side of the park where the ARCHERY PITS are
Daddy, I'm thinking the tracks at Swede Hollow, or the Amtrak rails.
I've read so much, I'm now going goofy(er! :>) Does Pig's Eye have
anything to do with Swede Hollow? Reason I ask, HE was a "rapscallion."
KS95 tower and KSTP AM directly north of yes you got it PHALEN
Rusty--you are exactly right!! Well, if i see you there i will know it's you cause no one else is buyin' it!!!
well all I can tell you one thing I was out there tonight in my shorts and i definately know what park it is at......I can't tell you which park but i will tell you that if you read clue 6 carefully it will give you 2 parks to choose from.....I gaurentee that it is in one of the two i just won't tell which two
Good Evening all. The tropical dress for a chance at a trip thing was a sham. People were submitting their names even when they weren't dressed up. I was really quite dissappointed in the way they set things up.
Rusty, where is that? East side? West side? East side, isn't that where the
Munger trail izz???
There is a Pig's Eye Park, but I don't think it is accessable.
freak BLOW me!
HUNTER,chase, bow and friggin arrows COULD BE CHEROKEE but NADA
snow I was there too....I thought it was a big joke myself but it was kind of cool to see most of the people dressed up
why not cheerokee?
Its my birthday tonight (27th), was hoping I'd run into the medallion somewhere and ease my financial burdens....but I guess I'll just have to work for a living to get the mula. Got a lot of neat ideas in here though....
See ya in the snow I'm falling asleep thinking about tracks and rapscalions...
The only place I saw any reference oi Pigs eye was on a plaque at Kellogg Good Luck...
Well, I *thought* I was gonna go to bed.....
green TRACKS will send all you doods packin to the parks near RRXing?
'pigs eye' PARAANT operated illegal pubs in the prohibition days and bootlegged he lived and owned property in the DAYTONS BLUFF area
MOM--that's the spirit!
HAPPY B_DAY KIKI!!!!!
did you get any!! <weg>
hello all
Pigs Eye park is just about directly across highway 61 from Battle Creek park - south a bit. I've never been there. Drive past all the time. Sure doesn't look like much of a park is in there. Don't know *how* one would get there.
hey kiwi...what's your take on all this madness?
well all it's about time to hit the hay i got to get an early start tomorrow....don't want anyone finding but me.... :-) happy hunting all
P.S. Mac Grove nice to meet you too!!
Hay, Mom. Well, so much for "Clear"! Phalen's been shot down, in my opinion.
Rusty, read #4, like this:
"Some places to gain relief from the rain will serve - read this well - you
cooking."
That is #4. Pure and simple.
I'm not to keen on the idea of fairview being equal to the cloudy and foul reference. Why? the opposite of foul=fair....I'll give you that, but foul=view...don't think so. You can have a "fair" view even if its cloudy in the sky.
Can you get Prosperity to fit the clues - Clear runs into it
Don't know yet just got here
YEAH MOM...YOU GO GIRL...I SAW YOU IN AND OUT TODAY, HELLO, NICE TO MEET YOU. ANY CLUES ON THE DIG?
Green -- are you sure you aren't sayin' that cause we have awesome Phalen ideas? Why is it shot down????
KIWI...WAY...I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD A "RAT"
GREEN.....noodle deeper babe
Lee, why? About "Prosperity". What park's there?
I *guess* you could use "profitable profession" from #1, but without knowing
more, I'm stretching things.
I've got to go bock to Square One.
Damn! This Hunt DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!
My gut said Swede Hollow yesterday when I saw "Vikings Depression" for the first time. That was in the morning. Checked it out a little in the afternoon, more last night. Can't say it's at 100%. Especially with this latest clue.
Anyone heard of Ochem's Razor (sp)?
MY GOD!!! the whole "viking's depression" thing is just a
cute introduction!!!! It doesn't mean ANYTHING!!!!
We can forget about their loss by hunting is ALL it means!!!!!
GREEN ANY MAP WILL SHOW THIS east of lake phalen and north of MARYLAND ave 5 blocks we have hmmmmmmmmmmmCLEAR AVENUE
Ever since green brought up the Clear Ave idea I've been trying to get the clues to fit to Prosperity Rec Center. I have some ideas but they don't all fit. Maybe a drive by tomorrow.
Suddenly, Battle Creek doesn't seem so off base.
Step, no. There are no tracks at Phalen. There are "walking paths," but there
are no "tracks."
In #6, you've got "trained" and "tracks". Now, the Munger trail..
Well, wasn't that once a train track? Was, but I'm not sure about in
Phalen... Wait... Yes! No! No wasn't... or was it?
Oh, dear... Am I noodling deeper, or am I stretching things...
I HATE THIS HUNT!!!!
I gotta do some snurfing (sniffing and surfing!) on The 'Net...
PS...AND VIKINGS ARE FROM NORWAY...NOT SWEDEN. IT IS JUST AN INROTUCTION TO A NEW PASTIME (CAUSE WHO REALLY CARES ANYWAY??)
Allison are you back yet??
Walking paths....tracks.....what's the difference????
When my mom used to say "stay on the right track" it just meant go in the
right direction!!!
Reading too deep!!!!!
tracks IS the misleading clue
HELLO KIWI...R U WITH US? R U CHECKING PREVIOUS POSTS? HELLO
DOGG where you live??
Hide n seek what are you talking about rat?
Rusty, Clear Avenue izz what sent me to Phalen over 24 hours ago. I was
digging at 1: 30 a.m. on the west side o'the park, south of the ice rinks, and
south of Clear Avenue. I had Clear Avenue 5 minutes after #5 came out.
I lined up two red flashing towers to the north.
Didn't find The Med, but found the Vikings' ear warmer when I went bock in
the day! :>
<~~~~~maplewood 'witches woods' just east of hillcrestCC
Rust about 5 min. from Phalen. I've been around it so many times i know it like the back of my hand!!!
Staying on the attack seems like it could be another reference to battle (w-a-r-s?). And the use of "lesson" makes me think of the school that's there.
Yeah I was checking the previous posts
KIWI.."RAT"..DAY CARE THIS AM? AMY?????
Green--around the ICE RINKS????? that is nowhere near the park. the ice rinks are at the rec center!
GREEN I KNOW I KNOW but you are not going to pinpoint it yet?!!!!! the clear and other clues are only GIVING coordinates/grid of park
Hi butthead
so glad your all in here and not out "tracking" up the parks
Hide & Seek , et al....Swedes were Vikings, too. Ya sure... http://viking.no/e/ewho.htm
I have been here the whole time, but I cannot think of anything to say because I am stumped
NOODLE ME THIS isnt the LAKE itself considered PARK prop???? YES YES ??? SEE where I am going LOTS of freakin snow to shvel NOW
I am still trying to figure out what you are saying hiden seek
Mom, I like that... But I can't get anything else to match BC.
Step and Rusty, you may have something about "staying on the right track,"
but I don't think so.
The Munger Trail (Step, there's a HUGE difference between track and trail -
at least to me) izz on the east side o'Phalen, and that's Maplewood over there.
I don't think they'd refer to it.
are you amy or mommy
MAPLEWOOD IS IN RAMSEY COUNTY
green you are getting too deep babe !!! maybe you should pass the cannibus? <weg>
Got news for you, Rusty, that's part of the park. Yup. That western section
with the rinks, et al, is part o'Phalen Park.
Dammit....i get so confused sometimes!!!! I think a damn computer is writing these clues....what the hell is this person!!!
I know Maplewood is in Ramsey County, that's why I don't believe a clue would
refer to the Munger Trail.
And I cannot get #6 to fit Phalen. No way.
Bock to the drawing board fur moi!
this clue doesn't help much
Mom, I think "attack" is yust used as a rhyming word.
I'm back. Dug out the bench where I found that newspaper but nothing. Still I think I'm in the right park.
DOGG you gonna roll out to our Secret Rendevouz 'point' 2 morrow?/err ahh 2 day?
how is everyone interperting this clue?
Hey green, what does someone who is on the right track do?
Rust -- Tomorrow for me. Bright and early!!!
I'm interpreting it that it is fitting more and more into MY park
Hey, are you on the right track
I know, I know....it's the lack of sleep getting to me.
hunts, chases a TRAIL? <perk>
The scarecrow, the tinman and the lion were driving around at parks with toto. We took a wrong turn on the yellow brick road and ended up at OZ. Now "we are on the right track."
Allison -- are you STILL looking at Midway????
Rusty, they're *not* gonna put The Med on any lake because, a) some fool
might dig to China, fall thru the ice and drown. Which'd bee Nature weeding out
the stupid, but The Med would bee LOST!
Also, on Lake Phalen, there's the car races: "Set your own pace and it could
make you an ace."
YAWN anyone get any 2night??? sleep obviously not!!
Someone who is on the right track Does Well, correct?
Green -- you first instinct is ALWAYS your best one. PHALEN
Midway? Stadium? Of course not. They'd never hid it there. But I am in the Midway area of St. Paul
Allison get my mail??
I'm sorry but, I don't think it is at Phalen they would have mentioned water or something to give us a better idea and plus I thought and was told that the park it is in has to be open 24 hours
Regal, I'm so tired. All I can think of for someone staying on the right
track is "lose weight" - Nordic Track.
I'VE GOT IT!!! That's the Viking reference!!!
I'M A GENIUS!!!
oops didn't see that
"Set your own pace and it could make you an ace."
COULD also mean -mall walkers set their own pace-==mall
ACE = ace ventura>jesse ventura hence capitol mall park???LOL
Kiwi--it's been at Phalen before. Como closes and it was there just 3 years ago!
Hide-n Seek are you there or here? What were you talking about earlier I didn't understand?
Observations: Wood recycling plant at Pigseye= extract? Lots of parks on Pleasant Street Lambert's (Lower Landing) on WARNER road An attraction of opposites could have brought Mary and Dale together. Opposites attract clue may = bathroom clue 5, maybe 6 parks have statues Phalen is still ok in my book. So is the battle creek area. I get bad vibes from Highland. I have begun to consider smaller parks.
I still don't think its at phalen but, that's my own personal opinion
Schlett -- what's up, buddy!
PHALEN PHITS PHALEN PHITS
i'm back...slight case of cybercrashing..hey mom...cool..were all vikings!! hey kiwi..yah it's momma!!
Green...... ding!
dogg??? wanna shoot some archery 'marra?
The ONLY way I can get #6 into Phalen izz with "attack."
The hockey rinks and the 1/5 basketball thingy. And that all smacks too much
o'Conway - like deja vu. Don't think that's it.
Hi, Allison. Well, at least you're prolly on the right track! :> So you
should find it soon!
Newell not it, mounds is not it,phalen is not it, but the Wizard knows if you have a sharpe eye, you will be "on the right track"
Allison, did you go there and look?
Is there any parks that are near and within seeing range of a tack like used for highschool students to do there track meets or something?
emmy and hannahs mom has the sexiest font???= )
I did go and look. Stuck to the one bench where I found the newspaper with the article on the Vikings (damn I was sure it was inside that paper!) Beyond that I was getting cold and didn't have any ideas where to go next.
track also is SLANG for 18 HOLE golf course <perk>
Is that where you found the paper??
I'm sorry to say, but you all are reading WAY, WAY too far
into these clues.
Read the clues from past years and they tell you 1, maybe 2 things.
Remember, the clue writer is making these clues from where they are standing
in the park (or clues close to the area)
Wussup Dogg?
There aren't too many tracks by parks. I used the friends of the parks website and found only a few entries, including Central's at Dunning (a no-go) and Highland's (school property in my mind). I run track and know this town's tracks. I feel the clue doesn't elude to an actual track.
Dong!
Maybee ittiz, Rusty, but we gotta stay off those golf courses, so we couldn't
"bee on the right track."
well doods i am gonna have to go look at phalen where I can also SEE the water tower/WELL(trained eye) from the S end
What fun would this site be if people didn't read too much into the clues?
well doods i am gonna have to go look at phalen where I can also SEE the water tower/WELL(trained eye) from the S end
Schlett - i don't think "track" means anything. Are you still a Phalen believer?
schlett: possibly the route of a marathon or even where it ends at the cap.?
who is Tony Schmitt? There is a park named after him
Hhhhuuummmmm.... Skiing lays or sets a "track."
The ski race at Phalen...
He invented Schmidt beer...
I think the important thing in #6 are:
"A well-trained eye is one reason why to be on the right track."
Okay thank you
well I for one am still glad your all in here and not out "tracking" up the parks making for tough digging
Tony Schmidt Park is in Arden Hills anyway, not part of this hunt.
Has anyone figured out if the marathon goes by Newell or Phalen? Also, at this instant I again feel we should trust that clue 4 eludes to actual picnic shelters and cooking areas. That would leave 8 or 9 parks. Phalen gives me average to slightly above average excitement, though it's too big to dig now.
Actually, as of today, I don't think #4 alludes to a picnic shelter at all.
Well, time for me to toddle. Gotta go bock to square one tomorrow.
Good luck and good digging, Diggers!
The Twin Cities marathon goes by neither Phalen or Newell, runs along Miss river blvd., and then on down Summit to the Capital.
bus shelter... right?
Thanks e&h's mom
Well, buenos noches amigos y amigas! Tiempo para la cama. Tengo Mucho consado!!
'Night Green.
I think I'd better head for the blankets, too. Even if I will lay there awake
for the next few hours....I need to be rested for the urchins who, when they
don't have to get dressed to be anywhere, seem to get up at the crack of dawn.
Anyway, I don't dare out-sleep them! Catch y'all tomorrow!
I feel that loot is an anagram for tool. Whoever is writing these clues is admitting he/she is a tool, their clues have no value, and that we should wait for clue 12 to spell it out for us.
Dog thats a good way to put it
See, Kiwi knows what I'm sayin'. Ya' know what I'm sayin'?
I'm back. I am extremely stumped on Clue #5...what is everyone's ideas?
yeah
I think they have one of these smart 12 year olds that go to college write these things
snow, back from where?
What was clue 5 I don't remember at this point.
I think the opposite of foul and cloudy is Fair. A reference to Fairview or the State Fair. Both in close proximity to Newell.
clue 5 was one of those makes no sense at all lets laugh at these idiots that are staying up all night trying to figure this out crap
where it says lesson and apply maybe they are referring to a school or library?
LOL Kiwi....u r on th e right track!
Or a college or University? (hehe)
Hamline?
Alison....my opinion:
Foul=Fair but cloudy is not = view. You can have a "fair" view even on a cloudy day.
hmmmm....
I guess we have to have some sort of sense of humor to keep doing this every night and day. We are using our mind way to much to not laugh about it. It's something I don't use every day anyways.lol
One part I don't understand is the Hunter and Attack theory they are using
The opposite of cloudy is also fair. Fair is the word, from which we derive Fairview.
Birdie hamline is just down the road from newell
I just hit that point where I have realized I'm still awake and I relly shouldn't be, so off to bed. Can go to 24 hour mode starting tomorrow.
Could foul be the Ramsey County Compost site on Pierce Butler?
I need to start diggin' before I go back to school, and these clues aren't allowing me to do that. This crazy Minnesotan skipped a trip to Texas for this hunt. Be this known...When the identity of the park is finally made clear, I'll be shovelin' with the pace of an ace. I have also considered alternative solutions to movin' the snow. Plowing it, wow-ing it, sifting it, de-drifting it, churning it, burning it, boiling it, or outright foiling it are all fine options.
lol your good
What school do you go to dog?
Saint John's
Well off to bed dreaming obout colleges or a certain song. Which one is better??
how about me?
lol
DOG what do you think so far?
kiwi..go figure..just you & me???
