I have not ruled out Mounds, but the frequent references to baseball lead me
farther from it all the time. Unless Mom's really stretching it by "mounds"
being a pitcher's mound and thus the baseball reference.

werentany- i'm with you all the way- IT'S NOT AT NEWELL! But alas I don't
really have any good ideas for where it is. There are several parks that fit
three or four of the clues, but nothing seems to fit them all.

Its not at Mounds... it never will be again... too much destruction. If its
at Mounds... then someday they're gonna hide it in a cemetary... don't think so.
Don't be fooled by Mounds Park.

Well, I'm actually not convinced that "astute" is meant to mean "statue." And
I do like the FAIR_ interpretation for today's clue. And granted, Newell has
shelters, a place for cooking, and towers. That being said, all the necessary
features within Newell are scattered, no? If we are to look by the tennis
courts, we won't be anywhere near the shelters. Finally, I think that "pace" and
"chase" are important, so I think there must be a running path or similar in the
park, and I don't think Newell has one (a path as opposed to a sidewalk). I hope
this is sounding reasonable.

I don't think any single word in Clue #2, taken by itself means anything,
including ace. I believe the clue as a whole is trying to say something. If so,
the clues all point to Newell. Unmistakably. And that worries me.

The Diggin' Life Ain't No Good Life, But It's My
Life.
Werentany/Kid Minneapolis:
I remember a lot of people jumped on the Newell band wagon early last year
too with "studying the past can be quite a blast, but there's value as well in
the NEW." Therefore people picked up a shovel and headed for Newell that night.
I'm just wondering if it actually is in Newell, does that mean Mom has to avoid
using the words "new" or "well?" so as not to tip people off. Maybe she's doing
this INTENTIONALLY so we'll write off Newell early, under the pretense that "it
couldn't be that simple!!" Or maybe I just need a nap.
I'll listen to anyone's theory, after all, management is always telling me to
"think outside the box."
Sincerely, Beaten down by The Man

A few more reasons it's not at Newell: 1) as werentany said, if it was a
smallish park such as Newell, they would wait longer to give it away. 2) it just
seems TOO easy. It doesn't seem like enough creative thinking had to be done to
come up with Newell, except for maybe serve=BUTLER. I don't have any solid ideas
of where the medallion is, but my personal gut feeling is... not Newell.

I think it could be that simple, actually. If you look back at the clues and
meanings from the past, they really aren't rocket science. It just seems tricky
because there could be so many interpretations. But everyone sighs an "Oh
yeah... that TOTALLY makes sense" when you read them after it's over. I say go

In any case, I think that clue #6 will be of great help; probably a street
clue. Right now, as I see it, nothing fits all the clues. Maybe they didn't
actually hide it, but just made up random clues to keep us all running around
town wasting our time. Maybe I'm too sleep-deprived due to the hunt and

Miday may be a "park", but more importantly, it is NOT public property. Thus
the medallion is not there.
I don't see my idea on clue #2 either. What I meant is that the correct
interpretation of it has yet to be discovered, and if it were, it would either
be something in Newell if Newell is correct, or its the one that will point us
in the truly correct direction.

A couple thoughts... There are two sets of television/radio towers located in
Shoreview, which is still in Ramsey County - one is a set of two towers, and the
other is a single tower - hence, one tower or two. The towers are visible from
many parks in the Roseville/Shoreview area.
The John Rose Speedskating oval located in Roseville, just adjacent to
Central Park, which may refer to the "setting a pace" clue.

Diggin', when it looks like you've missed seeing some posts, like the numbers
have gone up too many since you started your reply, go to the top of the page
and hit "Previous Msg." That will take you back one page - 10 posts. If that's
not far enuff back, hit "PM" button again. Then you'll be able to read from
where you left off and you won't miss any postings.

read is the part in clue 4 that says read this clue carefully which in turn you
get the "WARS" Then this clue tells you that opposites attract well what about a
magnet i mean there is that Magnet Elementary school across from the park.

Im talkin about you take the letters of the first for scentences and spell
out "WARS" as in Battle Creek. And in clue for the way you get WARS is by the
clue saying read this clue carefully. And on a magnet you have a north side of
it and the south side of the magnet, each side attracting the oppsite. There is
the magnet school across the street from the park.
