Clue 4 states read this well and you might obatin a clue. This suggfests that the clue has a hidden meaning and that the obviuos shelter is unlikely.

So... How else do you get relief from the rain... playing indoors, watching TV, raincoats, drainage ditch, ??? any ideas???

The card and ACE bandage ideas are good, but it seems kind of early for the "what it's in" clue. And as I recall, the wording was " ...make you an ace," so I suppose it's also possible that the "ace" doesn't mean anything other than "make you a winner," but I have to believe it does mean something significant.

A few thoughts: 1) "placeS to gain relief from the rain" --> Places plural. 2) "will serve to help you" --> "serve" seems unnecessary; the rythm would be better if it weren't there, so it must mean something (don't have any ideas as to what, though). 3) I still say that "read this well" just might mean a plaque on a well or drinking fountain (etc). This is just the sort of word trick the the PP likes to play.

went out driving tonight , to see if anything would click. Started with mounds, not a soul in sight, no visible towers (except the radio tower) there is the pavillon but no barbeques .. Went to highland, not very many people there either and that one doesn't seem to fit. Last stop Phalen, there is a visible tower there. Also off in the distance can see two radio towers, the ones with red lights. but no one was there either...

Kiwi, that park has been severely off limits for as along as I can remember, one year all of the real statues were damaged and it has been a no no ever since. Soo have fun.

I have driven down to Harriet Island and would be suprised if it was there. Tons of construction, I am sure someone would get hurt down there if people started looking. Dangerous

It is too risky to put it in Rice. They would have to be WAY to careful about the clues. If a clue so much as gave someone a thought it might be in, around, or under a sculpture I gurantee that the sculpture would be broken, tipped over, or both.

For the record, there is an ad on the lower right corner of page 6B in today's PP for the hunt which specifies that the alternate copies are accepted. However, I believe that those copies are only accepted for the mail-in contest. I'll stick with the originals for good measure as that's what the official medallion hunt rules state.

Good evening, all hunters!!

Did some cruising. Not 100% sold on any *one* park, but time will tell. Don't hafta mention I was really goin for Phalen last year - at least til the 4th or 5th clue...so my intuition is probably off again!

Guess time will tell.

I'll be in-n-out for a bit - gotta get some dinner...

jeloba, if you're still in here, can you see the Shoreview towers from Phalen during the day, or only when they're illuminated at night?

Crazed digger year after year. My turn this year!!!

Hi y'all, the guy who's been talking about the Viking stature, It's in Capital Mall, by the parking meter lot. I was at the hunt in 89' That actually was the year I got the closest to finding it. Was on my way down there knowing it was against the fence, but the person I was driving with got in an accident. I was sooooooo close. And they didn't find it till the next morning. But I was nursing my injuries for weeks. Just made me more determined. Got that close once, I can do it again.

I'm not sure about Mounds. Feels right right now, but that can change later tonight. And I don't think it was a bum. He has a shovel and a cell phone. : )

I may have to take a trip to Phalen tomorrow afternoon, then. Although I think those towers would be more towards the northwest. If I know Phalen well enough, the meat of the park is on the west side, and the towers would only really be visible from the southern end of the lake.

Just got back from Highland and Como. Lots of snow yet to be turned over. Trust me its not worth going out until the park is known.

It says a tower or two, when we were driving you can also see the tower from Gustavus church( I think that is the church on 61 there ) but again don't know if you could see that during the day, it was also lit up tonight.
