I cancelled my subscription to The 'Press as they didn't deliver my Monday
paper. They SWORE I'd have two today - Monday's and todays - at 6:30 a.m.
Guess what? Only got today's. So, cancelled.
How am I supposed to cut out the clues if they don't deliver the paper?
So, picking paper up on way to work each day.
Doin' a little research on the coolor crew site's history. Take a look at clue 3 in 1995, when it was in Battle Creek:
'Tis no easy measure to secure the treasure But here's a clue to help you get by. To end your hunt with great pleasure, Look for water in the earth and sky. (The water clues refer to a nearby pond and two visible water towers.)
Two visible towers, eh?
Is there any chance it could be in North St Paul?
Mine will be here in about 2 hours. Always seems to deliver at 3AM. But I can't wait up that long. I have a job interview tomorrow.
No. North St. Paul is not St. Paul.
The first clue says its in St. Paul, North St. Paul is actually a different city altogether.
Is there any chance it could be in North St Paul?
Hay, Birdie!
Good luck, tomorrow Allison.
Well, after all that slogging, the botching of posting the 4th clue... Guess
I'll toddle off again.
Tomorrow's my last day to work for The Hunt.
Good luck and good noodling, All!
Is there any chance it could be in North St Paul?
If this happens again tomorrow night, I dunno how crazy I will go.
The longer they hold out with the park name, makes me think it will be in a smaller park if they hold out til this weekend again.
Is there any chance it could be in North St Paul?
Satchel, stop hitting your refresh button. Click on the blue numbers in the post instead!!
hey has the clue been released yet
Even with the North references, it could not be north st paul>?
Stone Cold, tired after only three years? You have a long journey ahead of you.
The last time it was in Highland, they more or less announced it in the fifth clue with the hint "seek elevated terrain". If they don't do something similar tomorrow or the following night, its not there. (Como was named in the 4th clue a few years back).
Exactly, if they don't name the park tomorrow night its time to narrow it down to the smaller parks
That makes sense, Allison, especially since both Como and Highland are huge.
Highland doesn't look that big when you remove the golf course, but go out there with a shovel and you'll feel overwhelmed very quickly.
Even with the North references, it could not be north st paul>?
where did the north reference come fom anyway? King Boreas was king of all four winds. According to the legend, not just the north
Satchel - clue #1 locks in the City of St. Paul
pizzadude - here's the skinny...The PP hasn't posted it yet, no one knows why. Derick Davis has a web site (www.medallionhunt.8m.com) where he has posted the clue. He posted it at 11:20....He says he had a friend pick up a paper at the PP. Some people aren't sure, they wanna see it on the PP site to believe it. *whew*
duff is right about the size park thingie. ah, i cant take not having the clue, i have to do a report, but i need the clue!!!!
You tell'em dog
Even with the North references, it could not be north st paul>?
Duff - not tired of hunting, tired of walking over it year after year.
As much as I really think they'd put it in a big park this year due to the increase in cash, I have to agree that the park should be named soon else it'll be a small one.
REPEAT MESSAGES: If you have clicked the "subscribe" button at the bottom, from then on all you have to do is click "Check Subscription" to see whatever messages you haven't read yet.
Then you won't annoy everyone with multiple posts of the same message.
It's also a handy way to pick up where you left off when you return the next day.
Last year they waited until saturday night to pinpoint the park and two years ago I think I was at Cherokee on Friday so were getting close
Part of me says I should go dig tonight. Another part says I'm crazy. I think I'll listen to the part that says I'm crazy and wait until after my birthday party tomorrow. I knew letting my family wait to have it until this week would be a pain!
the reason people pull north out of boreas is because the actual root of the word itself means north (think of aurora borealis aka northern lights).
You are crazy to think about digging now.
I can agree with that, my sister had the 459 thing figured out last year and I refused to admit that they would tell us exactly where it was like that, I am still used to the old clues, very vague as to location in the park
I feel that the only way it could be at a small park now is if we misinterpreted tonight's clue. Picnic shelters are really only in the larger parks.
That's a very good point, S-dog.
There are picnic TABLES in all the parks but not actual SHELTERS.
Newell is pretty small, and I am sure there are a few out there with them.
I'm hitting the hay. Thanks for the good noodling tonight!
the 459 bit last year was pretty unique. Several people may have thought of it, but how many house addresses have a 4,5 and 9? Those also could have been on a billboard, or anything else. Once you SAW 459 Ruth, especially after the baseball reference, only then it became abuntantly clear.
Well if it is at a larger park then we should at least get a street name on clue #5, I have to get some rest as well, big weekend coming up
the clue doesn't say picnic shelters--1985 in kellogg, the clues spoke of thunder (rain) and seeking shelter nearby--the meaning of the clue refered to the raddison hotel
"relief from the rain" and "get you cooking" suggest a picnic shelter with a grill.
Could be trees or restrooms for all that matters
Adios all, chat with you tomorrow
Allison said that the Treasure Hunter's Guide only lists Cherokee, Como, Crosby, Hidden Falls, Highland, Mounds, Newell and Phalen. We've since only been able to add Battle Creek and Harriet Island. Harriet Island is out, due to construction. I have a bad feeling about HIdden and Crosby, due to limited viewing capabilities of towers to the North, because of the steep embankment.
Cooking could be many things. Even Rice.
could mean any type of shelter--i thought of picnics and grils too.
<-----is waiting for post # 2G
still waiting
only 20 more c'mon cannot take them all up on my own
<----Waiting for Clue #4 to be confirmed on PP web site
<--------still waiting
Somebody at the PP is pissed about the site being the last to get the clue
HELL YEAH Stone Cold
Can i get a Hell YEAH
What works for me is to NOT read too much into each clue.
There is usually one good idea in each clue, with other allusions that make sense only after the hunt.
<---I think your right
Yes, we could get relief from the rain in the park bathrooms, but then how will we find relief from the horrid stench?
I agree that it may serve us well to explore other meanings to this clue, besides picnic shelters. After all, the clue begs of us that we read it well.
Hell yeah. And that's the bottom line............
There ya go
<-----tosses beer to stone cold
If you smell what the Rock is cooking JABRONI
oh no got u started
does anyone have the clue, and if so can they post it?
Y2G organizes fight for Stone Cold agains The Rock
Birdie - I would've thought you to be more in line with the New Age Outlaws, with your desc line and all....
Damn all that, Rikishi!
NAO are ok, but Rock is my guy. I just love the NAO's sayings. And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya
POST 2G
Yeah, I'm really liking Rakishi. If only he'd lose those 2 Cool losers. Especially the way Lawler talks about Grandmaster all the time
Still cannot watch that stuff man
Hey Birdie, does COllo have a computer ???
U know that that is Lawlers son right?
Y not Y2G? Its just a humorous as anything else on TV.
man I dunno, you'd think so
Yep, that's why he talks about him. You know who lawlers girlfriend is, don't you?
Just not for me Stone Cold, Birdie has been trying to get to watch it once and says i will be hooked
that's all it took for me to get hooked.
hey Stone cold, birdie am out for the night got a little assignment to type up
Kat
does anyone know what is wrong with the paper?
Nope, we ahve been wondering since 12:00
Well, if we can't find the medallion, at least we can talk WWF. But anyways, folks, there's a chance I might actually have to work tommorrow, and there's not much of a chance in hell that I'll be digging in the next 22 hours, so I'm gonna hit the sack.
If Derick's clue is wrong (which I doubt), I suggest he change his name on the cooler.......
Hasta tommorrow
The PP site is updated!!!!!!!
And Dericks clue is correct!
ok, good
could we read a well? what does the read this well mean? rwsa?
swra
hey all what do you obtain from a well? water. could be something?
maybe #5 will help
I am new and this is my first posting.
I use the name hunted2 in the medallion hunt chat room.
some will read a places serve this clue to to well that gain help and really relief you and get from as just you the youre might cooking rain looking obtain. (reading the words downwards, would make more sense if drunk)
either yesturday's todays or number 5 gives us what its in, witch is the waisted clue?
Anyone wanna help me list all the possible parks so I can look up their maps and info??? here's what i have so far (not taking any of the clues into account) 1.. como 2.. cherokee 3.. battle creek 4.. hidden falls 5.. highland 6.. newell 7.. phalen 8.. harriet 9.. conway Any more would be greatly appreciated... I'll post my ideas on the clues soon
well no hunting for me this year, so i will try to help out here. clue #4 --> first letter of each line --> SWRA --> WARS --> Battles --> Battle Creek I got this because the clue obviously tells you there is something hidden within the clue, and my guess is its the first letter anagram thingy! Good Luck All. Dave
if you want parks that are possible you might want to take phalen off your list. linwood park is a possiblity, but i personally would not hide a treasure their
they did the first letter thing last time with battle, seems weird to do it again, and only on 4, it was found on #6 the day they did that back in 95
Here's my ideas on the clues without naming parks... I think thats what kills people is getting a park in mind and MAKING all the clues fit it... FIRST figure out the clues and then find the park that fits... It's been said before but I had to say it again...
#1 Obviously just a St. Paul park and STAY OFF the golf courses... (although Vikings depression could = Swede Hollow) Oops there I go naming parks already...
#2 Set your own pace... could make you an ace (winner)... into the chase... My feeling is either a Marathon (the St. Paul Marathon) or walking/jogging paths (although those aren't races) if Marathon then we need to figure out the Start/Finish of it and possibly the entire route
#3 I dont think 'tower or two' means TWO TOWERS... i think it means ONE tower and the number TWO, all in view to the North of the park/ hiding spot/ area (North from the King Boreas reference. or towards St. Paul if it's referring to that) i think they split 'tower or two' with "or" because they are far enough apart to not be grouped but also both can narrow the searching field...
#4 I feel like there's something hidden in this one, clueless to it as of now... SWRA came up (South West Regional Area)... other than that I see what everyone else does... Grilling facilities and Picnic SHELTERS
Just one Cats take on these... tear em up or build em up... just do it so it helps everyone else out... Digging sucks... especially 10 miles from the right park...
Thanks Winger... how about Swede Hollow??? That first clue could be the giveaway... who woulda thunk Vikings depression would name the park when nearly every hardcore minnesotan is experiencing it?
Who's the idiot in charge of updating the Medallion Hunt Website?
For clue No. 5 Click here? I think we're on No. 4 now, right?
In the previous clues section there are only two clues listed and there should be three.
It's nice to see that the PP is on top of things. :/
King Boreas is appearing at Como this year right? I doubt that it's Swede Hollow cause the nieghborhood is too scary for the tame types that probably planted the Medallion. Parking is bad and the chances of someones car getting broke into there is good.
At Como there is a golf course, snow towers, picnic shelters and cooking facilities.
Steve Worthman, the guy that wrote "St. Paul Parks" (I've
an autographed copy!) is going to be on The 9 in just a few minutes!
I *think*... Maybee not tho... Bummer!
Techno difficulties fixed... The Nine's about to have Steve on!! They're
discussing the Hunt and today's clue.
It was kind'a cute. Steve did a good job... If he knows what park, he's not
telling!
just seen steve worthman on the 9 cool he was at highland then como
I'm disappointed I didn't get to see Steve. I talked to him on the phone and gave him the good news that the prize money was back again at $10,000. He's a nice guy and I sure do appreciate my signed copy of his book as well.
I just discussed the clues with a fellow co-worker. The thought from him was it's either at Highland or Newell. At Newell, you'd have to be facing St. Paul, so the State Fairgrounds would be at your back and you wouldn't be able to see the towers. His reason why Newell is that the first clue said change your obsession (from football) to baseball (Saints). However, no golf course but Como. I'm not sure how close the Como golf course is - probably not close I didn't see it when I was at Newell last year looking. Now, Highland has shelters, kitchen, different types of golf, etc. and TOWERS. The better feeling of the two is Highland; however, I'm not ruling out any park quite yet.
Hello fellow Medallion Freaks! Don't they (the news) always go to Como or Highland to do the reports on the hunt? It always throws me. So, I was out at the rapscallion named Phalen's park last night to check out the several radio towers in northern view and I found that the park was closed. Is night hunting discouraged or do people go anyway? Also, I was wondering if anyone knows the least amount of clues the Med has been found in? Just wondering.
The least amount of clues is 0. It was found by accident before the hunt started by two love birds. It was taped to the underside of a bench.
Lillian, if you go to the coolercrew website, they have a list of hiding places/clues for many, many years. Check it out. You'll get a lot of useful information there.

Okay, posting is taking forever again. I'll have to check back later. Happy noodling.
Thanks Treasure Digger! I'll be back.
Hey Treasure Digger, what is the year that those two lovebird stumbled uppon the treasure? Did they turn the medallion in right away? Was there even a hunt?
So it's probably out there. Somewhere I had heard that it wasn't even hidden until after the first few clues came out. I really hope that isn't true. Does anyone know- can you see towers from the Hidden Falls picnic Area? Airport nearby too. May have to scope that area this afternoon. Any thoughts?
From any of the past history that I have found, the medallion was found the earliest after 5 clues. That was only 2 1/2 days into the hunt when there were two clues each day.
I believe you can see the Ford Plant stack and the VA stack from areas of Hidden Falls.

SAVE THE NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS!!! Just a friendly reminder that the rules are a little different this year. The medallion is worth $2,500 - the original PP clue clippings (turned in with the medallion) are worth $2,500 - and the registered winter carnival button is worth an extra $5,000. Registration postcards must be postmarked by tomorrow, so don't miss out on the extra $$$$ - make sure you take the extra steps!

Sorry my messages are posting 50 million times. I am actually not an idiot, but....
So I was just doing some research on Indian Burial Grounds. First of all, would they put it there?? Isn't that kind of disrespectful? Secondle, if they did, this is what I got: Tennis courts-ace, Metro Airport Commission Beacon Tower, Holman Field Airport-ace. It's definitely got the tower and ace thing going. Not sure if there are picnic grounds though. Ideas?
Anybody out there??
Hello?
hello any ideas
lillian, I heard form someone that one year on a radio show a guy who lived by Highland park come home from work one day in September and said there was a man walking around in the park and he was hanging around a certain tree. As it turns out that year the medallion was found there. So it looks like they hide it sooner than we think.
how about the medallion taped to a minnesota wild puck wrapped in a ace bandage
Anybody out there??
how about the medallion taped to a minnesota wild puck wrapped in a ace bandage
I noodled that about 800 clues ago moneyman
Shoveler
Where do you think it is at this point?
how about the medallion taped to a minnesota wild puck wrapped in a ace bandage
Anybody out there??
Well we know it is in or near a picnic shelter with a bar-b in it.
Or packed in a frozen meat pattie. Mmmm.... gets us cooking!
lillian, but what about gain relief from the rain?
To keep from stuttering and constantly repeating yourself... Don't hit the
"Refresh" button when you're reading the posted clues. Go to the bottom of
whatever page you're on, and at the last message on the page note the numbers
after whomever's name: "(#XXXXX of XXXXX)".
Click on the BLUE NUMBER!
That will "refresh" your page in such a way that that will be
the first clue on your new page, with any subsequent new messages
following.
Hiya Green!! How the heck are ya?
Anyone going to the PP lobby to try and win free tickets?
My first instinct is that the med
is in a BIG park this year with the award again at $10K.
But last year they surprised us with Conway. I'm not sure that they won't do
something similar again. So far, most all of the larger parks have at least a
couple of things going for them. Tonight's clue (hopefully) should have it
narrowed down to only a few.
And I hope for my sanity the %$#%^$# clue actually gets posted on the WC
ON TIME!!
Oh yeah - That's tonight. Hmmm. Could actually get the clue before midnight *AND* maybe win a trip at the same time!
No, that is tomarrow night. Thurs 11:30 PM to Fri 12:30 AM
Is the trip thing tonight? What about the concept of the medallion being hidden in the actual BBQ pit.
Or packed in a frozen meat pattie. Mmmm.... gets us cooking!
I swear, it said "Wednesday" last night (or more accurately, early this morning) when I was hitting the "reload" button furiously waiting for clue 4 to be posted.
has anyone noticed that the clue says, "some placES to gain relief?" Most of the parks have one pavillion. They're talking plural. Besides, i think a pavillion is too easy....think
BAck At It Again,
Don't forget the year it was at Harriett (sp?) island!
I thought the trip thing was at midnight on the 31st (monday)? am I misinformed? Also, I've been thinking about the "relief from the rain" as well and wonder if it refers to the flood plains at Hidden Falls or a storm drain at another park. Several have them. thoughts, anyone?
Hay Mom & Jett!
Mom, hit "STB" for a message I left there for you and Dad.
Mom, I'm w/you. I could *swear* I saw tonite, too - someplace - but just
today I read ittiz Thursday nite... Beats me. I'm totally clueless and in the
dark! :)
There will be nightly contests at the Pioneer Press building starting at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Thursday: "Touch of the Tropics"
Come to the Pioneer Press lobby at 345 Cedar Ave. in St. Paul between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. dressed in tropics attire for a chance to win one of 25 round-trip tickets to any Sun Country domestic destination. One lucky winner will be awarded an all-inclusive trip to a SuperClubs resort in Jamaica.
how about the medallion taped to a minnesota wild puck wrapped in a ace bandage
have some thought on Harriet....It's still too early though That's a good thought, I have a few other ideas, about previous clues, that could point to that spot.
The trip thing MUST be a nightly
thing.
Green - saw your message a couple days ago. Thanks, but I don't think either
of us is into those pepper-spices enough to have that much in the house. I tend
to go for the curry-type spices...although I do enjoy good mexican/southwestern
cooking.
What's the deal on the trip thing again? I think it's kind of too bad that Pioneer Press is commercializing it with Sun Country or who ever's giving away the trip. Next thing it will be the Pepsi Medallion Hunt or something.
...not that I wouldn't partake if I won, but.... it's just the principal.
Otay, Mom. Let me know if you change your mind.
BAIA, it seems the concensus izz that Harriet's too dug up and too much going
on there - they're redoing the entire park or something - for The Med to be
hidden there.
Harriet's too dug up and too much going on there
Never say never!
Otay, Shoveler...
"I'll never say 'Never,' except to say, I'll never say 'Never' again!"
well, that COULD be, but I was hinkin something last year, after witnessing,(and taking part in),the destruction at Conway. I was thinking that maybe this year they will hide it some place that Is going to be redone or is already in the process....it's perfect, as long as there isn't actual construction going on RIGHT NOW. Anyone else know anything that's happening with Harriet?
Harriet has been closed much of the summer - at least the playground portion. It has been undergoing some major remodeling. Much of the construction equipment is still there, but I don't think anything is being done through the winter...
From http://www.pioneerplanet.com/
Show up in "tropics attire" from 11:30 p.m. Thursdayto 12:30 a.m. Friday at the Pioneer Press lobby at 345 Cedar St. for a chance to win one of 25 round-triptickets to any Sun Country domestic destination. For details on the contest, the latest Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt clues, the complete Winter Carnival schedule and maps of parade routes, visit the Winter Carnival page.
There is a nice biking path, there,
and bbqs, of course the pavillion. It was only 4 years ago that it was hidden
there.
I like the w-a-r-s anagram/Battle Creek theory, too. But I don't suspect it
would be there again so soon either. Also, it was just on the East Side last
year, not likely to be so close to last year's spot. If they *were* to do
an East side park this year, my guess would be Phalen.
really like the sweed hallow referece to the vikings depression, but because of the lack of future knowledge of the vikings defeat, i doubt that could be it, but what parks are in the sweed hallow area?
the only ones in that area, would be IT, Mounds, and the parks downtown..
as far as I can remember, I used to hang out at Swede Hollow when I was a kid, there are no grills or picnic areas. Unless they've redone it...
Don't believe there is any shelter
or grills, but there is a bike trail (set your own pace). It is too small to
even be ON most maps - the closest major park would probably be Mounds.
It seems WAY too obvious to put the name of the park in the 1st clue: Vikings
= Swede Depression = Hollow
They wouldn't do that would they?
well it mostly likly wont be downtown, it most definitly wont be at mounds, and i dont know of anything else, other than recreational parks in the area. i think the stle of thinking for the person that mentioned it though
And there IS a double arched bridge that runs over/under 7th street...you could certainly get out of the rain there.
don't know, they'd do anything at any time...that's what I'm starting to believe..hehe
Anyone know anything about Newell? Are there any police stations, pavillions, towers, airports or churches around?
BIG
OL
forgot about the bridge, perfect...but not really towers
BRONCO TREASURE FINDIN JANE HERE!
Comin to yall from GOLD DIGGIN experience! The great state of COLORADO!!!!
gotta pay your dues if you wanna find dablooms, and you know it dont come easy, you dont have to shout all you think about. (almost ringo starr)
how about the medallion taped to a minnesota wild puck wrapped in a ace bandage
Think it's time to pack up the kids and go for a little drive. Bring the clues and the Treasure Hunter's guide, and just go do some scoping. I need to get some visuals in my head, if not to match the clues so far, so tonight's will make more sense!
Back At It: Are you thinking police station because of the careful inspection line in Clue 3?
Winger--
Why not Mounds Park???
I'm with ya E&H's mom, I'm going to do the same
After a drive today I would write off Cherokee and Highland...any others to be written off and why.?!
Just to keep everyone thinking... "Read this well" anagram = A Swede Thrill "Some places to gain relief from the rain" could be a "drain" gain, rain, drain oh well
natives very very upset when people were digging on the mounds back in 87, i beleave their were even lawsuets. sacred burial ground, and archoligal place, not good for us to go their and dig up everything.
water comes from a well
I think the rise in Gas prices is a conspiracy with the PP, because they know we're all going to be driving all over town until it's found! lol
The Mounds are completely fenced off with wrought Iron Fences.
I was there an hour ago and it looks real promising from the vantage point of Earl and Mounds.
MacGrove Man, methinks I'd write off Como. Although I only drove up and down Lexington, the closest thing to two towers I could see from the road were the space needle, and what appeared to be a cone-topped water tower in the west, and a high-rise to the south-southeast. I most definitely could not see DT from my vantage points. Then again, I also really didn't get into the park so take this with a grain of salt.
It sure got quiet...
What...did everybody jump in their cas and head to Mounds on my tip...How about a little more input here.
Doesn't Battle Creek have a Sheltered Picnic area with grills...any input would be appreciated
Nope. I'm still here sitting in my office.
Working hard Ares??? Or are you daydreaming of the loot!
yes, BC had a pavillion
has ;o)
What about grills and picnic tables in the same area?
What are the thoughts on Hidden Falls? Someone said there are visible towers (Ford Plant & VA?) Definite picnic/grilling grounds, shelters, floodplains AND near the airport.... Now I thought about Burial Mounds and there's the Met Airport Commiss Beacon Tower, the Holman airfield & tennis court-"ace". Picnic areas??
yes, they have it all
Lillian--
Yes Picnic areas ... a tower or two...tennis courts...picnic shelters...grills. All at mounds park and in a logical order!
I mentioned late last night the Hidden Falls tower views. Has anyone been there to further the investigation?
However...because its logical...it probably isn't corect!
Does anyone know if Hillcrest has a picnic area?
I know it--- ugh. What is this mental torture we love so much? After I get off work (which may as well be now considering my attention span) I am off to scope Mounds and Hidden Falls. Tower assessment and complete grill ransack. We'll see. Hopefully tomorrow's clue will be park-related. What are your thoughts on the swede hollow thing?
Where is swede hollow?
live not far from the hillcrest shopping center, but where is their a hillcrest park?
Hillcrest park is next to the Highland library on Ford Parkway
Hillcrest is on Ford Parkway and Kenneth. No shelters that I can see.
L. Logan-- I don't know where Swede Hollow is, but there has been some interesting twists in the clues having to do with it. ANyone else know?
From Hilcrest- you can see Hihland water towers- but I'm not convinced on this "tower" thing
ah, ok, i was thinking hillcrest park was in the hillcrest area, silly me and that logic. thanks.
Lillian today's clue pretty much did it for me and Swede Hollow. From my knowledge of the park, there are no cooking areas to it. That and the park proper is really only the depression between Payne Ave, and what ever is to the east of the park, and between Minnehaha Ave and E 7th St. South of 7th at Payne is where the trail comes out, and there are no picnic/rain protection areas there, though there are a pair of cell towers plainly visible, as well as the brewery and a church to the NE. Of course "Vikings depression" fits "Swede Hollow" perfectly (contrary to a post last night, the Vikings were not just a Norwegian phenomenon, but they came from all of Scandinavia, including Sweden), though one must wonder what the alternate clue would have been had the Vikings beat the Rams.
I'm not sure Swede hollow has a park to speak of. No picnic shelters at Hillcrest...can you actually see the towers from there? What is the park on St. Clair and Victoria???
Lillian, I may as well be off, too. Nothing can get in this pea-sized brain
but MED HUNT! Ittiz ALL I can think of!
Hay, WW! How's my fav youthful adult????
I'll take the blame for the Vikings=Norwegian thing...it was just a thought!
Well there's St.Clair rec center Is that what your thinking of
Yes and NO...the park has a definite name
ONE HOUR and I'm HUNTING until me or sumbuddy else nets $10,000!!! I'm so
xcited, I'm about to POP!!!
And a STAIT to boot! Maybee ittiz my lucky day??? ('Hope!)
Linwood
I don't know if Linwood had picnic areas or pavillion
I think ive narrowed it down to 3: Phalen, Highland, or Hidden Falls.
Has everyone left?
L. Logan-- I don't know where Swede Hollow is, but there has been some interesting twists in the clues having to do with it. ANyone else know?
I'm back...TCBOO...why those three parks...I've written off highland after a stop through today...
For some reason Phalen keeps entering my mind. Somebody tell me if i am way off.
Alan..
What is oyur take on "look in kig boreas' direction" and then what is the tower or two???
Why Phalen
darn, i can see a ticket on my car from my window, i hate minneapolis!
im thinking highland mainly because of its tennis courts, Goling, and Picnic areas. also the "3 towers" really got me thinking. Why are you writing it off so quickly? What did or didnt you see there?

I think it could very well be Highland
Hi all....Not much to say, just popping in and enjoying
Shovelmaster what are your ideas this year?
Phalen is good- I was ou t there last night. There are radio towers to the north in view, and did you know Phalen committed the first murder in Minnesota- he then fled to the west. I think that would make him a rapscallion, don't you?
I kinda like the Mounds idea...I do believe some on here are taking the clues too literally and really should be trying to decipher them more. Not that Im the expert by any means, but I think two towers needs to be disected, as well a cooking, etc. They like to try and make us work at the clues... How about you?

The tennis courts are essentially on school property...though it is public I don't think they would run the risk of mixing the hunters with the school aged kids. Wouldn't be PC.
Outdoor phy-ed classes go on through the winter plus kids park on Snelling = a bad mix.
A tower or two...there are three.
From the main park, especially near the picnic shelters you cannot see the towers at all.
And you are not necessarily looking in Boreas' direction!
I live in the area and scoped it out today. Not very likely.
What do you like about Hidden Falls?
Lillian, I *think* before he left town, Phalen served five or eight months
for the murder at, I believe, Fort Snelling. Then he disappeared and his cabin
was moved into and his claim jumped.
Gotta run folks, lunch break is over. See ya later in the eve. Good hunting to all! Maybe I'll even take a nap after work...whew, looking forward to it.
Interesting thought, Lillian. If the cluewriters were thinking this, then the "Don't be a rapscallion" could mean don't go west, which would cross off Highland and Como (or any other park in the western part of the city).
Don't go west is a BIG strtch don't you think. It's a meaning behind a meaning behind a meaning...too deep...
Yeah- a bit too literally!! I'm not sure what to think right now and I'm sure know that I'm not an expert seeing that I hunt every year and still have never found the thing. Do you think that it may not be hidden on the ground?- just a thought
That's interesting-- I end up learning more about St. Paul during the Hunt than I ever did in my 6th grade Minnesota History classes!
