Joy is a small street that comes off of Water street, near the two sets of tracks, and then returns. Edit MessageDelete Message

Thanks for pointing that out Ryan. They would intersect on the other side of the river around West 7th Street. However Cherokee Ave. and Baker St. both end at a corner on the park. Edit MessageDelete Message

ryan quinn - 12:46am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1753 of 8457)

think that intersection of the 2 streets is a good idea, ill go over there tomorrow if it hasnt been found yet, and check it out......

could someone give me directions to cherokee, im coming from hwy 36 Edit MessageDelete Message

Josh J. Zenner - 12:46am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1754 of 8457)

baker street is on the map intersecting Cherokee ave. Why would they show it on the map if it wasn't part of the park? Edit MessageDelete Message

violator - 12:46am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1755 of 8457)

still dont think we have all the clues to pin it down. what is the popular opinion, just talked via cell phone to a buddy, he says there is 400 people still at mounds. Also said some people drove up to him and said they had the med and they where very serious but i'm not to sure Edit MessageDelete Message

jodespre - 12:46am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1756 of 8457)

My only guess at this point is that double division at Mounds could mean where the roads divide down by the KickOff Bar...but, it's far fetched...maybe there's a historical division meaning??? Edit MessageDelete Message

Shawnster Johnster - 12:46am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1757 of 8457)

about 10% of people are still holding out for Mounds. Let it go.... it's not about making an emotional attachment to a park. OR maybe it is, I don't know... whatever the case, think what you want, but I have yet to see "double division" in Mounds. Did anybody here besides me walk between the two "dome" mounds by the wrought iron fence? That was my guess at it. Edit MessageDelete Message

mother dole - 12:47am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1758 of 8457)

is my map wrng or don't the rest of you see that at the int of annapolis and chippewa, the sw pt. of cherokee pk. is the border of st. paul/west st. paul and ALSO west st. paul and mendota heights. that's double division! unless the answer is really 5, then this is all moot Edit MessageDelete Message

Alex Moy - 12:47am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1759 of 8457)

Shawnster: I didn't even remember about the pleasure clue, but that makes my spot all the better. I wish I were back there to help dig. Edit MessageDelete Message

pleasure=joy joystreet is located near cherokee park BINGO! Edit MessageDelete Message

Shawnster Johnster - 12:52am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1767 of 8457)

Summary so far for cherokee fans: 1) Try north shore of Pickeral Lake between the Tracks. (next to double division line) 2) Try Joy street off of Water street just north of that. (pleasure clue: a little obscure imho) 3) Try Cherokee Blvd and Baker street (dough) Edit MessageDelete Message

Mother - Where did the number 5 come from? I think you might have something there with those two intersections. But I just noticed that the division between the three is at the corner of Delaware and Annapolis thus taking it away from the park. Didn't get the e-mail S&P Edit MessageDelete Message

Ryan: hwy 36 to 35E south to Wacouta Exit. Go straight, then turn right on 7th street (you will be downtown) Turn left on Smith. Go across river on bridge. On other side, immediate right onto cherokee avenue. Edit MessageDelete Message

selma and patty - 12:56am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1774 of 8457)

Annapolis is at the edge of Cherokee Park one side of the street is St.Paul which is Ramsey Co. and the other side of the street is W. St. Paul which is Dakota Co. That's the double division. Edit MessageDelete Message

Thanks for noticing that there is no 'Dome' park Ryan, I thought that you were yanking our chains, that's why I made the sarcastic comments earlier about Rosebud park and all. Edit MessageDelete Message

Shawnster Johnster - 01:03am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1790 of 8457)

I like it how people pick their childhood parks regardless of the clues. "Well, there's standing water there when it rains..." ;) Well, there are no domes there, but there is a sliding hill with two sides on it! Edit MessageDelete Message

does anyone think that last night's clue (the word plume) is related to plum street near mounds? you can line the street up with the big smoke stack!!! i still feel mounds but i am not there because i think it is still too vague Edit MessageDelete Message

ryan quinn - 01:07am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1796 of 8457)

doubt its at como again...wasnt it there last year? Edit MessageDelete Message

Shawnster Johnster - 01:07am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1797 of 8457)

ryan: moco and loco are no clues. just trying to tell mother her clues are a stretch. Very creative though. Hard to see how someone with such creativity could also understand the quadratic equation. Must think with both halves of the brain...wait, two halves, TWO DOMES! MOTHER MOCO IS THE MEDALLION!!!! Edit MessageDelete Message

jodespre - 01:07am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1798 of 8457)

If we could relate double division to Mounds we may have something...sorry Cherokee fans...Mounds still has potential! Edit MessageDelete Message

The Clue Master - 01:07am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1799 of 8457)

Funny one Mother in #1781. Both Clockwork and Rosebud were excellent movies. Both are better under some sort of influnce though. And, by golly, so is the hunt. Any ideas on what it's hidden in? Edit MessageDelete Message

ryan quinn - 01:07am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1800 of 8457)

plume can mean smoke(from a smoke stack) or an indian feather Edit MessageDelete Message

Clue Master... IN 1695 to me you mentioned double meaning... Have you noticed yet the ENTIRE bunch of clues (well, maybe *not* ENTIRE... LOL!!) it's all doubled? First Bank twice, twice for Cherokee, two domes, double division... Bet it's in a Bandaid box, alrite!!!

Any other doubles I'm missing????? Edit MessageDelete Message

jodespre - 01:09am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1804 of 8457)

Also, division could refer to bike paths, or any other thing that can divide two areas... Edit MessageDelete Message

foolsbee - 01:10am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1805 of 8457)

JW what is your reasoning for giving up on mounds? it's still early, tomorrow should definitely give us the park w/o doubts Edit MessageDelete Message

ryan quinn - 01:10am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1806 of 8457)

you know how we got dome from demo and mode. well its a stretch but if you take lode, you can make it into DOLE, as in the pinapple. maybe its in a dole pinapple can? Edit MessageDelete Message

greenslvs2 - 01:15am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1814 of 8457)

Clue Master:

Yea!!! Hockey team back! Plus... If you add 112 it equals four, DIVIDED BY *2* = 2!!!! Cherokee it is, and it will prolly be found in something double as well!

Allie Go - 01:58am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1840 of 8457)

I see nothing at Mounds that could be double division and I've only been to Mounds...but I'm exhausted and can't put much effort into deciphering tonight...I do feel strongly about the borders though at Cherokee. I think I'll check it over tomorrow. But my advice is to not wear yourselves out...be rested for when the name of the park comes out...hopefully on Sat. or Sun. Good night all. greenslvs2 - 02:01am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1843 of 8457)

of the clues this year are all "double". You're in the rite spot. And the reasoning for #2 is "double", plus if you add 112 (this year's Hunt) and then DIVIDE ("double" "divison" - plus there are two divisions in the park... I can't explain xactly - try reading up... Sorry!) BY TWO, YOU GET TWO. Edit MessageDelete Message

green---you can also see the nsp thing-a-ma-jig from mounds, from plum street!! Edit MessageDelete Message

Pat Pfundstein - 02:07am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1848 of 8457)

Foolsbee forget Mounds. I was just at Cherokee. If you go to the intersection of Annapolis (a city street) and Cherokee you will see a sign that says Mendota Heights/Lilydale. It is the double dividing border line. If you Mounds people want to continue wasting your time then please continue; you will thin out the contenders for the prize (prize; what does he mean by that? There was a prize once awarded at Mounds. It must be there!!!) Edit MessageDelete Message

green--if you think everything is double then maybe it's at como. never has it been back-to-back, that would be tricky. and last night's clue "you'll soon be back"....just thoughts Edit MessageDelete Message

greenslvs2 - 02:14am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1857 of 8457)

I'm still here - haven't convinced hubby to get up yet....double division thought (have patience, I can be a little slow) Annapolis is division between St. Paul and Mendota Heights/West St. Paul AND Ramsey and Dakota counties. Edit MessageDelete Message

greenslvs2 - 02:21am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1860 of 8457)

You're correct, but I've been sitting here, seeing you see exactly the majority of notes I've been posting for the last 2.5 hours. Had you been reading them, you would have seen my reasoning even for "you'll soon be back"... even in it's double form.

But, whatever. *All* of us are entitled to our opinions and thoughts. Just please do *not* ask me to repeat those of mine that I have voiced while you have been on. Edit MessageDelete Message

I don'wanna dig alone (female), so I've nobody to dig with, so... it's like i'm getting vicarious pleasure directing others... but TRUST ME!!! Next year will be different!!!

Reading last year's clues... Clue number #2... "You're cure for displeasure..."

While it was not mentioned in what Greg Sax said in his reasoning for #2, last year... but "cure" is the beginning of Curad - the box the Med was found in last year.

This year - double. Last year #2, "Cure"... This year - double. This year "aid." Curad-Bandaid.

Now, at this late hour, maybe I'm going too deep. However, it feels more like being rite on top of somehting... and feels so good. Shheshh!!! I wanna dig!!!! Edit MessageDelete Message

Really, at this hour, I'm stetching the 'double' bit. But, still. Once it became clear all the doubles, it was like a sledge hammer and I'm trying to double up on everything. All of which is not pertinent, I'm sure. Reading too much and all that. But...

And I've still not had an answer from Cheryl (who's now out digging!) about if there's any 'twin' (doubles) things in the park.

Green, there's a faster way to get to any post #:

If you're not at the most recent post, you'll notice a number at the far right of your current URL; e.g. -- my Netscape browser says "Go to:" and then gives the URL:

htt://www.pioneerplanet.com/......../1899

That indicates note #1899 is the one at top of your screen; so you change the 1899 to whatever post you want to go to and press "enter" key -- and it takes you to posts starting with the # you substituted for the 1899. Edit MessageDelete Message

Do you guys think that whoever hid the medallion could have anticipated all of the branch cutting that they recently did in Cherokee? With those city vehicles driving in the park and all the work they were doing, maybe they decided to hide the medallion away from where it could be disturbed. We should consider this when we search Cherokee. Edit MessageDelete Message

Green,

I've sent you a couple E-Mails over the last hour; most recent one a couple minutes ago about "Registration could pay" -- don't forget to read your E-Mail. -------------------------- If you're on AOL Internet browser, I'm not familiar with it; but I can tell you: Every page (i.e., roughly a screen; or scrolling screen) you view on Internet as a URL (like a page address) associated with it; and you should be able to cut (using cut-and-paste) your current URL using some command on your screen, modify it as I described (by changing the right-most # in the URL) and then re-paste it to whatever AOL uses to allow users to transfer to specific pages (that should be some sort of "go to" command) on the Internet. It's hard to think of creative hiding spots at Cherokee. Playground equipment, trees, etc. have been searched. I assume we should avoid dangerous situations, like searching over the edge of the ravine. We're left digging under a foot of snow. Something doesn't seem right, yet it has to be there. Is it possible that not only is there the division st theory but that you might be able to see the dakota county line? Another type of division? Edit MessageDelete Message

gustav - 08:56am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1965 of 8457)

do not know, lots of banks near Highland - who cares
could mean that the coin is in a cookie? or bread wrapper
really no idea - just having fun guessing

Montreal divides Highland Park in Half
Unknown the Police Division over there
don't know
if you look and past years' clues and their answers
seems like people are reading too much into the clues
usually only tells you one thing

gustav - 09:03am Jan 31, 1998 CST (#1973 of 8457)

there really isn't a Firestation right next to the park, like a police station, but look anywhere you want.
Hey keep using those metal detectors
I doubt it will help, but then you will be out of the real hunters way!
