Am I ever disgusted! I should've taken the day off from work, after all. I was digging late (early) into the night and again this morning until work called. I hope they aren't lying about searching for it for all those years -- it makes the wound hurt a little less (Kind of like a band-aid, I guess!) This is probably my last hunt; I'm relocating in a couple of weeks to a warmer locale for flight attendant training. Next year, I hope I'll at least have access to the Water Cooler! I'm already suffering serious withdrawal:( I hope to be at the picnic Sunday - would be nice to see you all! I'd also like to reconnect with those I met in line during the past few nights, like "Kevin Costner" and the "Butt Man", but , alas, it's not to be. Best of Luck to one and all next year!:) ![]()

Psst. Pass it on.
Clue explanations will go up as soon as we can get the mysterious clue writer to provide them. Since I have NO idea who that is, all I can say is that they'll be posted soon.
Check back tonight at about 8 p.m. We should have them by then. Plus a profile of the winners.
Thanks all for playing.

I didn't get much in terms of insight and new ideas from the Cooler, but I did have some great conversation! :) All my developing was from me, and talking to others on site at CP. I WAS ABOUT NOT EVEN 5 FEET AWAY FROM THEM WHEN THEY FOUND IT. PLUS I THINK THEY JUST PUT THE MEDALLION THERE BECAUSE WHY WERE THE CHANNEL 5 NEWS CREW EXACTLY THERE RIGHT ON TIME RIGHT WHEN THEY FOUND IT? COINCIDENCE? I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. I SPENT AT LEAST 100 HOURS AT CHEROKEE LOOKING FOR THAT DAMN THING. I LOOKED WHERE THEY FOUND IT 3 NIGHTS AGO AND I DID NOT SEE THE CRACK THERE ON THAT TREE. I THINK IT IS SETUP. WHAT DO ALL OF U THINK ABOUT THE NEWS CREW BEING THERE? ![]()

Ok, to reiterate: PP Cooler Crew Re-Hash party Sunday, February 8. Cherokee Park. Starts 11:30am (thanks Greenslvs for making it when I can get there!!) Bring what you want to eat. There are grills and at least two Coleman stoves to share. Wear something white that's out of the ordinary for winter (bandana, tube sock on your arm etc...)AND if you will, a nametag of some sort with your "handle" on it so we know who's who. Actually, I can bring sticky name tags and a marker. It's going to be a great time!!!
Thanks to everybody for making this so much fun. I'll definately be back next year. ![]()

on the hunt
I'll try and make it on Sunday...but I have plans that I normally do on Saturday nights that keep me out till at least 4:30am. But if it is going on for awhile, I'll try and make it out later... Bummer that it wasn't cooler crew that found it and bummer that the people who did find it, read posts here and didn't contribute, admitedly. But no sour grapes I guess, congrats... Now I have to find out what to do with my time...I too was looking forward to going out tonight....Oh well. I will be out with the shovel next year. The only kind of shoveling left for this year is the kind that nobody wants to do. Think what we could do if the manpower that was put into that medallion were transferred to other things. We could power St.Paul for a year on that kind of juice... Ill be bopping in and out of here for a couple days yet I suppose, but for those who wont...nice working with you and we'll see you Sunday and/or next year.

I was out 'til midnight last night and up and at it again from 5:00 to 7:00. Then I went to work and programmed the phone number for the medallion update into my phone. I hit speakerphone and redial so much that when I finally got the message that the medallion had been found everyone who works around me groaned and moaned too! Most of them didn't even know about the hunt until I started giving them daily updates! ![]()

I'm sure you've read about the First Annual PPMCC Re-Hash Bash that's being held this Sunday, February 8 at CP, beginning at 11:30 a.m. I'm hoping you can make it, even tho you just drove home last weekend. It just wouldn't be the same w/o you - you were a major part of The Cooler. Please try and come. Please try REAL hard. Thanks. ![]()

Re: The Bash - bring all your own stuff... I'm trying to figure out how we can have/make coffee for everyone, but not able to think of a way. Guess I've gone brain-dead from those damn clues!!!
If you wish to bring xtra of something or a dish/salad/or something to share - that is up to you. Somebody's bringing xtra stakes, I think Matt. I'm thinking about brining a salad of some kind to share in addition to what I bring for myself.
We'll have the grills at CP, plus me and Cheryl are bringing our Coleman stoves in case they're needed.
If you've any ideas, let's hear them!!! ![]()

The whole thing has been truly amazing to me. Sorry to all who missed it this year, esp. those who obviously had more emotionally invested in it than I did. Wear mittens and boots, go freeze off yer ass.
The crowds have all gone from Cherokee Park.
You'll be by yourself, all alone in the dark.
For big money prizes, aren't what you'll look fo.
The treasure you seek 's a pink flamingo.

St. Paul, MN
Only once a year am I saddened the way that I have been today. The sad, terribly, and tragic news was given to me not long after the lost treasure was found. I look over to where the wonderful and sacred hiding place of the mysterious medallian was placed and think back to a few minutes ago as I was leaning against that very tree, tying the laces on my snow boots and then running from the treasured medallion that I, and so many others, longed to find, just to catch up with the rest of my group as we continued our journey to find this wonderful prize. But no, my hopes and dreams were shattered when I recieved the heartbreaking news that THE DAMN THING WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FRICKIN' NOSE!!! ![]()

All PPMCC Members... I've just had my heart touched by an angel...
You know that we HAD to have caused the PP a bunch a probs with our enjoyment and fun of this particular Cooler, what with clogging up the server constantly, etc... And you KNOW what a dear Casey was to us - always honest, rite there when we needed him, always cheerful, willing to help and soothe our feathers when we got riled by something/someone...
So, I privately invited him to The First Annual PPMCC Re-Hash Bash. Well, like, if he's not a member with all he's done/did for us... Then none of us are members!!!
This is what Casey replied:
"greenslvs2,
Thanks for the invite. I'm sure my ability to attend will depend entirely on my ability to recover from my Saturday night poker game.
Anyway, the massive participation in the Water Cooler has been quite the buzz around the PP. And if I can't come, please extend my thanks to the PPWCC for a fun and lively discussion board.
Cheers,
Casey Trauer
Planet night editor"
Nice guy, Casey. Let's all hope he makes it Sunday!!!!
Thought my fellow members would be proud - wanted to forward it on to you.

BUMMER!!!, Ian. Work on that list for moi, will you???
Hay all! I know I was kind'a obtuse about the clues, but here's an idea....
All this DOESN'T have to end!!! NOPE, NADA, ZIPPO!!! Don't gotta end!!! We can keep going!!! Why? Because there's other WC topics!!! Yup!!!
Not like we're gonna all want to go to the same ones at the same time or even to the xtent we did our dear Med one... But... we can meet and talk and LEARN and CHALLENGE EACH OTHER and SHARE OPINIONS and DISCUSS and TALK.... Because the Med maybe gone, but The COOLER lives on!!!!
The PP is always having a WC about ANYTHING!!!! Like when Dave Moore passed away... I even thought of going in there, but... well... didn't understand about the WC's and all that..
But now I DO!!!! Now, I'll feel more like going into the other ones and meeting people and sharing ideas... and in some of them we may run across each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COOL!!!! IT DOESN'T HAVE TO END!!! Neat! ![]()

Brad B- You found out like I did. In the cooler. It really sucks, was all ready (shovel in hand) to head out in a.m. Irony of it all is that my son told me to go dig where the damn thing was found and I went to dig by the BFR (big friggin rock) at CP on Saturday. Lesson: Kids see what we read too much into. ![]()

Can you bring water? I'm brining the plop in the water coffe and filter all in one things. Somebody... BW??? Is bringing big coffee makers. I should be writing this stuff down!!! Oh, well!!!
Casey, don't cut us off until Sunday!!! My printer is not working and I need to be able to know who's bring what!!! THANKS!!

Greenslvs2 - Better check the electric. Some of these parks turn off the power when not in use. The people at the city park permit office should know. If you live close, you could just run over and plug something in to see if it works. ![]()

Ian, you're a true Cooler Head - sick, sick, sick!!! Got your e-mail!!! So, I'm not the only one that is seeing things like "rosebud" "double" "division" "fore", etc, etc, everywhere they turn. At work, I'm trying to figure out the meaning in everything people say to me!!!! "Oh!!! Geee!!! Is that an anagram for such-and-such? What did he/she mean??? Is that some kind'a clue??" ![]()

Don't live close by. But... was it Dan? Said that somebody was brewing coffee there just the other nite. Assumed - know what that means... - the electric is going. Three different kinds of dog poop!! How do I go about finding out if we need a permit??? Glad you mentioned it, Terry. ![]()

Things I'd like to know about others. What part of the city they live in. Length of time hunting. How they got started hunting. Have they ever been close (on top of, all around or in the hand). If not St. Paulites, where from. Do they have any other obsessions. ![]()

Shouldn't need a permit. Permits are for shelters during the REGULAR picnic season. More like a reservation. But the people in that office should know if electric is available. Probably someone else could run over - maybe easier in the long run. ![]()
