Does anyone really think it will be found this year? The park is so big, the clues so vague, and the whole place has been absolutely oblitterated! If it's there, I can't imagine where it is. ![]()

When the clue about the cape and the whip came out, I thought it meant that it was in a bandana inside a Cool Whip container. ("Really hip", translating into, "Cool) ![]()

I used to live in Winona. There is a big hill, scenic overlook, park named Sugar Loaf. Kind of a local landmark in Winona. Too obscure? That's my only thought, for whatever that's worth. ![]()

Does anyone out there know when all the trees in the park were trimmed? Looks like quite recently. Wondering if medallian placed before all the trucks packed down the snow; it's impossible to dig under those big tire tracks isn't it. ![]()

I think we have to assume that the editor at PP is doing his job. Surgary Loaf is the tip of a mountain in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.
Has anyone tried an anagram for words in this clue? Yellow stone if you change stone to notes you get yellow notes ( post it notes) or POST.The tip of a post or a post on the tip of the sledding hill somewhere. I think anagrams still hold the key.We know it's in CP they have to be narrowing it down to a certain part of the park by now (just a thought) ![]()

Still Looking: the trees in the park were trimmed as recent as the first week in january. The branches were left in heaps along the boulevard and throughout the oaks on the south end for about 2 to 3 weeks. Then all of a sudden, about a week or less before the Carnival began, big trucks came out and picked them up. They drove all through the park, (I'm sure in the beggining everyone saw the big tread marks they left behind.) ![]()

If a cape and a whip is used by a Ringmaster and you take the anagram of tip (pit),ring and pit might be the fire pit ring and if you stand in the middle of the fire pit and look north you can see a small opening in the trees (a perfect circular opening in the trees) where you can see the tip of smoke stack and the plume (large object to guide) but if you walk out of the pit smoke stack is no longer in view.(just another thought) ![]()

Holly Wood, here's what Deb posted about the location of the foundation yesterday: ok- on cherokee the west side ( toward the river ) right by the cliffs- there is a foundation of a building-- it is on a little lookout right straight between the bathrooms and the "other" smoke stack. I (SueBee) was at the bonfire around 9:00 or so. Drove along Cherokee Hts. from George to Annapolis looking for the crew. C'est la vie. Maybe Sunday morning depending on the time. I'm in a choir and am busy between 9 and 11am. ![]()

I was at CP from 7:30 to 9:30 am today. Only about 15 people ther in the beginning and maybe 150 people a 9:30. There's still a lot of unturned snow, but most of it is only 4-5 inches deep and thouroughly packed down. Tough digging. Are we even positive that it"s in the snow? I finally got my computer to let me in...I have been with you guys all week and have been trying to post a note..
Here's my two cents....First, I think we are all reading too much in to the clues...I have been looking for years and every year I tell myself not to get so nit picky with the clues. Think broad with the clues. If you read the answers to the past years' clues, you find that each clue usually has a broad theme. I do think however, that clue # 6 might mean when you look out over the stack, the medallion may be behind you.
I agree that clue #11 means if you find the right zone, (area) to look between, you will find the med. Staying near where the local streets intersect the park, either between Wyoming and Winona or Baker.. I know that the previous med was found up on the North by the fire hydrant between King and George, so it would make sense that it is further south..As far as the sliding hill goes, I think that is one of the more vague, global first clues that pinpoints the park....
We'll see. We plan on being around tonight when the clue comes out. Will wear something white. Have cell phone and will have someone on line at home.....Good luck to all..this has been a blast...It has been hard to get my work done.... ![]()

Treasurehunter Extraordinaire that wasn't good enough THIS year...
Man, I wanted to fulfill my vision of my finding the medallion.
From another digger's perspective:
I saw the man from afar, fire in his eyes, dynamite in his arms as he tear up the snow as if it weren't there at all. As firecely as he dug, as sudden as a gunshot, he stopped. Carelessly tossing his pickax behind him, landing blade down in the ground with a pleasing >thunk<, this mysterious man bended over calmly, picked up an object from the ground that I knew not what it was. Hunched over he became, and dazed I was, as I saw his face literally redden to the shade of slaughterhouse blood, throw back his head, and let out a yell that deafened me to the point I am today. I only caught glimpse of his face once, fire in his eyes, his expression like stone. I wonder where he be today...
Oh well, I'll catch it next year. >grin< ![]()

When I heard it had been found I had such a hard time accepting it..I didn't want it to be real. I've heard it so many times over this past week. By the way, ignore my husband, who thought we needed a 12-step program...he's teasing us. He was really sweet and brought me lunch today while I was digging. ![]()

Remember: The First Annual PPMCC Re-Hash Bash will be held this Sunday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at CP. Bring whatever you want to cook-out; in addition to the grills at park, there will be at least two Coleman stoves.
I'm proud of all us Way Cool Cooler Heads. We did a great job together - and there's always next year!!!! This is has been the most FUN WEEK I can remember!!!!
Catch you all later!!!! ![]()

Even though none of you out there are going to believe this, my friend Eric and I were helping steve look for the medallion last night at about 6:00pm. All of the clues were visible from the one location: The dome and spire of the Capitol, the 3 pyramids were at eye level with the snow, it was between Cherokee and Chippewa & between Wyoming and Winona streets. Also, the word, "CRACK" was written in white paint at about eye level on one lone oak tree. Damn we were less than 5 friggin' feet from the thing and we couldn't find it! Chalk up failure number 7 for me! ![]()

Besides, a cook-out is more in the spirit of the hunt that we Cooler HeadS have just finished - it all began and ended at CP, and that's where we need to meet.
A new tradition!!! Every year after the hunt, that Sunday we return to the Med hunt location to cry, laugh, curse... tell tall tales maybe, get reaquainted with old Heads, welcome the new Heads.
COOLER HEADS WILL PREVAIL!!!! HAIL COOLER HAND LUKE!!! ![]()

The winners had looked at the cooler messages, that's it.
Proper cooler attire had been explained before as a non-wintry white object (towel, bandanna) over dark clothing, or winter attire such as a scarf in the incorrect place, like wrapped around the arm. I had a white towel around my left calf. ![]()
