Hi gang, just got back from CP. Probably going back tonite after the 11:30 clue eventhough I have school at 8:00a.m. :) The people at CP seem dumbfounded, just like me and everyone else though Edit MessageDelete Message

I'm kinda disappointed in the clues. They refer only to the park, not where in the place, not what it's in.... Edit MessageDelete Message

The 3 pyramids are probably the bathrooms because there is 3 diamond shaped things on the top. Could the damn thing be in the place where you can see the smoke stack, the cathederal, and the capitol all in the same view? Edit MessageDelete Message

cartman - 07:24pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6239 of 8458)

Terry -- you are definitely right about the unscramble. have you given any thought to the pyramids if they are not the bathrooms? or is the consensus at the water cooler that there is no question about it? Edit MessageDelete Message

The three pyramids is rather undisputed. Especially with how all the other clues seem to fall into place with Cherokee Park. Searching, I think you've got a good call pondering the idea that you should be able to see all of the main items mentioned at the same time. So far, it's possible, but still in a rather large area. Axel - 07:30pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6245 of 8458)

I think the clues have narrowed down the search area from annapolis to the bathrooms and from chippewa to cherokee hghts blvd. Now that still is a big area but does confine the search somewhat. Edit MessageDelete Message

Sorry I missed all the fun today, just got back from Chicago. I predict that tonights clue will only tell us what it's in and we still won't know where to dig, assuming that "Rosebud" means sled. Too bad that Busch didn't stop the execution in Texas today, that pickax lady could have done some serious digging at CP Edit MessageDelete Message

I think it has to be in the south area of cherokee park but probably not in the woods. By the way is the medallion constructed out of a non metallic material? Edit MessageDelete Message

I was digging earlier in a place where the cathederal and the smoke stack were in a perfect line, but it turned up empty. I was also think that "point" might have been where Cippewwa and CHerokee BLVD. come together, near the Parks and rec sign but that was all tore up Edit MessageDelete Message

John Nelson - 07:34pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6253 of 8458)

What does "fore" mean, does that relate to golfing by any chance? Is there swingsets at Cherokee park. In golfing they swing clubs. The clue said to unlock the door and be at the fore. Edit MessageDelete Message

I'll go as far as saying that it's been confined a heck of a lot more than that; take the playground to the top of the sliding hill, and the beginning of the parkground (*not* including the sidewalk) to the bottom of that hillish area before Cherokee boulevard. Edit MessageDelete Message

I thought that, but why two domes to try and line up with. I have another one too that does not make sense. Double negatives "end-up" and "high-ground". Is this person trying to tell us to be at the end of the park and a low lying area? Edit MessageDelete Message

cartman - 07:41pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6264 of 8458)

Matt -- I know you don't like the area by the tennis courts but I keep pondering on the 'double division' and 'to and fro' which are both tennis terms. The clue did say 'near' the line of double division. However, I find no pyramids in view there. There is Baker street for 'dough', chippewa is there and the view of both domes and the smoke stack. Convince me please, so I dont waste my time. Edit MessageDelete Message

Fellow South Park viewer, the medallion was found there in 1992. Word is that they would not hide it in the same locale because the years are so close together. You raise a strong argument but it might just be a way for them to throw you for a loop. Good luck! Edit MessageDelete Message

Tired of digging in the snow, and chopping ice? Are the vague clues starting to drive you CRAZY? If you hear one more idiot scream I found it I found it, you think you'll going on a killing spree? Are you starting to think Joe Medallion isn't such a bad guy anyway? If so your looking in the right place.

Acme Medallion services can be yours for a mere 9,999$ a month for 12 months. For this you would get 6 teams of Siberia's finest miners. Each team is headed by a PhD in anthropology from Harvard, and backed up by a fleet of Bobcats. The research team is comprised of 20 librarians, with full satilite search support. The entire Minnesota historical society staff can be added for another 20%.

But the truly amazing part of this package is the defensive team that will confound your compitition. A team of snow makers, Zambonies, and O.J. lawyer team will throw you apponents into a tizzy. Joe Medallion can also send nonstop garbage on the cooler to foil the cooler conspiracy. All this and more could be yours. cash only!! Edit MessageDelete Message

Hi guys... havent seen you here before, so I'll clue you in on some o the common water cooler idears. the 3 pyramids are the roof on the restroom building in CP. double division= Annapolis Avenue (southend of park) thats where Ramsey, Dakota Cntys, and St. Paul, West St. Paul all divide. thats four divisions. To and Fro are the swingsets in Cherokee. the two domes are the capitol and cathedral, the plume of smoke the power plant and kids zooming and rosebud (citizen kanes sled) refer to the sledding hill in CP's southend. all can be seen from certain locations in the park. the poles from the swingsets form ^'s- in fact, at mounds, they are three-sided and form actual pyramids and there are three of them on the playground there. we were sure that it was the answer to the three pyramids clue. that was then, this is now..... Edit MessageDelete Message

Chippewa once again brought up,is an old idea. that just once again points to CP (the obvious). I think really hip is a clue meaning cool. Cool+whip= cool whip. Thats what I think the medallions in. Someone else thinks bandaid box (doubt it, it was in a bandage box recently), someone else said a Pace picante jar, as in the clue stating keep up the pace and win the race...Let's face it, almost everyone interprets these clues differently. And as many solutions as I've seen on here in the last couple of days and the fact that only one solution is right, means everyone here, not too mention the losers...uhh...I mean people who aren't in the cooler, have just as good a chance as anyone else. Edit MessageDelete Message

John Nelson - 08:09pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6290 of 8458)

What about three pine trees? They are triangle form and the stumps make them rise over the snow. Edit MessageDelete Message

A chat area would be easier in some way. There is a point on the southside that allow you to see the smoke straight ahead, the hill at your back, the cathedral. Other points dont allow you to see some of those things, but allow you to see others. Read the clues carefully though. Not all things necessarily have to be in view. Some clues almost mention that certain items will just be nearby, some may even be to your back. Someone else asked about street names.

Smith Avenue is the highbridge, you take a right from Smith (when yourheading south)onto Cherokee heading you west. Cherokee turns and runs down the North/Northwest side of the park. Annapolis runs the length of the south side. Chippewa runs the east side. Excepts for little spots between the streets and lots and splotches of land on the opposite side of Cherokee, most of the park is in a triangle shaped piece of land between those streets. Baker is nearby and runs into Chippewa...hence the clue that mentions dough. thats about all I can tell you about the streets. Edit MessageDelete Message

I have enjoyed the thrill of the hunt for this madallaion and infact have shoveled to find the darn thing but Shooting Star is my wife and i tell you she is going to town on this to a point of obsestion. so to all of you [ my self included] when some poor sap who goes out one day [and one day only] and stubbles on to it and findes it we can all meet and start a support group and throw darts at the winners picture.

And to all who have just started the hunt and are using the skills of deduction of those on this site.

Gray Beard,

Hi, this is Joe. About 5 minutes ago, I read the E-Mail you sent me near noon today. I noticed you were going to get on the Water Cooler about 8pm, so I logged over to it just now. Send me an E-Mail with your phone # and I can call you -- and we can talk about going looking this evening, if we decide the clue will help us -- I'm not sure how to reach you this evening other than that way. If we can talk, there's also this possibility: one of us can get clue on Internet, relay it to the other at the site via cell phone and then meet-up at the site shortly after that -- that would give the person at the site a slight jump getting the clue before anyone else (if the clue is hot). I'll be looking for you on Water Cooler and E-Mail.

WINONA!!! ok, far fetched i know... here's another: maybe it is at the cape and/or tip of the park, where cherokee and chippewa get close or do they come together... anyone considered that they had already given us the park, and that cherokee was meant to be the street? wish i could get out yet, but probably won't - unless the clue is a doozy! i almost wish someone would find it and put me out of my misery :) oh, and i got to meet new daddy last night... good luck to you, that prize would buy a lot of diapers... and anyone else notice that there are a lot of novice hunters this year.... lots of people digging, not even knowing the clues. 2 1/2 hours before our next fix, I don't know if I can hold out. I need my clue, I'm gonna die. On a more serious note have any of you notice that they have given us 3 street names in the clues? Sidney, Winona and Wyoming? Help me out tell me were you dug and I'll go to the left of ya. Better yet mabey we should all pick a newby and follow them around. They seem to have luck over the years. I've got to slog thru stuff, but was CP tonite from about 6:45 to 7:30 and I was the ONLY Cooler there. Had a white golf hat and on it it said, "PPMCC Member/I'm Way Cooler'un You!/Hail Cooler Hand Luke!!!

Asked several people if they were Coolers, and they looked at me like I had two heads. The hot dog guy by the johns said, when asked if hed seen any coolers, "Where? Just sitting around?" I said, "No, they'll be digging and have white towels, hats or bandanas."

He got a little spooked I think, as he slowly backed away from me...

Miss you guys!!!! :(

Just a short hop up here, then gotta go back...

See around posts 6000:

I *really* think "Crew" (like Vulcan Krew!) is better than "clan" - particularly the conotation. Ah, yes.

And... I *really* think our letter designation should be "PP*M*CC" as the PP has SO MANY diff Coolers. We need to stress THE MEDALLION - THAT WHICH WE ALL DIG FOR!!!

:)

After visiting the cooler tonight, I know where I'll be tomorrow--that is if it is still out there. The kid is in bed and I can't leave her here alone. Anyway, lot's of great ideas brewing in here. I'll be down there after next clue. I am cooler crew, but I will be wearing a leather biker jacket with the logo for Combustible Edison painted in white on the back. Soul Coughing on the right sleeve and Pulp Fiction on the left, if you see me, say hi....I'll do likewise. I think my sweetie will be down there with me again. I've got some industrial strength tools this time.

As far as the buildings downtown being pyramids...I doubt it. The clues are being read to tightly....They say things like in a place where or nearby, etc. The pyramids and other things don't have to necessarily be next to you...these clues led us to Cherokee, not necessarily the exact burial spot. As long as these things are in CP, you're right on...Only a couple of things should actually be in view....least that's how I read it...

Im not good remembering who wrote what up there when Im typing my own posts....but I hope that one dude puts some clothes on before he goes out. If he is out in CP looking like he does in the picture he's gonna lose his own medallions...then he'll have to look for 3 of 'em!!! (laugh) Edit MessageDelete Message

Thoughts about the object. Clue 2 could mean a snow globe. Clue 3 could be a rose something. Clue 5 something to measure with Who knows. Maybe the worthwhile tip could be the item we're hunting for. Anything you dig up will be torn apart. Being the snow has been so compacted all over the park, a cool-whip container seems a bit large. Edit MessageDelete Message

Old enough to drink and young enough to know I'm going to hate coming to work hung over yet deep down really enjoy the feeling. Hunting all my life I think, memories of Mom yelling "Put on your big boots you can always warm up in the car!'' No joke.

Morton from Motherlode and "Win no" from clue 7. Try reading the clues backwards. Clue 5 lead me to belive he or she was really letting more clues out if you looked for them. Devious I know since everyone is really only looking for one key thing out of each clue. Edit MessageDelete Message

But, then SOMEONE has to man the 'puter while the rest of The Crew is flailing away in the snow!!! Hint: It ain't Chippewa. Read the next line: "We don't whatever...." They're saying *not* Chippewa. Think Cherokee and far from where it was found the last time.

I haven't tried looking at the clues backwards yet. Hmm.. I've got all the clues for this and the past 10 years (what was available to me on the net) on my HPC, I'll have that with. I'll have to toy with the wordgames again when I get bored.

READ #8268 - THE WIZARD SPEAKS!

Just got back from CP. Wish we could narrow it down a little more. People were digging from one end of the park to the other. Bonfire is nice and warm - met some nice (of course) PPMCC treasure hunters there. One woman there from Lino Lakes - says she's been hunting for five days! Wonder if anyone is up for a pancake breakfast in the bonfire ring tomorrow morning? If the hunt is still on, that is. Happy hunting! Edit MessageDelete Message

Go BAck to Clue 4 First. To crack their Code they give you a "demo" of the mode to pursue. Not the real thing just a "demo" . (Now this is not stetching anything). But the real code would work the same way. With me so far? Edit MessageDelete Message

on the hunt

I think maybe you're right...Its telling us we dont recommend Chippewa...too close to the previous CP burial spot... The man with the cape and whip for those who missed it earlier is a statue on the capitol of a man with a cape and whip.

as far as most of the diggers at CP...they are just digging aimlessly....I walk around most of the time Im there, trying to educate a good guess....But hopefully tonight will give the prize to the cooler gang.... Once again Ill be there around midnight with a black biker jacket and a white Combustible Edison logo on the back...Ive got better tools tonight... this has gotta be it guys..its gotta be! Good luck... Edit MessageDelete Message

The only reason I do this is because I can't go out even if I wanted to. They wouldn't throw it in a stupid place they would put it in the one and only place you can look. The first letter of each clue- reading either frontwards or backwards. Her it is forward: AIRAWIITTA_ _. or _ _ATTIIWARIT. Now do the Demo=Mode thing and see if you can come up with something that either spells out properly or sounds right?!? Edit MessageDelete Message

Shovel Boy: I have to agree. I don't understand anyone who goes out to the park, gets plastered, and digs around, not even able to comprehend what they're shoveling over their shoulders. It's worse than fishing drunk, I tell ya.

I came prepared today, unlike yesterday. Got lots of tools (thank god I have a large construction company background), got lots of clothes, bout the only thing I have less of is energy. I'm damn tired. But I know the next clue will soup up my adrenaline again, it sure did last night.

Take the first letter and write them down, then split the 12(10 so far ) in half put the back six in the front. See they say that clue 4 is just a demo, if so, then at some point along the line the code is used in a bigger more important manner. Edit MessageDelete Message

Just don't get too close. I've seen boots welded to feet with this thing.

If not Cozumel how about hire someone to find the person who is making me question why I come to work and not out at CP. My boss may have a few words for him or her as well. I think they may even consider this week part of my vacation, I've spent more time on the Cooler than in meetings. NOT GOOD. I better find it and buy everyone off. Edit MessageDelete Message
