Deb - I'll watch for the spotlight (I saw a few coleman lanterns last night, wish I had one...) I want to see the next clue at 11:30, I will wait for a phone message at the Cherokee Sirloin Room and then head over... may have the steak sandwich too!

Great tip on the water C22! Thanks.... Edit MessageDelete Message

greenslvs2 - 03:19pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#5998 of 8458)

Chasing: I went on my lunch hour - there were a BUNCH of people there, I guess 200? And the mailman saw me wondering around in a daze mumbling "Aspie... cape, whip, hip..." over and over and just laughed at me!!! I had to laugh too!!! I'm mumbling all the clues to myself at work at my desk, in the elevator... in line for lunch!!!

Hi, Sisters!!! An idea came up earlier today: Wonder of PP would allow the Way Cool Cooler Clan to walk in the parade this weekend and like wear armbands or something so we all look alike... Isn't that a neat idea??? Wish they would let us.

Anyay, I think itsa's got it. Please open your minds and go find the Med and put me outta my misery!!!

#4 has TWO domes (demo AND mode) and I believe "mother lode" is the Cathedral as it's roof is copper which is an ore = mining = lode. One of the domes is the Capital.

#5 "We'd be the first (First Bank, maybe even for the *second* time) to say that a place to play can make any winter more pleasureable." This referrs to the *second* dome in #4 - Civic Center.

#6 referrs to the NSP stack and, *again* the Civic Center: "soon be back" as the new hockey team will be homed there when the NHL comes "back" to MN.

#10 I think Itsa's got: The guy atop the Capital, who's "keeping up the pace and winning the race (chariot)" in cape and whip is definiately attired in such a away as to be innappropriate - at least for winter!!! And, it's a good "tip" not to dress that way in winter as you'll freeze your patoots off!!!! And.... He's at the top of a spire... Or if you don't like that spire, pick any other one you see from this area!!! Doesn't matter!!! LOL!!!!

Also, another "line of double division" is the High Bridge. It cuts the river in 1/2 and is divided into two lanes of traffic.

I'm now unstuck from my Band-aid theory <g>. "Aid" referrs to the 911 signs in the park; there's one rite by the area that you can see all the buildings from. And... I've given up on roses, rosebushes, horticulture, rosehips, Cape roses, whips (rose canes)!!!! I bow to The Sax Man - sled, sled and ONLY A DAMN SLED!!!!!! I'M SICK OF ROSES AND WILL NEVER GROW ANY!!!!

Just more ramblings (AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! "Rambling Rose!!!!") from a tired Way Cooler Clan member. Hail to Cooler Hand Luke!!! Edit MessageDelete Message

Rose refers to the rose on the sign at Herberger's right by Cherokee. At least in my opinion. Edit MessageDelete Message

That may be a bit of a stretch brother Matt but congrats - you had post #6000! ... Edit MessageDelete Message

Matt Watters - 03:30pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6002 of 8458)

Gee, that's almost as good as a medallion... but not quite. :-> Edit MessageDelete Message

Sherlock - 03:31pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6003 of 8458)

Personally, I just hope they post what all the clues really mean after someone has found it. Then we can see if we read too far into the clues, or not far enough. By the way, Matt, actually I don't think you can see the Herberger's sign from Cherokee park - Herberger's is about 1-1/2 miles away from there. I used to work at the bottem of the hill, down by the river. Edit MessageDelete Message

Will Vold - 03:34pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6007 of 8458)

Considering how early Roses were in the clues. That would have been close enough to point the right direction. It just would have been real obscure. And that has been the case all along this year. Edit MessageDelete Message

Matt Watters - 03:34pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6008 of 8458)

OK, there are three kinds of clues: 1. Helps locate the correct park. 2. Helps locate the correct site. 3. Tells what the medallion is found in. I just think that since it was such an early clue, it could only be #1. By the way, good thought on the capital statue, Greensleeves. Edit MessageDelete Message

Deb - I saw a bonfire at 11:00 last night by the jungle gym with about 10 folks around it and even saw a flask or 2....maybe thats where "station wagon man" got his start! Edit MessageDelete Message

Gotta go, got up early to get to work early to get off early to beat the rush to Cherokee. Bye all, you're all the Cooler Water Cooler-ers. Edit MessageDelete Message

Sherlock - 03:43pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6014 of 8458)

I'm off now too...perhaps I'll run into some of you around Cherokee. I agree with everyone else, Greensleeves - nice job, that bit about the capital! Good luck to all...don't forget to mention the Cooler when you find the medallion! Edit MessageDelete Message

greenslvs2 - 03:44pm Feb 3, 1998 CST (#6015 of 8458)

Thanks, all. Just FIND IT!!!! I'm ssssoooo tired.

Deb: They had a fire going when I was there on my lunch hour. It was nice - the wood smoke. Maybe I'll come down tonite and join my Way Cooler Clan fiends and bring some dogs. At least I can eat and keep warm.

The way to do "the" area: Get a BIG group of people and line them all up front to back, front to back. Then all start digging, throwing snow over right shoulder, and the line gradually moving to everybody's left. This will keep everyone from trampling down the snow. Edit MessageDelete Message

Mr. Tom... I've nothing appropriate. Wait! Didn't someone wear a tube sock tied around their arm last nite??? Can I do that?

I'd *rather* we all had proper Cooler Clan wear, with Cooler Hand Luke on it.

Me and Cheryl and Black Widow are going to get sweatshirts or something for next year so that we all look alike - that is if the PP doesn't pick up on our "clue" that this is really wanted and get going on having PPMCC-wear for next year!!!! Edit MessageDelete Message

Proper "Water Cooler Clan" Attire (tentative): anything white worn against anything dark -- something that is obviously not part of the regular winter ensemble (e.g., bandana, tube sock, towel, t-shirt, etc.). A white scarf will work, but it should be wrapped around arm rather than face. Displaying your Cooler handle is encouraged. There are a lot of us and we may feel more comfortable approaching someone we've gotten to know here. Good luck all and share your shoveling space tonight. Its at CP, but nobody knows where. And the problem may be related to hard snow caused by diggers and also the nasty tire tracks left by the large tree cutting trucks. Who knows if it can be reached with anything less than an earth-mover. Edit MessageDelete Message

alas! the voice of reason has arrived. Many of you have figured this clue out already. Many have not. Cape and a Whip, many of you are thinking "what the dilly-o is that all about!"

This I say!

Cape and Whip are two words that are really one! Tis true, the words are seperated and the letters are discombobulated! But if you glue them together and rearrange the letters like furniture in the living room. You have the word "Chippewa" Edit MessageDelete Message

Shovelboy, there really hasn't been any new news. Everyone agrees with the the cape and whip thing that it's near chippewa. However, greenslvs mentioned that on top of the capital roof is a man with a cape and whip. The tip part of clue 10 is to not dress like him! Edit MessageDelete Message

Vega: I must say that that, indeed, does make a lot of sence, BUT -- there was some guy that was looking at the clues and somehow figured that if you take certin letters out of certin words, you got the words EARL STREET. Now that one I didn't believe at all, I'm just trying to make sure that this isn't one of those types of things where someone is breaking this up way too much. (P.S. I like your word - "discombobulated." Cool word!!) Edit MessageDelete Message

I see we have a Howard Stern Fan and a Kevin Smith fan here, cool. What is the newest distinguishing attire? Like I said I will probably be there after midnight if it's still around. I wear a leather biker jacket with the white logo for Combustible Edison on the back and Soul Coughing on the right sleeve. So if you see me, say hi. I'm not the guy in my picture. I like the capitol clue about the statue on the roof, and the Chippewa clue.. But one other I came up with last night is really hip=cool+whip=Cool Whip, like maybe the medallion is in a Cool Whip container. This is about the time they start telling us what it's in. I agree on the Quentin Tarantino analysis, I should have mentioned that Pulp Fiction is on my left sleeve and Soul Coughing on my right, oh well... Whoever asked why we think its Cherokee, you should take the clues and go to Cherokee. The streets match, the 3 pyramids are there, to and fro is there, the plume of smoke. Head of a commitee is a chair and to unlock a door you need a key;hence, Chair-O-Key or Cherokee....and many other reasons which place the valuable prize definitely without doubt in Cherokee....It's just that Cherokee is a big park and the snow is so screwed up there, we can't find it. had to respond quickly here. To and Fro has been interpreted by several to mean the large swingsets at CP and the 3 pyramids are the roof of the bathroom buildings. the smoke in the sky is the powerplant stack on the river. translate demo and mode from clue 4 and you get 2 domes, the capitol and the Cathedral. heard a rumor you can get the clues at 11pm at the press, is this true or should i just have someone call me from my computer out there a 11:30. I hope they keep the fire going and the hot cider people along with the hotdog guy comes back. (no offense dog) Edit MessageDelete Message

Wait a minute. 'Cape' rhymes with 'drape' and whip doesn't. So if you put 'whip' and 'drape' togather you get 'drip'. So it must be near water falling because kids like to go over rapids in innertubes. Hence "zoom" . And division these days means diversity which rhymes with 'university' and that divides everything south of University Ave. with everything north of University Ave. Hmmm.......Maybe John Clancy has something to do with the three pyramids . . . YES! The Vikings ! . . . . Probably sailed to Egypt after carving the ruinstone which, as everybody knows by now, is also thought of as a rosebud.. . . . . FOLKS, I'M OFF TO CONWAY HTS. PLAYGROUND!!! on the hunt

Hello again.... Stopped in to see what was new... Doesn't look like too much. I hope to see the water cooler gang out there tonight. I will be there sometime after the 11:30 clue, that is if it makes any sense to me. Maybe because of this water cooler and the ability to sit in a car with a laptop, they are making things harder this year. However, I understand that Thursday is still the dead line. Good Luck cooler folk, see you tonight. By the way, whoever up there said that whole bit about drape=drip=tubing=etc, etc. Good Luck and thanks. That means one less person will be at CP. theyre making things harder this year because it was at cherokee but 6 years ago... they had to think of clues that didnt match the 1992 ones hence they had to dig deeper for references..... Edit MessageDelete Message

Last night part of the discussion was about a-spire. There is supposed to be a church near-by. Anyone been out there that noticed if the church has a spire and if it can be seen from the park? Edit MessageDelete Message

Anyone who says that it's anywhere other than Cherokee park needs to have their head examined. To boot, anyone who says that it's in lame places like the tennis courts, or the lower side of the park needs to do the same. Edit MessageDelete Message
