In clue #4 it says "first you'll have to crack our code. So here's a demo of the mode to pursue" I think that this is saying the rest of the clues will be in code like "demo, mode = dome". Just a thought, but do any of the other clues have anagrams like this? Edit MessageDelete Message

Well blow me down! The medallion is still not at either of those parks! Edit MessageDelete Message

That sign is very much at Mounds on Thorn and Earl. Edit MessageDelete Message

First Timer - 09:41pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#4056 of 8457)

I don't think that the words zoom, race, and keep up the pace refer to sledding. If "Rosebud" refers to sled, couldn't it mean a snowmobile? Is McCarron Beach considered a park? You can see the smoke stack from Roselawn ave. and Rice Street. It's right between the golf dome (a place to play in the winter) and the go-kart track (a place kids like to zoom). That could also explain the words race, track, and pace. Edit MessageDelete Message

So how has The Woman And I been doing, where all have you been looking lately and how much time have you put in now? I'm kinda thinking it is attatched to a pace picante sauce cap, buried in the ground, near but not next to the double division (annapolis)in the southeast (more eastern) part of the park, where the three pyramids come into view. Cherokee that is! "you'll soon be back" near "City streets" right???? Edit MessageDelete Message

In clue #8 if you use the anagram thing you can change "pace" to "cape" and "race" to "care" and who would wear a cape and care---------Super Mom!!! Edit MessageDelete Message

I spent most of yesterday on Annapolis - still think it could be at that neck of the park. Last nights clue did bring me to the top of the park near the "three pyramids", but I'm not straying to close to that. Good thinking on the pace cap. I have been at CP every day since Wednesday. I do not think it is at Mounds. Tonights clue will decipher alot. I will be out this evening. Jill Edit MessageDelete Message

Dave - 09:50pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#4069 of 8457)

Lets face it they are not trying to make double division a hard clue to figure out at this point. In its simplist form, it is what it says. It divides St. Paul from West St. Paul and Ramsey County from Dakota County, the ONLY other fit there is the Mississippi dividing Minneapolis and St. Paul, and Ramsey from Hennepin down by Hidden Falls Park, but that would probably be a stretch given ,.....hmmmmmm, na, the other clues don't fit there anyways. Edit MessageDelete Message

Poop - 09:50pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#4070 of 8457)

As everyone knows the real pyramids are located near Giza and Giza rhymes with geezer which was the first name of Geezer Butler the bassist of Black Sabbath. Who else wears black that has a connection with the twin cities? Of course it's Hulk Hogan of the new world order, the dark side of wrestling. What building is known as "the house that Hulk built?" Of course it's the Civic Center! Therefore the pyramids lead directly to the Civic Center. THATS WHERE IT'S AT FOR SURE!!!! Edit MessageDelete Message

I don't think the medallion is in the snow by the 3 pyramids cause there is 4 clues to go and they are not going to give the medallions location this early. Edit MessageDelete Message

Cheryl:

Am still reading (@1493) since coming home from Cat Show... Will need to run some stuff past you when you get back as SO MANY are overlooking very important clues; Remember this - I'm a big one for double... and I just found a whopper of a double based on something posted about 10 to 8:00 or so - just up from 1493. Will need your brain, Cher, as I don't know squat about these parks...

But... If what I'm thinking is correct there *is* one park that better fits CP based on an aspect of a clue that I have been harping on for the past 3.5 days. Will need your brain kiddo!!! Should be caught up by the time you get back. Will catch you!!

As ever... Greenslvs2 Edit MessageDelete Message

We think like Dave. Rosewood Estates on E. Mississippi River Blvd. has a rosebud on the sign- right across from the bike path where kids like to zoom. The nearest cross street is HIGHLAND. The Ford plant sports a DEMO outside the gate- in view of smokestack and a large round object. The double division is the County thing - also the bike path divides to two lanes. There is a dome on the City sign on the Ford bridge. Where are the pyrimids, though? Could the spires across the river possibly qualify? Any thoughts out there? Edit MessageDelete Message

Dave - 09:59pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#4084 of 8457)

someone said in a pace jar then and I corrected that it would be taped to a pace cover. Makes sense in clue #8 "keep up the pace" Edit MessageDelete Message

Anything with a top that has four sides that come together at a point is considered a pyramid---like the Washington monument in D.C. it does not matter if it is 300 feet tall with straight sides as long as the pyramid shape is at the top! Edit MessageDelete Message

I think the Pace lid is pretty far fetched, that's an awful small thing to look for in the middle of a Minnesota winter. I've been over to Mounds and its really dug up. If its there like a lot of clues say it is, it's posible that its been uprooted and not noticed. Edit MessageDelete Message

We need to figure out the location before we even start to think about the container its in!!! The container clue rarely can be translated any other way, if its even translated at all before they tell us what the clues mean... so in that case rule out the pace.. Edit MessageDelete Message

It wouldn't be the first time the medallion has been kicked around. Yes that is reaching a bit, but it is a fairly trivial matter anyways, since you have to sift through every inch of snow anyways. It has been attatched to small objects like that before, but I really don't know just guessing - you know. It's in there some where (Cherokee) Edit MessageDelete Message

Air, really - seriously... have you read all 4,156 posts - as I have, some of them 5-6 times, and printed to your hard drive the ones that seem of import to you??? There is SO much info here - and many, many, many great ideas. Sorry to get on you. (should have kept quiet) It just gets so tedious people getting on and immediately asking for info that's been said in so many ways, SO many times. Like, "Otay. I'm here now. So fill me in as I'm too dang lazy to put any work into this."

It took me almost three hours to get to where I could post tonite at the current time. And I left off at about 8:30+/- this a.m.!!!! Edit MessageDelete Message

ATTENTION MOUNDERS...

I'm still betting the farm on CHEROKEE. Your "double division" and "three pyramids" are still too much of a stretch, while at Cherokee they're quite obvious.

Waiting for tonight's clue...then I'll be finding it! Heard some pretty good theories while searching at CP today. Edit MessageDelete Message

First Timer,

That's why you're a first timer, and we're grizzled veterans. You have to let the clues lead you to the park, not twist the clues to fit your favorite park.

East Siders are too damn stubborn. They refuse to leave their territory. This is fine with me. Leave Cherokee for those of us who can intrepret this mess and dig like maniacs. Edit MessageDelete Message

Well... *I* was ehll-bent for Battle Creek at first. Then BJ and a few others that were very quiet in posting their opinions got me to see the lite... plus (blushing modestly) I was able to REALLY help others with my observations... convinced me it was Cherokee. *However* so many of you are completely ignoring very important facts... and due to a previous idea... I'm *patiently* (i'm lying... I'm not being patient AT ALL!!!) waiting for my "eyes" to check in as the Med *could* (maybe) be elsewhere. But, that's just my opinion. And I've yet nothing concrete to base it on. Edit MessageDelete Message

A lot of people keep asking what would lead to Mound. Here's what we cam up with...Clue 2 says water and woods, and high ground, obviously the river and woods nearby, and the high bluff. Clue 3, well, we went with both the Rosebud reference to Citizen Kane, and Thorn street, apparently there are sliders down the hill from the beacon, which we took from #4 as the large object in view, and the dome from the capitol as the dome mentioned. Clue 5 we really stretched on and said that Reserve Street could be the immeasurable riches, i.e. Federal Reserve, Clue 6 we took track as being the railroad tracks down by the river, and you can see the NSP stack from Mounds, Clue 7 was the double division, which everyone and their mother took as the Tennis Courts, and #8, well the only pyramids we could see were the shelters at the park, which all three are pretty close together. So, that's why we have been looking at Mounds, but we have also checked Cherokee. Edit MessageDelete Message

B.J. Mack - 11:06pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#4210 of 8457)

Listen people, the "double division" is what so clearly puts it at Cherokee. I don't know how many times I've said it, but for the benefit of those who've missed my rants....

Annapolis Street, which borders Cherokee Park, is the dividing line between St. Paul and West St. Paul and between Ramsey County and Dakota County. This is plainly the best "double division" you'll find. Much more clear than a tennis court or a basketball court, which is in almost any park and just has a bunch of lines on it, no clear double division.

If you still want to look at Mounds, go ahead. Edit MessageDelete Message

Dave - 11:07pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#4211 of 8457)

Well if you were on Harriet Island you would probably have to look over the snow to see pyramids of coal, but then that wouldn't fit. All I know is that wherever that damn thing is listen to B.J. Mack those damn pyramids (whatever they are) somewhere in the distance will be visible and almost looking right at you over the snow. Good place to start, then look for groups of trees or major objects that may hold the medallion in the middle or line up a number of objects or an object points/hints to a direction in a subtle fashion and then so many paces of from there things like that, and don't stop till ya hit the ground. Edit MessageDelete Message

Too, everybody is missing "soon be back" and "place to play can make any winter more pleasureable" - a double meaning - being Civic Center. Tho, it's like three times said... Oh, well.

And... remember 112? Adds up to four. Four "divided" by 2 = 2 (double [two twice] division????

Well.. Two years ago it was at Harriet Island. Two (god, how I'm getting to hate that number!) Plus, in the clues for 1996, they use "dough" and "mother lode" AND "pleasure".
