I don't find a Casey Park nor Rosebud Street on my map Edit MessageDelete Message

Catch 22 - 03:51pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3544 of 8457)

I think it is near the Binocs at top of High Bridge. Why? Clue #1-- "one" refers to 1st bank 1 Clue #2-- "water and woods" refer to drinking fountain and trees nearby also "high ground" refers to top of High bridge Clue #3--"roses" refer to sign nearby saying "taken care of by such and such garden society" and "zoom" refers to binocs Clue #4-- "object in view" refers to binocs, "demo of the mode" refers to domes, and "mother lode" refers to coal at NSP Clue #5-- "City streets" refers to streets with city names nearby, and "immeasurable" refers to distances you can see Clue #6-- "plume of smoke" refers to NSP stack, and "view" again refers to binocs Clue #7-- "line of double division" refers you to annapolis which refers you to cherokee which refers you to the binocs Clue #8-- "three pyramids" refer to the tops of the three posts at the top of the high bridge Edit MessageDelete Message

Yellowstoners - 03:52pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3545 of 8457)

"lode" and Harriet Island... sometimes they ship ore down the river, that is how it related back in '96. Edit MessageDelete Message

Two Sisters - 03:52pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3546 of 8457)

So where is Casey? Who suggested it? Does anyone know where it is? I know of a Casey Lake Park, but it is in North St. Paul (or Maplewood - not sure) Edit MessageDelete Message

kollin stevens - 03:53pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3548 of 8457)

there is no casey park Edit MessageDelete Message

master j p - 03:55pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3549 of 8457)

First off, I can't believe I'm telling anyone this, I live right by the park and I have been trying to keep this to myself but I just can't. Okay, that "rosebud" clue has many meanings, I think. If you notice, there is a thorn st. right by this park and also Mounds. This Casey is very small and it's just across the street basically from mounds and you can easily see the smokestack from here. It's also on the same ground level as Mounds. Also from clue 7, "aid your decision", Casey has a small building that kids go to if they get hurt playing on the pyramidal playgrounds, and they have nurses on duty to serve the kids, I remember because I used to play here as a kid also and I hurt myself repeatedly plus my mom was one of these nurses that worked in the first aid building.

Check it out. Maps do not show it because it is a very small park. Edit MessageDelete Message

Two Sisters - 03:56pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3550 of 8457)

Catch 22: I see your reasoning...Where exactly are the binocs...Are they in a safe enough place for a lot of people to be looking for the medallion? I know there is a lot of traffic on the high bridge; not sure the PP would hide it in a place that is risky for people to get hurt. Edit MessageDelete Message

Elsinore - 03:56pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3551 of 8457)

Casey Lake park is in North StP but the lake borders Maplewood. Its at McKnight and 17th. Edit MessageDelete Message

Two Sisters - 03:58pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3554 of 8457)

ER - The pyramids at CP are so obvious! As soon as we got the clue it made perfect sense. There is a building that has three pyramidal(? is that a word) roof tops.

Elsinore - are you still thinking MOUNDS? Edit MessageDelete Message

Shell-Head - 03:59pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3555 of 8457)

master j p - 03:59pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3556 of 8457)

An update for medallion hunters...as of 4 p.m. Sunday it has NOT been found. The Pioneer Press has been getting lots of calls from people asking; just thought I'd let you all know the search is still going on. Edit MessageDelete Message

Elsinore - 04:00pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3558 of 8457)

I'll be back to Mounds only if they build three pyramids and make two division signs (mathematical) on them. Edit MessageDelete Message

Shell-Head - 04:01pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3559 of 8457)

JP, Where is Casey Park? Edit MessageDelete Message

Two Sisters - 04:02pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3560 of 8457)

Master JP - Nurses on duty at a small park...Really? I don't know about that. I don't know of ANY park that has nurses...First aid kits, yes, but not nurses. Edit MessageDelete Message

Catch 22 - 04:04pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3561 of 8457)

The binocs are on the corner of the High bridge and cherokee ave. It is a small area and there is lots of traffic on the high bridge. There is an area under the binocs that is easy to get to. Last time I was there, it was pretty picked over but it could still be hidden in the snow and just overlooked. Didn't they hide it one year on a bridge? Edit MessageDelete Message

Shell-Head - 04:04pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3562 of 8457)

master j p - 04:05pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3564 of 8457)

There were nurses because it is such a small park, the nearby moms serve their time to help, this isn't done everywhere. Edit MessageDelete Message

I think it is overdoing it to have nurses to watch over small parks. Were the hills covered with broken bottels or something? Edit MessageDelete Message

Yellowstoners - 04:08pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3568 of 8457)

I too remember that small park across from Mounds as a child. The nurses as a believe were from the old Mounds Park Hospital which was also across the street from the Indian burials. Edit MessageDelete Message

Dave - 04:21pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3584 of 8457)

I must confess, finally, for those that want a chance at finding that medallion, get your ass out of Mounds Park. Anything you think fits is wrong for Mounds - as much as Cherokee has been picked over it's still there (or they just haven't buried it yet). The three pyramids rise out of the snow, I would imagine it is more something in the backdrop rather than in the park itself. If "city streets" and "double division" and "you'll soon be back" don't cinch it for ya, then go home and give up, or become a Cherokee believer. Those are the three clues that make Cherokee the ONLY contender. So quit wandering to and fro find a place you can have a reasonable view of three pyramids, yet keep you close to the double division (annapolis) and the very southeast part of the park. Remember its always as far to the ground as you can go, under or in that last chunk of ice. And don't forget since my car is out of commission to drop by my house in highland park and pick me up along the way. Good Luck! Edit MessageDelete Message

JNorris - 04:22pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3585 of 8457)

From what I can tell there isn't even a consensus on what park the darn thing is in. Where is the most activity centering? Edit MessageDelete Message

master j p - 04:35pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3603 of 8457)

PLUS, JUST TO BACK MY THEORY UP, THERE ARE MASSIVE GROUPS OF KIDS THAT LIVE AROUND THE AREA THAT GO SLEDDING THERE. PLUS HAS ANYONE EVER THOUGHT THAT "A place where kids zoom" doesn't have to mean where kids sled. Nobody noticed the "Childs rd" right along Mounds which may include the double division. Childs rd is on the map, think about it. Edit MessageDelete Message

Shell-Head - 04:35pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3604 of 8457)

Matthew, for the last time the nurses are at Casey Park Edit MessageDelete Message

Searcher - 04:36pm Feb 1, 1998 CST (#3605 of 8457)

Matthew: I'm no expert, but I think it's just north of Indian Mounds Park. North of Thorn Street and south of 94. Officially, however I don't think it's there. Edit MessageDelete Message

OK everyone get a grip. Quit trying to read too much into the clues. Last year at this time, the same thing happened on this board. People started to doubt it was at Como and it was so obviouse just like this year. Its deffinately at Cherrokee, and there is a lot of land out there to move snow on. its in the middle of some field at Cherrokke. so get out there and look for it. if I didn't have toddler sick i'd be out there instead of trying to set all of you straight. Its a big park and could be anywhere in there right now. Edit MessageDelete Message

Cherokee fits but then again... So many people have been there! It's amazing if it's there that it hasn't been found! I wonder if it is buried in the snow, considering our lack of it so far this ear and with the warm temperatures?! Makes me wonder... If it's not in the snow, what else is there at Cherokee that hasn't been searched? And what about landmarks for the next clues? As for Ivy Park, the only one I found was Ivy Falls (or something similar) and that's not in Ramsey County. The Dominos' guys I talked to mentioned Baker Park. Went there, too, but that doesn't add up either. Well, I'm ramblin' but I'm frustrated (like many of you, I'm sure!) I just hope if I don't stumble upon it that another "die hard" does.

Is there anywhere else I can buy a paper that is closer to Cherokee than the Pioneer Press Bldg? I will be venturing back out at 11pm. (I'm in WI so I have a ways to travel and if there's a gas station on the way...) Edit MessageDelete Message

If the clue tonight doesnt pinpoint the park I think I am going to flip over! It never takes this long to find the park. It has to be so obvious we cant even see it. If it is at Cherokee it sounds as if that park has been turned upside down! You'd think it would be found by now. I think we are all being fooled! Edit MessageDelete Message
